  1. Axia and the Wigo are more or less in the same class with the buyer ending up paying more for the Toyota name plate.  Peroduas are time tested tough cars with simple mechanics quite suited our conditions. If fuel is a huge concern the Wagon R would make sense but do a calculation and see the total cost of ownership. Sri Lankan car buyers place too much emphasis on the fuel efficiency IMO... if it was me I'd go for the Axia.

Hi , my budget is 5.5 million max and what is the best cars or crossover I could get in that budget. And since I live in nuwaraeliya it should be friendly with the mountains . After some online search i have come across

    1.Honda civic SR 2017

    2.Suzuki scross sx4 2017

    3.Honda grace 2014/15

4.Honda vezel 2015... are there better options. please help me choose the best option..

At 5.5 I assume you're looking at a registered SR but I don't think you can get a SX4 for that price unreg - and are there already used ones for sale? So few of them came in I'm surprised that there are some for sale.

How bad are the roads in your area? Average colombo/suburb roads are ok with the civic - but maybe it won't do well with really bad roads. Mountains - I haven't done Nuwera Eliya yet but the civic is okish on average hills so far - turning off eco mode would help.

As mentioned above a used Mazda 3 would also be good choice if you can find one. If your roads are really bad consider a used SUV/crossover.

    Guys,

I'm looking to buy a car with a budget of 2.6,7 mn. Any suggestions?

thought of buying a Honda (civic ES5) or Mitsubishi (lancer). I've been told that better to go for 1500 cc or less capacity vehicle.

Since this is my first hands-on experience in buying a recondition vehicle, seeking your expert advice on this.

    Thanks

Both are nice cars. You will probably be able to source a newer lancer for that price.  If you are buying a  lancer try to get the 1.5 or 1.6 L one cs2/cs3.

    Hi all,

My car is Allion 240. Since last 6 months, i m experiencing a considerable reduction of engine oil  soon after a service  i m using 10w 30. Milage indicate as close 180000. Should i change the oil type or is there any thing that i can do?

other than the reduction of engine oil do you notice anything else? excessive blackness in the exhaust ?

In the interest of keeping the thread going :)

This is a car with a serious identity crisis. The crisis is so bad that it had one manufacturer's logo on the grille and the boot and another manufacturer's logo on the steering wheel :)

There's at least one of them in the exact same colour, in Sri Lanka..

Daewoo Kalos -  came as Holden Barina as well as many other GM variants .

BTW @Crosswind  what logo did it have on the steering wheel? Chevy?

    Hi all,

I am planning to buy a car with a budget around 2.8 mn.  currently I am driving a 2008 Vitz, thought of selling it and go to a newer car (YOM after 2015) like picanto, axia or wagon r.

For a fact I know Wagon R has the best mileage out of the three car. Mileage is my least concern. I am more concerned on safety, driving pleasure, cost of maintenance, resale value and nice exterior and interior.

I was planning to buy a Wagon R, but after speaking to few mechanics I had to change my mind. All of them gave negative feedbacks. Issues in sensors, malfunctioning options etc. Is this true??

Out of three options what will you recommend.

    Thank you in advance.

Out of the three my personal favorite is the Picanto - it's a well put together car AND there is a nice 5 year warranty from the agents - even if you buy a slightly used once chances are that it is still under warranty. The Axia - which also came to SL as a brand new car is a solid option.  Nothing against the Wagon R but I think for 2.8 you're looking at a used one and there are far too many taxi-driven/rented Wagon Rs that have their odo's tampered regularly out there to be comfortable about your purchase.

What is the best recondition japan car under 25lacks?

    Special:- fuel economy

Now this is a very subjective question - you have to be specific. Are you looking for a Sedan/Hatch or is it that you don't have a proper idea but you have 2.5 Million and want any car that does really well in fuel - in that case a Kei car is your best bet I think you can manage a 2015 Mira for that price.
