  1. Error codes stored in the ecu were not there after the reset. car was hyundai elantra.
  2. Even we unplug battery cables the charged capacitors in the ECU will remain charged and will hold up the memory for sometime. Therefore you need to wait until the capacitors discharge. Some say you can do in instantly after disconnecting the battery and then pressing break paddle few times. Since break lights are controlled by ECU it will waist the remaining charge of the capacitors by consuming it at the ECU. This does not mean that ECU will try to light up the break lights from capacitors but it will drain the capacitors by taking their charge to operate ECU itself. I am not 100% sure but it worked on my car. Thanks.
  3. I can't compare these two since I have not driven primera. But 1.6mn for a 2001 sonata is too much. I think it should be around 12 - 14mn for a car in good condition.
  4. Like the 2011 elantra. I don't want to import that car now. I will wait another 1 or 2 years and let it depreciate its value.
  5. Thanks for the information. problem of buying a brand new korean is that after two years time the value will depreciate to 1/3 of its original value.
  6. Hi, Do you know any hyundai importers? (used vehicles). I know there are lot of cars which has been imported from singapore around 2003-2005. But it seems after that only Hyundai lanka(pvt) is the option. If you know any importers please let me know. Thanks.
  7. Which paper? I think Accent is made in India (they call it Verna). But Elantra may be from Korea, not sure.
  8. wow hyundai sonata 8-10 and 12-14. I thought 2.4l engine won't do more than 6km/l. (Used a 2000 one before it only did 7Km/L for a long trip)
  9. hmm, Dodn't know which accent they are talking about. Don't think it is the 2012 model. Anyway they quoted 3.8 mil for a 2011 elantra (don't know the full spces). Anyway how do you know about the fuel consumption in i20. I have heard that accents are also good on fuel.
  10. I'm not getting you. I spoke with them yesterday and they told me that 2011 elantra is available now and approximate time of delivery will be three months. How could they not bringing down any vehicles anymore?
  11. bit out of the thread, but is it normal to have a oily surface near and around intake manifold gasket?
  12. woh, that is quite expensive. anyway where I can find these kind of tool? Thanks for the response.
  13. sorry for digging up an old thread. But does anyone know how much would be a decent torque wrench?
