Considering I had a bill of 650k+ (fully claimed),  I am a bit pissed off now for not being able to restore everything back to as it was before. Anyway, whats done is done. I might need to change my insurance policy/ company just in case being ready for a worst case scenario.

What is your insurance agent? Please note that my car is registered as "reconditioned" as it was previously registered in UK before importing here.

Mine's the same case as yours it was registered in japan previously (brand new although) and registered as recondition here.

My Insurance agent was J*n*sh*kti insurance (now taken over by all*a*z insurance)

In my case i was rear ended by two vehicles one behind the other.

I had no issue with them, got my claim without much of a hassle.

  2. The agents really did a good job 100% agree, I had my C-HR rear ended by a truck and the agents took care of it with a hefty bill of 325k. Was 100% perfect no one could find out whether it met with an accident, except for the rear bodykit they refused to replace citing they don't install them. I had to install one from elsewhere.

Got 90% of the value from the insurance.

Spark plugs should have been changed at 40K km I believe (if not iridium)

Check air filter when did you last change it.

    Any change in pulling power.

May be its time for a tune up 6-7 kmpl even in crawling traffic is high for a Vitz

Air filter was replaced in the last service,

Spark plugs were never replaced or checked,

There is a small delay in the beginning of accelaration, but once picked up speed around 60kmph it runs well.

Should i also need a tune up, throttle body cleaning with a spark plug replacement.

    Please advice me

Your inputs are very much appreciated

  4. Hi

My car is a Vitz 2014 KSP -130 model with the 1.0L engine, For the past 2 weeks I am experiencing a high consumption of fuel (92) roughly does about 6-7 kmpl (driving in minimal traffic). All the regular maintenance have been done on time. There is no engine vibration. I am not a heavy footed driver.

Highway fuel figures does about 17-18 kmpl (perfectly ok)

The present ODO is 71,000 km, changed ATF in 45,000 km & no tune up done since i bought the car.

The mileage is genuine since i personally got it from the auction with all auction sheets & Jaai Certificates.

Please give me your valuable inputs & thoughts as to what could be the issue & where i could take it to except the agents.

    Thank you

    Hey,

Didn't they re calibrate CVT after the oil change.

Issue is that. Just changing CVT oil is not enough & cause issues.

CVT re-calibrate has to be done. Then only system identifies new oil pressure, oil capacity, oil weight & do transmission decisions based on new values.

Ask them to re-calibrate. If they don't have that OBD port scanner used for it, do it from outside place.

    issue should go away

How do you Re-Calibrate the CVT????

This vehicle is one of the best vehicles China has designed ever.Looks Volkswagen Tiguan from the front ,Honda CRV from the side and Kia Sorento from the back. It is a seven seater SUV which is quite specious inside with a feeling of full blown SUV when driving. It is rarely seen in the roads yet , however its road presence is elegant .Its 200mm road clearance is very safe for Sri Lankan roads . It has a 1500 cc turbocharged engine with a Punch Powertrain Continuously Variable Transmission which is made in Belgium . This  engine / transmission combination is very economical comparing  what  same range vehicles has .However you should know how to use this CVT to get the maximum benefit of it since it is not just a regular Automatic Transmission.

    Are you even serious!!!?

This might be a little of a noob question but any support will be appreciated!

a few weeks back my car started dropping in the fuel economy and within city traffic at times it used to get stuck on higher gears for some reason so it felt like it was on LIMP mode as i could not get past 35KMH even with the foot fully down. So i went to A*W to get it checked by them. They tried an OBD scan several times and failed to diagnose it for some reason as none of the OBD scanners they had could read the ECU. they did some manual testing like racing the engine and the typical garage bass diagnostic and told me that there is some lock in the ECU and only toyota company will be able to read the ECU with their OBD equipment and that standard OBD2 scanners garages have dont work. I have a Toyota DBA-KGC30 with the 1NR-FE engine (M600 Second Gen) with ISO CAN 11bit ID ECU 2 protocol.

They told me Allion, Axio, Vitz and all have an older ECU model and so they have done scans in them. Apparently as toyota has used a more complicated ECU for post 2013 Cars.

Can anyone tell me if the whole A*W story is complete BS so that they could get away with their inefficiency or is it worth for me to try buying an ELM327 off Alie*press to diagnose the problem by myself at home?

Toyota charges a hefty bill since they take 25K just to service the KDH201, so im sure i can buy 10 scanners off Ebay and give them away rather spending an hour there with a big bill to get a report on my hatch.

Any expert advise on what i could do is appreciated. Also if you know what may cause such a LIMP mode in a toyota?

The issue is about a toyota vitz right???

Then why did you take it to A*W to scan it????

    I've got a 1.2L turbo AWD.

My daily route is from Delkanda to Borella.

During peak hours I get 7-8 KMPL

During non peak hours I get 11-12 KMPL

    Depends on driving style also.

I guess premio has amazing fuel figures in Colombo

This is somewhat what i also get

    Mine is a 1.2L Turbo (2WD)

    City Driving 8-9 kmpl

    Outstation Driving 13-14 kmpl

Highway still not tried out as yet

    Retrieving my old post......

This is the latest situation with exact figures. Fuel consumption figure is almost same as at 5,400 ODO (18.56 km/l) and 59,000 ODO (18.19 km/l).

    * Driving pattern - Always at Eco mode but No caring of fuel.

    * Service and Maintenance cost includes new tire set valued Rs.60,000

Seriously you have recorded all these!!!

Congrats!. Hope you have got correct type of plates for the front. Because conventional number plate activates the front parking sensor results in persistent beep. (Learnt this hard way!)

I had the same issue, front sensor started beeping continuously, took some time to figure it out,

    Got the correct plates later

    Hi guys ,

I have an axio hybrid 2017 WXB.  It was bought brand new and done only 4500kms so far. Couple of days ago pre collision system warning error massage sudenly popped up while driving and persisted thorugh out the journey. It dissapers when switch of the engine and reappears after 2,3km driven.  1st service done 3700km mark at sterlings and scan was normal. I brought vehicle to toyota lanka kandy branch and scan showed error code B124C which did not cleared and the tech guy said he needs some protocols from wattala branch in order to investigate the fault and it needs some time.

Guys, if any of you have an experience relate to such issue kindly value your opinion.

    Thanks

    Hi

I too use an axio hybrid 2016, i had the same issue pre collision system went bong, error messages kept popping up & traction control lights also lighted up. I took it to T@y@ta R@tm@l@n@ & they detected the issue in 1 hour, it was rat/mice attack, eaten up some wires. Everything was sorted out in almost two hours & got a bill of 8,000/=.

I hope the same issue popped up in your vehicle, get it rectified from the agents, anyways keep us updated here.

    Thanks

Actually that is kinda true. I've driven both quite extensively and for the same journey the fuel cost was around the same for both TRH and KDH plus the TRH must have a gem of a gearbox being a petrol with 10 people on board it wasn't under-powered at all.
and to drive the TRH was more comfortable as well, The KDH has a lot of body-roll at least the one i drove but the TRH didn't have it at that extend. I don't know how the maintenance cost will be for both vehicles but re-sale wise the Diesel will be easier to sell, that said it wont be too hard to sell the petrol variant too.

    What you said was correct.

Also Its not hard to sell a TRH, I had hard time looking for one because the petrol variants very rarely pop up for sale not like its diesel variants.

  14. Hello Brother

I use a 2016 model Petrol super GL TRH-200 with a 6 forward A/T Gearbox . I personally feel petrol is way better than diesel.

For diesel KDH you will have to pump super diesel, but for the petrol version you can pump normal petrol, Price of Super diesel & price of normal petrol has a small difference.

Engine is very smooth, feels like you are in a car & has very good pickup.

The fuel consumption of petrol is more or less the same as diesel in KDH.

Service intervals are less in petrol versions & less cost to service them than diesel versions, repairs are very much less compared to diesel ones.

Has a price difference of 10 Lakhs.

  15. Hello Everyone

I own a harrier hybrid 2009 model with 101K on the clock,(not the lexus model) last month when i did a service at toyota lanka ratmalana they said i have a radiator leak & insisted me to replace one with them, but unfortunately they didn't have their stocks.

They asked me to place an order it will take 2 months for them to bring it from japan & get it fixed here for a sum of 150,000LKR.

My friend who went to singapore got me a genuine radiator brand new for the harrier hybrid in 4 days, it costed me only 80,000LKR.

When i took the radiator to toyota lanka they say that they wont be able to fix a spare part brought from outside unless it's purchased from them. Finally they said no.

Now where can i fix this new radiator to my vehicle, Please help me guys as i have no clue to where to get this done.

Please don't mind the grammatical errors.

    Thank you guys.

  16. As NRX mentioned, did you adjust/aim the headlights after fitting the new pair ?

The seller has a rating of 99.6 though :/ same rating as the seller mentioned by NRX.... So should I select an item from NRX's seller or?

No i did not adjust or aim them, may be it could be due to that.

    Let me try that first.

Anyway guys thanks for the idea..
