Yes he specifically said jbl, well it does sound jbl, I still dont have the guts to take apart a door just to verify this, but I eventually will give in,
Yes the leaf, I had the bose efficiency series, meaning it's just the bose label, mediocre output, so updated the pillar tweeters to kenwood, the tweeters were cheap, nothing to do with bose, however I gave them with the car nicely wrapped and all, installed a 2 channel amp with an RCA out, the amp worked with speaker feeds used the amp outs on the stock front speakers, hid the amp under the seat, was a tiny Sony explode, used the RCA outs to run an active sub, again under the other seat as the bose sub didn't do much, but eventually chickened out on the active sub, pulled it out in a day or two, but left the amp in situ till I sold the car, as the range kept reducing all electrical extras became a burden. This was a jdm leaf, I think uk leafs bose system was different, I never pulled a door to see if the speakers said bose, it just had this tiny ridge behind the rear seat, with bose on it, and a bose logo on top of the display. An entry pioneer system home built on a normal car will run rings around it.
That’s some job?. Still I even don’t have the guts to take off the doors of my 5yr old car. I installed a Bose spare tyre subwoofer from a Mazda 6, but didn’t ran the wires from the battery. A crossover is needed to squeeze out the max, so plan to get a passive FMOD one.

First of all, the review is a joy to read with a bit of humor sprinkled. Really enjoyed reading it!!! Totally unbiased... Thumbs up for that???
There were some interesting facts I came to know about this new kid on the block. One is that it has JBL sourced speakers, which really makes me eagerly waiting for one to be tested out.
What are the modifications you did to the Bose system in the Leaf? I’d really like to know?
Again, a great and honest review??

@Magnum today I got a chance to drive a KDH205(correct me if the code is wrong) which is 3000cc and fully loaded with climate control ac. I'm really impressed how this babe perform as a van!! I never thought that I would love to drive a van. But my mind totally changed after driving it. I totally agree with every detail you provided in the review. Really comfortable in long journeys. It's not comfortable as a car, but there is a totally different way how a Hiace handles the potholes or bumps: It just gives a boat like feeling when hitting a pothole, softening the sudden impact. This is totally different from a Hilux. And man the engine is a devil on mountains. I did a few risky overtakes on a hilly road and this babe pulled like a demon. Really impressed how she performed as a van. Would really love to drive something like an Alphard.

@Hyaenidae Thanks buddy. I might have ended up crashing the car into a bike on that moment. I remember a car maker once said as a motto of a particular model as something like this 'designed for the driver inside you'. But for the Axio Hybrid we should change it as 'designed for the dead man inside you'

A comprehensive honest review which this car deserves !! Good work ! 121, premio/Allion haters might not like this though ?
Thanks mate. I really appreciate the 121 for it’s driving. Easy to drive but the engine has considerably more oomph than other 1.5l cars due to resetting the ecu and flooring for about 20 minutes. This made a considerable difference. I don’t specifically hate any car, but I really can’t bear with the people who put all kinds of racing quotes decals on Marutis and wagon r s. Also there are people who owns these Allion 240’s and just 1.5l econoboxes have their fb bio as “racing is my soul” “street racer”. Even saw a Premio in Wennappuwa area saying that “speed is my greatest asset” and laughed from my a**.

When it came out in the early 2000s the 121 was a a bit of a novelty for the local car buyers in terms of design etc...remember it was introduced into a market of 110's FB14's etc so the interior, features as well as the fuel efficient engine was quite a hit and back then I remember being in one and appreciating the good space in the front compared to my dad's B14. The 121 was probably the most popular model of corolla here. Sadly due to the extreme popularity 90% off these cars were used as a trade-able commodity hence the derelict state they're in.
Yup, I remember when the 121 came out. I have to say that even in most of the Toyotas like Axio,Allion and Premio have improved what was in the 121. Engine is the same but feels much different than the 121. Gearbox is different. But overall the suspension system has only minor changes. When driving the current car most things remind me of the 121.

I’ll probably consider about it. From where did you get it?
BTW I agree with konos. Nice interior? And those leather covers really blend well. What about adding a polished aluminium trim? Will look nice with the contrast?

The reflection you get on the windscreen is caused by dashboard polish applied to the dashboard
Nope mate. I never used dashboard polish. It is existent on my Allion too. But there is a special 3M tint to eliminate that and costs about 13,500.

Unbiased, no-nonsense and to-the-point.
My favorite pastime is reading vehicle ownership reviews on team-bhp, elakiri.com, and AL forums - to be honest, this must be the most phlegmatic review I have ever come across if you don't mind me saying so
Not at all mate?I really appreciate your comments. This is just a review about one of the cheapest cars made by Toyota Japan. But still I love the car very much. I had great memories with it. Went to some of the most important occations in my life in this car. So I really love it. Saw it even in a dream a few days ago Love is a personal thing, so better not to mention about it?
