    Rx8 In Plenty

Are the RX8's that are here any good? Coz, I read on many online forums that the ones manufactured before 2005 have some defects. There were many complaints saying, ‘the car suddenly won't start’. There were some comments saying that this is not a car for everyone, and you have to be careful with it. Anyway, the way I got it there is a flooding problem in the earlier releases. Pls don't get me wrong. I simply love the design of RX-8 and respect the Mazda's boldness in going ahead with a Wankel engine.
  12. No worries bro, I ain't gonna buy a set of expensive ground lights. Got a little project on my mind. Will let you know if I succeed.
  13. I guess we can't mix any coolant with water. The way I have heard is that there are types of coolant that you can mix with water and others that you should not mix. I use BP and they recommend, not to mix with water or even top up with water.
  14. Have seen one of these things modified around Ragama 'Thae watta' area, some time back. The engine was mounted on chrome pipes with the bonnet popped-off, funky purple paint n’ stuff... it was one wild ride...

    Rubbing Noice

If you changed the tire width like from 185 to 195 or something your tire may be hitting the mudguards. Try full turns and you will be able to catch the problem. I have seen in some cars, the front wheel is pushed back a little-bit. This is mostly evident on the front left hand side wheels. I queried about this from some wheel alignment guy and he said that it is common in re-conditioned cars. He suggested driving over pavement edges could be the reason for this. In this case also, you might hear a scratching sound when the shock-absorber is being pressed down with weight.
  16. Woweeee! This tire looks good. I wonder they have 205/60/15R. Last time I checked the tire shop had only Bridgestone and Yokohama and both costs 8k+. But this looks impressive... gotta check this one out...
  17. Why don't they mount the motor on some custom made chassis and try, rather than removing everything from a sedan? Some time back I saw some SL guys have created a wonderful machine with a simple chassis.

Got the same question. Can someone shed some light on this. Can't my relatives send me a car as a gift? why can't SL legal system accept that? :'(

  20. Would be most thankful if someone can post info regarding the government tax policies on vehicles. Things like how to calculate the approximate tax based on the engine capacity, fuel type, weight, options, YOM, etc. Have the government published these stuff on the Internet? Thanks in advance.
  21. Talk about the inflation rate man, it is now 18%+ and usually every consumable price is increased by Rs. 2/- once in every 2 weeks Thanks man, I'll check-out the place at Malay street...
  22. I'm planning to get some ground lights, fogs and stuff for the car. Do I have to change the car battery which has higher amperage? e*ide battery sizes According to this there are several battery sizes with almost the same specs ne... A while back I had to replace the car battery and when I queried the battery shop they said there are 3 battery sizes which will fix to the battery bay of my car. I don't recall correctly but they said that they have 35, 45 and 60 battery sizes which provide the same Amperes. Can some guru shed some light on this dilemma?
