I've been doing that every since I've had a car as the A/C is permanently left on and I've had no issues yet.

Plus on cars with climate control: The a/c is always on as long as the 'auto' option is depressed and the temperature set, leading me to believed that the manufacturer has designed the car to operate as well as start-up with the A/C on...

      Magnum

Yeah I got climate control and I always leave it on auto. Should do a bit of research on this.

Are the drivers for your laptops firewire IEEE 1394 installed properly? If its Windows 10 try updating the drivers.

      sathyajithj99

      Most probably a safety option.

    4. terrabytetango

      terrabytetango

It's a safety option in case you forget to switch the lights off. I did this for 3 days straight after I bought my car until the security office asked me why I always drove with the lights on. After that, I set the display brightness real low with the lights on, which during the day time is really dim, so I know instantly if the lights are on. I hardly notice the euro style lights on indicator.

  10. Oh now we get to have a cover photo! :3

performance wise? drop in top speed?

    3. terrabytetango

Comfort and handling more noticeable than reduced top speed.

it will still impact your outer tire diameter, which is not good if it is significant

  14. How often should brake pads be replaced on average?

    1. Show previous comments  5 more
    2. Magnum

      Magnum

@sathyajith: I know what that noise is. Its there in my Bluebird as well. theres a small piece of metal in the brake pads which touches the disc when the pads are worn out

    3. Magnum

      Magnum

Isnt there a some kind of average km for the brake pads life time? lets say genuine pads

    4. Davy

      Davy

@Magnum, Depends on usage, so an average km cannot be given.

Consider two identical cars. Car A is driven on a highway while car B is driven on city traffic. Car A's brake pads will last longer due to minimal usage compared to car B, whereas the distance car A travels can be much higher than car B.

  15. Anyone tried Osram Fog Breaker?

  18. India's Ringing Bells has unveiled what is being touted as the country's most affordable smartphone. Dubbed Freedom 251, the Android-powered device carries a price tag of INR 251, which translates into just under $4 at current exchange rates.

      Crosswind

I think its just a marketing gimmick. IPS display, quad core processor alone should cost more than 250 INR. The website says they got more than 600,000 hits so they are upgrading the website now :)

    2. terrabytetango

One can easily swap out bulbs without ever touching the bulb bit.

    3. Magnum

removing/fixing fog lamps on my Hiace was bit difficult without removing the bumper cuz on the right side the air filter sits right behind the fog lamp

  21. So if you increase ur wheel diameter you get higher top speed and if you decrease you get more acceleration is it?

    2. Hoonigan

      Hoonigan

TBT is right, offroaders even gear down (using the diff) to even out the load on the engine. What will affect the suspension is the wheel+tyre weight and alignment

    3. terrabytetango

      terrabytetango

@magnum did you measure the outer diameter of the tire? often it won't be an exact figure since its governed by the sidewall which is a percentage of the internal diameter.

I entered the tyre size to a website and showed the overall size of tyre+rim

  22. The Estima is quite famous here in Aussie, any idea why it never became a hit in SL even though it came in hybrid form? Dont think its that popular in Japan either

Also all wagon type 7 seater vans are registered as cars, even the Voxy/Noah are registered as cars. The Estima being a 2.4L it would have carried the semi luxury tax too.

Only iRage could tell whether its successful in JDM

    3. terrabytetango

      terrabytetango

@magnum the 90s estima came with a 2CT I think. They were registered as cars, i.e. 64 and 65- plates. The Hybrid probably didn't gain any traction because the Noah name plate is more familiar, apart from having more options.

    4. Magnum

      Magnum

Ah I forgot about those old Estima
