How about a BMW E30 316i? -
Good point, didn't think of that angle. Thanks CP!

Yes indeed! Still this R1 - http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=58648 advertised not having a valid license plate (or is it hidden) is a concern. Is it a good buy at that price? Say compared to this mint looking CB4 - http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=59875 Thanks!

@GMI -Thanks for bringing this post back to life, would've missed it otherwise. Any updates on this, and the other special projects?

Nice thoughts; what could be the best 'bang for buck' RWD available here? To keep it interesting, anything below 1 million. :-)
-
Wow! Are there 205 GTI around? That's one epic hatch, as I've read and seen in videos.
-
Thanks Supra! Appreciate your suggestions, and like all of them except the Astina. :-) Now the hunt begins.

Wow, just the thread I was looking for. Looking for a car with character within a range of Rs.500k - 750k. The below specs are borrowed heavily from http://www.autocar.co.uk/blogs/anythinggoes/archive/2011/07/04/i-ll-buy-your-car.aspx I will listen to any suggestions, silly or otherwise you have in mind for me. I have an irrational liking for Mini lately. Condition. Well the body does not have to be A1 as I plan to use it daily with a max commute of 10 kms. Powerplant. Petrol please and the size of the engine is irrelevant, but a large characterful one will be fine, as would a small eager one. Bodywork. I will take a saloon, a coupe, a hatch, or even a huge estate. Fuel consumption. I don't give a damn, smiles per gallon matter more than mpg. Thanks, and look forward to your suggestions.

Sorry for OT, but is there a Chevy Camaro in 'bumblebee' colour here?
-
Thanks Don, will look around. It'd be good value at 1.3 mil for sure.
-
Would this - http://autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=50541 be considered good value? Jimny is an intriguing choice for a small 4WD city runabout able to go off-road on weekends. But thought it was overpriced.

Saw an unusual color R35 on FB; the white one was there as well. Am I correct in assuming its the one?
-
Guess its a combination of 'Best Car Movies' and 'Movies with great car chases'. I've added couple of motorbike flicks into the mix. - Cars (Animated) - Climb Dance - Transporter - Grand Prix - Rendezvous - The Fast and The Furious - The Dukes of Hazzard - Vanishing Point - Faster (documentary on MotoGP) - The Fastest Indian

Thanks for the nice post, and that's just one of the best looking (and sounding) engine of all time. Went to check out another 164 with the V6 a while back, and was wondering 'what the fuss' was; till it was started up,'what a glorious sound'. If I had the dough, would've got it on the spot.
