  1. I haven't used a Santa Fe myself. I did some research on this vehicle before buying an Elantra few years ago due to budget constraints. This seems to be a very reliable vehicle. Back then I heard about owners in SL who have done over 150k without any major issues. I suggest going for the 2007 - 2012 model since it seems to be worth the price considering the current market.
  2. The one I test drove is 2010. The other one is 2014. The 2010 is going for around 4.7 mil, which is a tad too high don't you think? ---------- Also spotted a Nissan Murano 2009. Any thoughts on that?
  3. Thanks guys for the input. Thanks for the info. I test drove both actually. Optima is quite striking in looks both inside and out. Its a lot of car for the money. Driving experience wise, Teana is very smooth in transferring the power. But the ride quality is really good in the Optima, I assume due to indipendent sus in both front and rear. But my wife liked the Teana, especially since she was at the back during the test drive. However, there were some niggles here and there in the Optima like the airbag warning light coming on and the head lamps seems to have been replaced with cheaper ones, so I hesitated a little. I think its sold now. The Teana is very spacious as you say and the interior is simple and quite pleasing. The car in question has been quite well looked after, at least from the cosmetic side of things. There is another J33 Teana and a SAI that is on sale at the moment, will try to see that as well, but the J33 is currently out of my budget.
  4. I actually looked at a few Lexus', but all had been abused. Its very hard to find a good one. One thing I noticed is that, most of the reasonably priced vehicles are cooped up by resellers within days or hours after advertising and they keep a 3 - 4 lakh margin when reselling in this price range, maybe even more. Actually all the cars discussed here are hard to find. So I will have to keep looking :). My heart is 60% with the teana at the moment, but I am afraid of its reselling potential (especially If I have to keep it for 3 - 4 months to sell). Also due to the import ban, I think there is a sudden demand for registered vehicles now.
  5. Thanks for the suggestions. Hmm.. I didn't like the camry's interior. Felt a bit cheap. The CRV that fits in the range is the 2007, which is quite basic actually. I am looking to switch from a 2011 elantra, which has a really nice interior. Since I spend most of the time looking at it, interior anesthetics are a priority for me. I couldn't find any accords for sale. Will definitely take a look if one becomes available. The cefiro you are referring to is the j31 right? The j32 is looked at is also quite good. 2 things I am contemplating is its resale hassle and the stories I heard about the cvt in general. Is the cvt troublesome in the j32?
  6. Guys, I am also interested for a vehicle in 4-5 mil range. Here are my priorities, - Should have a large boot - Comfortable - Smooth performance (2L engine?) - Reliable (i don't want to spend time on workshops) and parts availability - Nice interior (so no to allion and similar) - Don't mind much about fuel, my current one only does 8-9 within city, so even 7-8 is ok. - Liquidity - I don't mind selling its a few hunded thousand less after 1-2 years use, but should be sellable within a month max. Currently the only ones that interested me was a Kia Optima 2014 and a Teana 2010 J32 2.5 XV. Optima was quite modern with lots of bells and whistles, but had a few issues so backed out of it and I think its gone now anyway. Teana does not have all the bells and whistles of the Optima but still respectable. Any experience on its CVT box and anything I should look for especially? Any expert help on this is much appreciated.

    Tire Air Leak

I had a similar issue, but managed to find it with the water barrel technique after much struggle. There was a small nail inside the tire threads, too small to notice the bubbles if you didn't look hard. In my case I lost about 3-4 units a week with this puncture.
  10. You can also think about the Korean options as well. The Elantra, Cerato, Sonata and the Optima. Reliability wise they are good cars. No issues if you maintain properly. You get better looks and interior than the allion/premio and in some cases better kit as well.
  11. Right after the tax change, the Kurunegala kia dealer had stocks for 2.45mil. I dunno if its the case now. You can check their FB page. They have updated on 9th for the Rio sedan starting from 4.5 upwards, which I think is a good price. https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=967457486702170&id=739497722831482

    Tyre Prices

Brand: Hankook Model: Ventus ME01 Size: 205/55R16 Price: 16500 each From: Universal Tyres Borella
  13. 25000 is a very good price especially considering you got it with GTA V. Was it a used one? Btw try Project Cars if you are looking for a Gran Turismo like experience. Dirt Rally is also an awesome rally sim I'm hooked to right now. Also you gotta try DriveClub. Its available for cheap these days. Its not a full sim, handling is a bit arcadish although more realistic than NFS types. You gotta try it out for the vehicle details!!

    Fuel Efficiency

Vehicle: 2011 Hyundai Elantra Transmission : Auto Engine Capacity : 1600cc Fuel: 95 Octane Consumption: City - 7-8 km/l (in heavy traffic with climate control on), Outstation - 14-15 km/l (As indicated on trip computer) Actual combined cycle hits somewhere around 11-12 km/l. I never topped up immediately after a long distance trip to get the exact value. Usually the trip computer value is around 1km/l optimistic than the actual.
