  1. Does this mean the Montero center-sparewheel is not offered too
  2. So if old tech would last longer what do you think about the 2007 monterosports 4d56(non CRDi) and the Center sparewheel GL montero's 4M40 (2.8 non CRDi)
  3. We have a hyundai santafe manual which has run for around 65 000km, never changed the pads, in the last service when i asked to check them they told that there was enough meat for another 15 000km or more. But it's driven kind of smoothly and not in the Colombo traffic.
  4. The corolla 141(brand new model) is well below you'r budget and dosen't have a dashboard melting issue, That said the Lacer EX is miles better, followed by the FD civic. IMO Lancer EX > Civic FD > 141(brand new model)
  5. As you can buy a civic for that money it would be me who would bring another deke deke polla if you buy a city for civic money. The city is the cheapo alternative to the civic, like the soluna for the corolla. The CS1 will be the best for that budget, then comes the FB15, and if not you could find those a soluna for lot less and spend the rest on beer
  6. Maruti and tata forgot to take their folic acid, Perodua didn't go for dating scans.
  7. If you are lucky you will be able to get hold of a lancer ex for this price or a honda civic FD But my vote will be for the Lancer EX
  8. The lancer is a far better choice, and here you are comparing a top of the range cs with a low grade N17 so again it's the lancer. The N17 is not a bad car but still the lancer will be better
  9. If I were you i'd go for the sylphy, It's more comfortable, a lot better looking, and it's made in JAPAN. As for the vios it's slightly more economical, and has a higher resale value but is NOT made in japan.
  10. I think the best out of the toyotas available for you'r budget is the Corolla 141, As you are doing a low milage per month the slightly lower economy won't matter much, and on the plus side you'll have a relatively new car and it will come in handy as you are using it for 5 years. Additionally it has a lot of space and is comfortable compared to the others in the list. There are a lot of more fuel economical cars of other manufacturers if you don't have toyota tatooed all over you'r brain
  11. As you are planning to use it for about 5 years and if you are going to do a lot of miles in it, The montero sport will be more durable than the sorrento
  12. My 1st option would be the Lancer too I say easier to repair because when the engine is in a big engine bay of a sedan it makes it easy for access. So it's easy to repair. For example once we needed to do a repair on the alternator of our March ak 12 and had to remove the front bumper and it almost took half a day to take the alternator out and fix it back again. The mechanic told that if it was a spacious engine bay it could have been done in less than an hour.
  13. We had a similar problem with a X-trail 2001. The culprit was a soaked air filter due to being parked in the rain. The smoke must have had a "kara ganda"
  14. I would sugest the Pajero 1st jen SWB or the Montero io which is the nonJDM one which dosen't have the GDi engine.
  15. If you havent bought something for 2.3mill, I would say there is nothing better than a 2007+ Lancer CS or a 2007+ Nissan n17 for that price if you are ok with sedans, They are comfortable family cars, will do the around the same on fuel, be easyer to repair and more durable than the hatches and will have more options (most hatches dont even have a rpm meter)
  16. 1. 70 to 100 is a normal amount for the age of the vehicle, there are ones that have done in excess of 160k 3.No 4.Yes cheaper than japanese parts. 5.Rare compared to jap 6.Should pump Super Diesel or petrol, The Diesel manual will do in excess of 14 long distence and more than 12 short distence. 7.Hopeless. But as it has hit the initial depreciation i don't think it will suffer much more. 8. Don't think of using it unless you are a bilatarel below knee amputee. 10. Rusting wont be a problem. Have some deep bruises on ours that havent rusted for years. 11. Switches are great and has a premium feel to it. But the dash board is of hard plastic, the silver trim is suseptible to wear with high use The market value will be 3.5 to 4mill 2. Is kind of not that good, Most needed overhauls at around 100000km it has the same engine 2.2L CRDi as the Sorrento so it will have the same problem too some say it's because they were pumped normal diesel (as even the company didn't tell it needed super till some engines had problems, now they tell its essential), (Ours ran super from the 1st day still only 60000km so still too early to tell it) The clutch life is also around 80000km But other than that the car is excellent,
  17. We have used vehicles both engines but which came as original, not converted, The 4M40 is much more economical and easy to maintain compared with the 4M41, on the downside it's a little bit noisy at high speeds.
  18. Recently found some sound proofing paints and sprays in the internet, wonder how it works, anybody used it, is it available in sri lanka
  19. The money maker seems to have brought down an European vehicle and is trying to make money from it
  20. you are having an pajero io, so why do you need a cedia unit not the io unit
  21. I can remember those days, We bought a Mitsubishi Lancer CB8 was almost twise as much expensive as the same day corolla. Things have changed since then,
  22. it was so boring, I was sparing my nails for some good action between the silver arrows but Ros forgot to tighten his seat belt (as some say). And Hami was having a relaxing sunday drive enjoying the scenery. The thing that kept me wondering is why Hami was didn't come to Putin for a while when Burney and the other drivers where talking with him, he was combing his hair and kind of ignoring the president of the host country ??????
