  1. Well even though it's apparent electric cars will be the future whether we like it or not - SL wouldn't be the the best place for an EV ...not just yet. If I was forced to buy a b/new EV I'd look for other options for example there are some EV's imported from the agents where they give a warranty as well I think MG, and Hyundai agent's have the ZS ev and the kona and D#MO are also offering some chinese brand with a very long warranty period.
  2. Now there's nothing wrong with the Mark X or the civic ( I thought the Mark X is outta your budget) just go what your heart tells you to otherwise you will hate yourself for not getting what your heart wants ?
  3. I see so many advertisements where the seller is mentioning that the prospective buyer can settle the lease so does it mean it's not anything formal and simply an understanding between the buyer and the seller?
  4. Some nice cars in your list - We had an A33 in the family and used to be a very comfy car so I expect the same from the newer generation . I'd avoid the premio since they're quite old at this point and likely to have been abused BUT there are some prime specimens out there but it's really difficult to find a well maintained genuine model. I'm a bit biased so take my recommendation regarding the Fd1-FD4 with a pinch of salt - those are really nice cars to drive. All things considered since it's a first car I would recommend the 141 since it's an honest hard working car that would just run... you could spend a little time and find a b/new imported one that has been well maintained and get it. IT's a bland car, and it doens't have too many fancy bells and whistles but will get you from A-B without any hassles. So to sum up - 141 > Civic > The nissans>Premio To get it checked take it to the joint in Nugegoda - they're fairly ok if it's a Toyota even Toyota L#nka do a checkup it costs 7000 if i remember correctly.
  5. 28- and 40- were not at all rare or strange. You can see these on many trucks. Most of the early Datsun/Nissan pickup trucks too came with 28- plates
  6. Between the two I'd go for the viva elite since it's newer and since it's a fun little car to drive. A similarly priced passo would be a bit more older. For a first car something simple like an elite will be a good choice.
  7. Since you are ok with indian hatches you might as well consider something like a March K11 those are bland but reliable cars that have been around for ages. You will be probably able to get a late 90s model for your budget specially since you're looking for a manual ( manuals are a lot cheaper)
  8. Interesting - an uncle of mine had a Passo earlier and recently imported a vitz he claims the passo is quieter.
  9. Nothing horrendously bad that I know of - the early 2000's Korean cars (Hyundai /Kia) were not on the same level of durability as their Japanese counterparts However they're not as crappy as Indian cars. I do not know of any specific issues with Auto gear boxes of the Kia Rios as far as I know this generation of Rio has a A/T box developed by Mazda and one that was previously used in Fords and Mazdas.
  10. The KSP 130 is the 1000 CC 3 Cylinder version. NSP 130 is the 1300 CC version with 4 cylinders and is quiter, more powerful and smoother. However due to the tax structure very few NSP 130's are imported since you're paying a huge Tax. There are a few 2011-2012 NSP 130's around. SCP90 was the previous version 1300 CC model (upto 2011) P.S : Just go through this and you will get an understanding on the various models etc http://www.goo-net-exchange.com/catalog/TOYOTA__VITZ/
  11. For a fairly economical mile muncher the Axio would be the obvious choice. If you want a little more engaging driving experience you can try the Civic (FD1/FD4) or the axela. You might lose a little bit of fuel economy. The G11s a fairly comfy car -( never driven just travelled in one) Forget the Allion its too old to justify the price tag and finding a genuine car would be about as hard as finding an honest politician.
  12. Being a 3 cylinder engine Yes it is a bit noisy and has a bit of vibration this is normal with most 3pot engines.
  13. Please don't open a thread for each question... there's already a thread you created for the same car. @Davy can you please delete this thread since the question is also quite a useless one. @Praveen_Auto color preference is subjective. just buy a color you like...I don't get why Sri Lankans are obsessed with the next buyers tastes than his own ?
  14. He decided at one point that the best vehicle for him was a 2010 allion - and i encouraged him to go ahead and buy it.
  15. Spare a thought for us folk with engines that require 95 Oct or above ? ...
  16. So did my first service today at 4800 K's and this is the oil I went for . The service was fairly ok - i was at the service area keeping an eye on things. There was a lot of bad rep of late on this forum as well as FB - they did most things right but forgot to mark on the service booklet - and just simply OK'd everything else and put the oil filter as replaced and engine oil as changed - a worrying practice done at almost all places in SL. On an unrelated note: Been going to the Honda agents since 2015 and for the past few years the place was always full of Fit's and Vezels which now seem to be replaced by Civics and CRV's - possibly since the novelty factor has worn off and/or most of the Fit's Vezels are now with the second generation of owners - hence they've either decided St####d are crap OR decided the gaha-yata service station is better for their bargain price Hybrid [more likely]
  17. That's low monthly mileage. No point in going for a hybrid. Get yourself a Vitz not as loaded as an aqua but gets you from A-B without a lot of hassle.
  18. To add to alpha's comprehensive list - Vios 2003/2004 , Bluebird Sylpy (2006-2008), Axela (2004/2005)
  19. @hustlehard - Have you actually gone and inspected these vehicles? If not go visit a few sellers - test drive a vezel, test drive an outlander, an allion, premio, and whatever car that comes to your mind usually you will feel differences in each and you will feel you like one more than the others - that's what you should buy.
  20. Yeah you might ..if the car has been tuned well and you drive it properly (this does not mean going slow! 55-60 kmh constantly maximizes fuel economy). 1998-1999 would be at the newer end of the spectrum so you might be able to get a decent specimen and the late 1990's cars were usually rock solid. The tercel was discontinued after 1999 and replaced by the soluna in 2000.
  21. Happy to hear the fix is sort of common now and people get it done. There has been a bit of bad rep for the car of late hope it get's the true recognition for being a very rugged and exciting little car - probably the last model to retain the genes from the original fit of the early 2000's . with the issue fixed - it's a wonderful car very nippy and perfect for our traffic and narrow roads : I sometimes miss [i sold mine last year] the fits nimbleness specially when driving in narrow roads in rush hours. It was my wife's favorite and she still complains she misses it's city driving dynamics.
  22. The first thought I get is that you should stick to one thread for all your questions - you're creating threads for each car that comes in to mind. Stop that! You've swung like tarzan from Vezels, to other SUV's to premium cars and now to an Allion - and you created threads for each and every one of them! Yes Allion is the absolute best you can get for 4 Million. Go and find one that has done only 69,000 Km. That's what people have been doing on your other threads for the past couple of days.
