  1. You have a loose accessory belt. You can tighten it or apply some v belt spray. Sent from my GM1911 using AutoLanka.com mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  2. Did you do a compression test? Do a compression test and check all 4 cylinders. And are you sure that oil is not leaking from somewhere else? Are there any oil stains in your garage Sent from my GM1911 using AutoLanka.com mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  3. Guys, I've used fuel system cleaners on all my previous cars and had good results with 3M and Wurth products. However all of them were non GDI cars. I currently have an Scross 1L turbo. No particular issue in general but its nearing 30K and i want to keep it running smooth. Whats the wisdom on using fuel system cleaners on GDI car? Im asking specifically because ive noticed on previous cars that the engine has a bit of a loss in power and slight knock when these are added. Cant seem to find anything online on this either.
  4. Sometimes in older gen cars you need specialized software to read. I had a BJ5P which didnt have the odb2 plug like yours. Most of these cars are running obd2 protocols but dont have ports. I had to use an app called FORscan to get it working, never worked with torque or any other app. Maybe there is one specific to Toyota.
  5. What can I say? Life's been tough after the end trio left top gear. But on a serious note I don't think I will be paying more for the same thing just because it's a sporty brand. Sorento is a bit too big for my liking. It has a bit of an uncle vibe to it too.
  6. Hi Guys, Long time no see ? So im interested in buying an compact suv for around 4-5 million range. Currently my main options are the tucson and sportage. Im thinking of going for a crdi awd. Not that i will be going off road but i might end up traveling out of colombo in some rough roads so the ground clearance will come in handy. Looked at a few past threads but most are too old to get anything useful. 1. Are there any know issues in these 2 ? 2. I sort of like the facelift over the 2011 model. Was there anything other than lights that they had changed in the facelift ? 3. Also was there a turbo and non turbo variant of the CRDi 4. Any other options you guys think i should consider ? Im not too worried about fuel economy and numbers but needs to be reliable. And can someone explain to me why the sportage in general has a higher asking prices than the tucson, considering they are almost identical ?
  7. Best case, Atf is old and is too thin. Worst case your reverse clutch pack is worn out. It's better get a repair done than to buy a recon gearbox. Try changing the Atf first. Sent from my FLA-LX2 using AutoLanka.com mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  8. That doesn't sound normal unless you are on an incline. Might be an issue with the gearbox, better get it checked. It can also be something simple like break binding but better safe than sorry. Sent from my FLA-LX2 using AutoLanka.com mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  9. That's why you should always use jack stands Sent from my FLA-LX2 using AutoLanka.com mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  10. When did you repair the gearbox? If its within 6 months they will repair again. Check with chandana. Sent from my FLA-LX2 using AutoLanka.com mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  11. The price seems quite ok but are you sure about the mileage? A. 10 year old car that has only been driven 5000km every year? Have a look at the previous emissions reports and check the mileage. Also personally, lady driven and doctor driven are two of the biggest red flags for me. I know people in this category who don't even know how much air needs to be pumped into their tires. I would be extra cautious of the previous maintainance records, mainly check the Atf change intervals. Sent from my [device_name] using http://AutoLanka.com mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  12. Idle rpm is "6000" ? [emoji33] Sent from my [device_name] using http://AutoLanka.com mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  13. Have you and the previous owners changed Atf every 40k or did you just change when this issue came? Sounds to me like your forward clutch pack is worn out, take it to Nilwala motors and let them have a look. Sent from my [device_name] using http://AutoLanka.com mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  14. They have projector lights AFAIK. Probably led in them not sure though. Sent from my [device_name] using http://AutoLanka.com mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  15. If you look at the wheels at moment of overturning they are pointed to left. My guess is it was probably overtaking the mazda and getting back into the lane, in the meantime the bus brakes and the Mazda hit it from the left rear causing it to overturn. 16. Ha ha I saw [emoji28]I avoided the forum because I saw an influx of people like well..... Ummmm..... [emoji16]
  17. Well if it comes to replacing the motor it will just cost around 2000-3000. I got one from ebay for $3 though [emoji2]
  18. Lol where have I said anything about sports cars. Sportier cars are not tha same as purpose built sports cars. And are you seriously comparing a rear wheel drive rear engine 911 to a front wheel drive swift? [emoji28] Can you explain this using centre of gravity
  19. Moose tests are done with stability control turned off. Generally the sportier cars tend to do bad since they have faster steering ratios and tend to oversteer. This is not a bad thing if you are a skilled driver. However cars with soft and basic suspension have slower steering ratios designed to understeer on purpose. Don't base your car buying decision on this as you should never turn off stability control. Sent from my [device_name] using http://AutoLanka.com mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  20. Something must be blocking the lock or the motor is weak. It should be a simple fix. Where do you live? Sent from my [device_name] using http://AutoLanka.com mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  21. To add to matroskas comment, I had a manual 1000cc march and a 1.5 auto bj5p familia. I can without a doubt confirm that the familia is far superior to the march in every single aspect including fuel economy. Sent from my [device_name] using http://AutoLanka.com mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  22. These come with android auto right? Why don't your just plug in your phone and use Google maps. Sent from my [device_name] using http://AutoLanka.com mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  23. Coolant missing means that its going into the coolant reserve and overflowing (or entering into the cylinder, worse case scenario). How certain are you that the fans are working properly? And do you see any coolant on the floor after you park the car? Go to a good garage and get them to do a bottle test and a pressure test, they will test for any leaks or head gasket damage. Also when your car overheats you should turn the ac on, not turn it off. Sure there is additional load but when the ac is on it makes sure that the radiator fans are on always [emoji16] Sent from my [device_name] using http://AutoLanka.com mobile app powered by Tapatalk
  24. It should be in overdrive at that speed if you are smooth with the accelerator (4th gear) Gear selection is base on 2 reading, vehicle speed and throttle position. If you are flooring it then the car will go into 3 or 2 and give better torque but if you are just cruising then it should be in OD. While going around 60 turn off OD and see if you notice a gear changed (ideally it should shift from 4 to 3). If you don't notice anything then your OD is not engaging properly.
