  1. I changed ATF at Automiraj and it cost around 15K ( I can't remember the exact amount). There is a specific type of oil to be used for Vitz search it in the forum before getting it replaced. If you are doing it at agents it would cost around 25K.
  2. I remember reading in the manual that it needs above octane 88. I initially used 95 and later switched to 92. There is no difference in mileage as far as I could see or any visible effect on driving.
  3. I've been using Vitz 2007 for last 3 years and I never had any major problem still. I drive to work every day and have taken the car for long distance (Jaffna & Trincomalee) on a couple of instances. The car never let me down. In Sri Lanka, people will close their eye and buy Toyota in 2nd hand market lol.
  4. One day I had the same problem with my Vitz and I found that I didn't properly release the handbrake ???
  5. I have a 2007 Vitz (SCP90) U Grade 1300 CC and it has done 89000KM as of now. I would like to do the ATF change. I'm worried about doing it Aut* M**aj (where I frequent for services) as it'd need some technical skills (calibration). Would it be a good choice to go to Agents or you think our local people can sort it out without messing up things? Thanks in advance.
  6. I'd go for Vitz for both driving pleasure and visual pleasure. I don't want something like a van parked in my house PS: I own Vitz btw.
  7. LoL. IKR, I've been reading many conversations at forum time to time. Actually it was not him who did the job. He was not even around, another guy did it. When I asked about him, he told me that Mr. .Slyvi is upstairs and he is doing just fine.
  8. Thanks guys for the insightful answer. I understand what is full insurance means for a car now especially for a 10 year old car. Quick Update I went to Mr. Sylvi's place at Kollutpittiya today and got the crack patched up with resin for 5K. For me it's a better option than paying 80K for brand new glass or 12K for a duplicate glass. Worth the risk I suppose. The guy at workshop guaranteed that it wont' spread and car windscreen will be just fine. Even if there are any problems in the future, they'll fix it without any additional charges (free of cost).
  9. Kalutara place quoted 12.5K for the windscreen. They said it's imported from Japan but I highly doubt it. It should be either made in Sri Lanka or imported from China / Taiwan etc.
  10. Thanks @Rumesh88 & @trinity These J******thi guys asked me to pay 80K while they incur 40K. I'm in a bad position compared to your friend. I think the whole idea is somehow fool the customer and bring the value below the premium customer paid. This is really unfair because I don't have anyone inside or any political or other sort of connection lol. I had to either chipout from my pocket (which is unlikely for the 80K at the moment as I had to pay another 45K for the leasing in the same time this month). I think I'll give them a visit and ask about it again. I don't think it'll do anything in the end as they'll repeat the same crap they said over the phone. Sir car eka 10 years old ne.. eka thama.. bla bla... It's really pathetic but I'm stucked with them for next 3 years too as I can't change the insurance company till the leasing is over (which is another 3 years).
  11. Two years back I did it. Actually NDB did it on behalf of me. They did the double ownership transfer on single day. But there was a penalty associated with it, and unfortunately I end up paying it. We should avoid these open paper idiots and it only brings more trouble than any good.
  12. Update as of now. The estimation from TL is around 120,000 out of it insurance said they'll pay only 40K. So I'll have to pocket out 80K. I could have afforded it if atleast 50% out of 120,000. So I'm planning on heading towards Samarasinhe or Kaltura Windscreen over the weekend to get another estimation... Sigh! Quick question When I called Samarasinghe they said they can do the windscreen change for 16,500 LKR. Is it even possible while TL quoted 120,000 LKR??
  13. Thanks guys. That makes sense. This is my first time with insurance claim etc etc. Appreciate your responses. I'd update the thread on what happened on this issue.
  14. I have full cover insurance for my 2007 Vitz which is on NDB leasing right now. Last week I met with an accident where something hit my windshield as I'm driving and there is a small crack on the top which is hardly noticeable from the distance. But I promptly called the insurance and informed them. The agent came and checked the vehicle. Later I went to Toyota Ratmalana and got the estimations and submitted the same at JanaS**** office. Today I got a call from insurance company saying the estimation is amended and the same sent to Toyota office. Now I just don't get what should I do next. Everytime I call them, they give contradicting answers. After reading the threads here, I'm having a nightmare thinking whether I"m being so naive and in the process of being scammed by the company What should be the next step ideally? Should I bring the vehicle and pay the amount at garage or insurance company will pay the amount onbehalf. My head is exploding..! Please help.
  15. Hondama wade. People like you should go through this and realise by keeping vehicles on open papers you are ruining yours and others peace of mind. Good luck with insurance
