  1. Thanks Uditha88... But I know most of my friends are having Toyota Passo, Vitz with 1000cc engines but they pump 90 octane. I still do not understand why this A*W people keep telling to pump petrol with high octane number. If it is not a problem to Hi-Tech Japanese VVTi engines, can it be a problem for Indian engines such as K - Series engines? BR Kasun
  2. Big_D, Good Point... Just need to know why the cars with small 3 pot 1000cc engines are giving instructions to buyers to use 93 octane/ 95 octane petrol? for example, I own a Zen Estilo and A*W instructed me to pump only 95 Octane petrol. Also, the Catalog of the car is having a stamp on it's cover saying "some performance issues observed with 90 Octane Petrol" What is the meaning of "higher compression engines" though? Thannks Kasun
  3. Yeah ! Happy Coz now u are on the track...
  4. Mr. Pericles, Just READ THE QUESTION carefully. the originator of this post wanted a comparison between Viva elite and A-star. So please get back to that domain. compared to those two, I had posted my idea and "cooltempo" has raised his/her opinion. That's all. And Mr. Pericles, I agree with you 100%. But not in this topic. neither A-Star or Viva do not give us "the driving pleasure" or "best pulling power". But regarding this specific post, I think A-Star is better option and that's why i posted such. As a person who played with Nissan Pulser, you may definitely find cars like A-star or Viva as crappies. But be mindful to keep the relevancy when you post. BR Kasun
  5. Hi Harindi, The initial cost will be definitely low in Viva elite than A-Star. But the K-Series engine which comes with A-star will give you more pleasure of driving as well as more fuel savings than Viva Elite. BR Kasun
  6. Hi Big D Actually what I meant was, you cannot save fuel with A/T vehicles if you drive in a hurry. If you managed to get high gears and if you could maintain the RPM below 2K, definitely you can save your fuel. I'm telling this Coz I'm experiencing with my vehicle (Nissan Homy E-24 Diesel with A/T) and it gives 9-10 Kmpl in city with A/C. as per my experience, i can maintain a speed of 75-80 Km/h with 2K RPM. I think to get your vehicle in to high gears in short period of time is comes with your experience. you can use the accelerator pedal to shift gears easily. The fuel saving is highly depends on the way you are Driving. No Matter the vehicle is A/T or M/T. BR Kasun
  7. Sylvi, I guess your van has petrol engine. In petrol engines, people use to say that if your engine is perfectly tuned you could observe some water drops coming out from the silencer. But my concern is, can we say the same to Diesel engines? I've not heard such thing. That's why I'm digging out this. Anyway, for your case, it is absolutely normal and it says your engine is tuned perfectly (if is it petrol) Kasun
  8. @ harshansenadhir, No changes except Air Filter. That was replaced 1 month ago. That's all. @ Sylvi, Good to hear that this is normal. But didn't know for sure. will see.
  9. Thanks Don. BTW is every diesel engine is having this scenario? i mean as you said, the water vapor is coming out from every diesel engine since it is a result of internal combustion? the reason i'm asking is i'm experiencing this since 2 weeks time... BR Kasun
  10. Hi Don, It is Diesel (TD 27 Diesel engine). There are no starting problems. But oil level is slightly going down since it has minor leakage. hence I cannot guarantee about the oil level because of this issue or not. Is there any relationship between engine oil level and this problem???? if so please let me know. Thanks for your valuable reply . BR Kasun
  11. Hi, The best way is to keep the RPM below 2000.
  12. Hi, I have a Nissan Homy (e24) van with Automatic Transmission. Since 2 weeks time, i noticed that some kind of black liquid is coming out from the exhaust in the morning (usually first start). It do not have any smell or not oily. Just like water and dark black colored . Is anybody here came across such situation?? if so, what can be the reason for this?? Do I need to do any replacements or repairs? Looking forward for your reply . Thanks and BR Kasun
