  1. Thanks Crosswind for your quick reply. By the way this is transfer from Central province to Western Province and therefore I assume we can get it easily from Colombo or Werahera branch rather than waiting for them to send number plates to divisional secretariat office Please correct me if I am wrong.
  2. Hi, I got my vehicle registration book after a normal transfer (it took more than 2 months) and since province has changed I had to change vehicle number plates as well. Do I have to collect new number plates from Narahenpita head office or from Werahera branch office ? Do I have to bring Vehicle Identity card sticker along with old number plates to get new one ? It was not more than 2 days after receiving new registration book and I am not sure if the plates are ready to issue. Do you think I can get them immediately without a delay within a day ? Looking forward for your advice and thanks in advance. Cheers, Danesh
  3. Well after considering all the facts finally I decided to stick with my good old mechanic. However this mechanic does not have any high-tech equipment that makes me little worried and pushed me to looking for some other reliable place that already equipped with advanced hi-tech tools and techniques For example I asked my mechanic guy to tune-up the engine but his response was negative since he does not have any experiance with EFI - Injector cleaning. I hope due to that reason I might have to go some other place I agree with you regarding big companies since I had similar experience with my previous car (Mazda 323) where I did a electronic chip replacement in delco (distributor) where Pala auto electrical charge be almost Rs. 20,000/= but job was half done since chip was not original there were some acceleration issues. Anyway I appreciate all you guys providing your opinion and suggestions and that was really helpful.
  4. Hi Don, Thanks for your valuable information. Does guy you mention (Sisira) expertise on Toyota ? By the way I heard many people talking about Pitshop and Auto-Miraj (I have never been to those two places for mechanical stuff) but do not know whether this type of mechanical stuff can be done at those places for a reasonable price If you have any experience at those two places let me know.
  5. Thanks for your reply. Yes it is continuous sound going up and down based on acceleration speed. As far as belts concern they all in good shape. Yes I am also guessing problem might be with crankshaft damper. If that is the case do you think this can be fixed any local garaj bass ? or should I visit any reputed company for this job. By the way "racer" should be corrected as "race bearing" - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Race_(bearing)
  6. My Toyota Vitz (YOM 1999) with VVT-i (1000cc) engine giving some humming noise from crankshaft pulley area (where the belts can be seen) other than to engine sound. Please note this is not the sound from a damaged belt but clearly a noise from a racer bearing I guess. Please advice what could be the cause and I appreciate if anybody suggest good place to repair this type of mechanical job close to Nugegoda or Maharagama area.

    Nissan Beetle Ak 12

Can any one let me know what was the current price for reg number KB-XXXX or KC-XXXX 1300cc AK12 model while assuming body and engine condition 100%.
  8. We need current market price index for most common vehicles at least update once a week. Many people got in to trouble without knowing actual market price for the vehicle they going to buy. If some one can update this weekly I would like to provide space and resources for this. Guys we can discuss this in detail how to implement such index.

    Nissan Beetle Ak 12

Hi Guys, I have followed the market price for AK 12 for last few weeks and it seems like Auto Lanka (web site) prices are far more above the average (17K to 18k) for 1000cc and 1300cc with auto gears. I have inspected few cars and had a test drive and driving experience was superb. However when I ask regarding fuel consumption owners are telling it works 17KMPL after they did engine tune-up from Mag-city. Before the tune-up they say it was just 10 to 12 max I still doubt that Some of my friend told me it works only 8 to 10kmpl max in city limits. Correct me if I am wrong. Cheers,
  10. Yes this one looks great. Thanks for the tip !!!
  11. Ok it seems like 4X4 price must be gone higher. Before this Mazda car I had a 4DR5 short wheel jeep and later I sold that and shifted to this car (after my marriage) Anyway I was used to travel outstations frequently specialty safari type and therefore I would need 4X4 as well.
  12. Hi Big-d thanks for the reply. Its true this is old and some spare parts very hard to find and even it is available cost is high. This is carburetor model (not EFI) and therefore I guess it is time to move some thing new technologically advanced vehicle. I would rather like double cab or land-cruiser to be my next target and I guess that would be more than 12 laks (not sure). I love this Mazda but what can we do without spare parts
  13. Hi all, I own Mazda 323 BG3P Year 1990 model (18-xxxx) car that has A/C and P/S and recently I did complete engine repair + tinkering / painting and I was wondering whether to keep this car for another 2 or 3 years or shift to some other vehicle. I have no idea how the current market price for this model and It would be very helpful if some one can advice on this matter. Cheers, Danesh
