  1. It's time to change the ATF in my Suzuki Swift 2008. Last two times I have got it done at A*W, thinking of getting it done outside this time. The manual mentions oil type as Suzuki ATF 3317 or Mobil ATF 3309. I found Mobil 3309 1L for around Rs. 2000. The invoice for last ATF change from A*W (2 years back) mentions: 8L of BP-AUTTRAN DEX/MERC?? costing Rs. 6154, if I use Mobile above, it will cost around 16,000 for the oil itself. Is there an option to get the ATF oil cheaper outside, or would it be better to get it done by A*W? BTW, I guess the last change (at 96k) was a flush since it took 8L. This time (at 130k) would a ATF change be enough?
  2. A suggestion on the "make" dropdown. Currently out of the first 6 options, only one has any vehicles listed: Abarth, Acura,Alfa Romeo, Aprilia, Audi, Austin. Can't you move the makes without any vehicles to the end of the list, or remove them from the drop down?
  3. I believe Dialog satnav is just City Guide rebranded by dialog. See:http://www.dialogsatnav.com/ City Guide is good, but their license is tied to the phone imei, so you have to buy it again if you switch devices. Nokia recently released Here Maps for android for free. You can download the full map and use it offline. Even directions are calculated offline. I think google maps still needs to be online when calculating directions.

According to the link I shared (http://www.nation.lk/edition/news-features/item/27302-eu-funded-study-finds-high-lead-levels-in-paints-in-sri-lanka.htm) a majority of paints contain high levels of lead. This study was released on March 2014. Specially note that 25% of the tested have more than 10,000 ppm. No brands are mentioned. Laws regarding lead levels in paint was introduced in Sri Lanka in 2011, to be effective from 1/1/2013. (http://www.unep.org/chemicalsandwaste/Portals/9/Lead_Cadmium/docs/GAELP/SecondMeeting/Interim_UNEP_AIST-as%20of%2018Sep-final-clean.docx). I read on this when before my daughter was born, therefore still have some bookmarks from that time. @Don: If you know of a brand who use water based paints, let me know. Planning to repaint a room sometime.

I recommend researching the Lead levels in paint and finding a brand with low levels. See: http://www.nation.lk/edition/news-features/item/27302-eu-funded-study-finds-high-lead-levels-in-paints-in-sri-lanka.html For some reason it's not well known issue here in Sri Lanka, but lead levels in paint are strictly regulated in developed countries. It is said to be a big health issue, specially for young children.
  6. Somewhat OT but can anyone recommend a good car holder for a phone and or 7 inch tab? Not the type that attach to the windscreen with a suction cup. I have seen some on amazon that attach to the CD slot (http://amzn.com/B004G1L52Q)? I don't mind covering the cd player. Anything like this available locally?
  7. Thanks. Being eyeing this myself for sometime. I like the fact that it will get Lolipop when it comes out.
  8. Is this the 2nd Gen (2014) Model?

  11. You are referring to the "V I P" toilets inside the main building. There are separate non-V I P toilets in the low building located on slightly high ground and to the left as you enter the rest area. These are free. There is a sign pointing towards it if you look carefully. These are also clean and spacious, and with natural light. I have been using them since the rest area opened. (photo from http://www.yamu.lk/place/southern-expressway-service-area-canonwin-arcade.html) ps: Why is autolanka blocking the word V I P ?
  12. During the recent rains, I noticed water drops from the roof of My Suzuki Swift (the new model). This was just above the windscreen, near the sun visor, on the passenger side. I recently brought the car and this is the first time it has seen rainy weather. I'm guessing that it's a problem with the rubber seal between the roof and the doors. Would value any help to figure out where the leak is and getting it fixed.
  13. This site seems to be simply reusing google maps directions. See the google maps link for Kandy to Kattankudy: http://g.co/maps/pzuzg
  14. It is possible to convert a foreign driving license to a Sri Lankan license. You can use the one day service. Some information is available on this thread: http://www.autolanka...riving-license/ The www.motortraffic.gov.lk site also has some information: http://www.motortraf...mid=146〈=en I recently converted my US license to a Sri Lankan license.
