  1. Guys, thanks so much for your replies, really appreciate it a lot. I've done a scan from Toyota Lanka and the error code found was "P0A2E" with description "Drive Motor "A" Temperature Sensor Circuit Intermittent" They have cleaned the connections/ports and the warning light is no longer there, have done a test drive for about 10km and the warning light has not come up. They mentioned that a thin layer of oxide was blocking the connections/ports which would've caused this error What do you think ? any other expert opinion ? what else needs to be checked further ?
  2. Thanks Jor-el, for your quick reply sorry for opening the same thread here Kindly advise what could be the issue ? Also where do you recommend I can take the car for a check up ? Hybrid Motors or Toyota Lanka OR is there some where better than both of these places ? Regards Nuwan

I have attached a picture of the dashboard with the warning sign displayed. Please respond soon, thanks Nuwan

    Transmission Fluid

Dear Freinds I know this is a very old post but I'd like to share what I found about the ATF, my car gets closer for a change in auto transmission oil therefore I was quite intersted to know what is the oil that should be used. All my Mazda's were maintained by Mazna motors but I wanted to check with few other places as well just to check what they say I have a Maxda Axela 1.5cc (JDM) 2010 model that typically has the CVT gear box unlike Mazda 3 that has something not CVT (Guys I dont know what it's called) So what I've found from Colonial Motors is that they do not have the oil that suits CVT gear box, they only have the oil that suits Mazda 3, that is ATF-M-V (V is for roman number five not the letter "V"). I checked with the engineer at Baththaramulla Colonial Motors workshop I checked with Asiri Motors and they also have ATF-M-V, but the guy I spoke with have no clue/knowledge at all that there are 2 types of gear boxes and the same oil cannot be used, they say ATF-M-V can be used in my car but I highly doubt it Finally I checked with Lalith (Mazna motors) and he mentioned that for CVT gear box there is a specific Mazda genuine CVT oil that should be used and he has it So I think ATF-M-V will not always suit your gear box, you need to check the type of gear box whether it's CVT or other and based on that select the gear oil, and I feel Mazna motors is the safest choice since the guy knows about it Let me know your view/opinion guys cheers nuwan

  7. http://www.lankabusinessonline.com/fullstory.php?nid=1318067502 Tax Changes 1 Comment(s) 25 Apr, 2011 12:54:40 Sri Lanka raises taxes on imported vehicles Apr, 25, 2011 (LBO) - Sri Lanka has raised import duties on several categories of petrol-engined cars and three wheelers with steeper increases seen in larger hybrid vehicles, which had exceptionally low taxes earlier, officials said. A senior Treasury official said there were revisions on several categories of vehicles. On petrol cars with standard engines with capacities below 1,000 cubic centimeters the effective total tax rate will go up from the current 95 percent to 120 percent. Between 1000 to 1,600 cc the effective rate will go up from 119 to 128 percent. On three wheelers the effective rate will go up from 38 percent to 50 percent. On hybrid cars with engines below 2,000 cubic centimeters total duties will go up from 38 percent close to 50 percent. Deputy director general of customs Ajantha Dias said an excise duty was raised by 8.0 percent on small hybrids but it will take up the total duties by a larger amount when added together. On hybrids between 2,000 to 3000 cc duty will go up close to 75 percent and above 3,000 cc to 100 percent. In the past two months about 3,000 hybrids have been imported to the country, Dias said. At the current rates even the large hybrids are taxed at a lower rate than smaller petrol cars. Update III

    Mazda Axela

Guys, I drive a manual 2005 model Axela and she does around guaranteed 11.5 km/litre in city and 14 to 14.5km/litre outstation I don't speed much and always drive keeping rpm less than 2 or 2.5, your driving style also counts a lot in fuel consumption But most of the people I know who own triptronics complain that it's max 9 to 9.5 they get and that I feel quite normal for an automatic Cheers Nuwan
