  1. I'm not a jag expert. But you should have researched a little before spending Rs.435 000 But if he claimed that he'd put brand new and put reconditioned isn't that a fraud that can be punished. So you can take him to courts and get compunsation and also teach him a lesson. If I was doing law I would do that. Also repaired coilsprings may have a safety hazard

    Best Option

Although brand new a cab would not be as comfortable as a jeep So if you had one and this is replasing the family vehicle spot don't go for a cab. For that price you can try to go for a 2013 toyota fourtuner or BMW x3. Or If you are ok with it being little old you can go for a v76 2007 ish Montero unlike the sport it's made in Japan and the 4m40 engine is reliable easy to maintain and would sip normal diesel.
  3. The hyundai accent elentra and kia Rio are in your budget. They are basic cars and kind of reliable for that budget. And has enough space If you don't mind the fuel economy the sonata is also around that mark. If you can spare some time for maintaining it check out Peugeots like 206 307 and 406 there are experts on those in AL they will give you more advice on those.
  4. Nope 5 year non transferable Permit price would be cif+50%of normal duty
  5. What was the car you were using. Did it cater your needs So you could get a one which is in that catagory
  6. Triumphs are very difficult to find in Sri Lanka That's if you were talking about cars
  7. Is it just me or does BR10DE sound like bride.
  8. Don't change the trunk Use that money for a set of transparent lights for the rear
  9. Usually diesels are bought when used for commercial purposes Why not go for a diesel elephantback or caldina. They should be much more economical
  10. It concludes that js is the best right so why vic?
  11. Also consider Lancer ex Honda Fd bluebirdsylphy corolla 141 mazda3 erc... There are much newer and with much less and genuine miles cars than that
  12. I also think that the elephantback or the caldina is the best car for your task I think the caldina comes with better suspension(correct me if I'm wrong ) so would be more comfortable so I think it's a better choice. And from the elephantback (cr108) the L-touring and the G-touring models are more comfortable. So in order caldina G or L touring and if not the normal elephantback
  13. Go for the 141 It's a company brandnew model designed for sri lankan conditions. So less suspension and ground clearance issues. And build quality wise it wasn't it the axios which had the dashboard issues. It has a 4 speed at(like in the 121s) which is less troublesome than the axio cvt which tend to pack up at around 100 000km which the 2008 cars should have done by now. (But I'd chose a cvt over a 4 speed at and do the repairs because of the smoothness but it's not the typical Toyota owner type) Most cars were agent maintained at least half of their life upto now as they were brought company brandnew new with waranty. So there's better chance of a genuine millage and maintenance history. Better rear leg space IMO Better looks
  14. I also vote for exide I had 2 very mildly leaking exide batteries in the past but they replaced without any hassle The main reason is the battmobile they don't ask the brand of battery before they come or force to switch to a new battery of their brand but I think it's our ethical obligation to buy from them because of their service. And they are good batteries. Less expensive than amaron And runs for more than 4 years in our vehicles I use the maintenance free wet type
  15. The petrol xtrail will do worse than that no experience on newer models but the nt30 only did 5-6kmpl If you need a economical suv go for a diesel. A santafe or sorrento slightly use one is in that range
  16. We've been using a hyundai santafe for around 9 years and had no issues till now. It has accumulated few electrical niggles so I decided to fix all those up as I'm having a small vacation. I would like to know of any independent hyundai specialist who can scan the vehicle and do the small repairs. If it's not good to share here pm me
  17. Hey anyone know a good hyundai specialist?

  18. Op just wants someone to confirm his openion and justify himself buying a 121 It seems that Dhork has used a 121 and by his picture likes it. But the thing is he must be using a good one But as the 121s are 16 yrs old now and been gang banged by many owners it will be almost impossible to find a good condition genuine one. In the case of the n17 lancer and similar vehicles we were talking about. They are new and are easier to trace their history. Most 2007+ n17s and lancers were company brandnew ones qhich means they were climatized and They may have been company maintained for at least half of their life and the rest can be easyly traced. There may be emissions certificates to get the millage also. Anyways if the thing you wanted to do is buy a 121 buy one. You didn't need to open a topic if you just consider the one that purely praise the 121 and consider the facts regarding it's competition dumb.
  19. Hondas are famous for their gearbox issues but this early and in this model. Anyway I think you should take it to the agents st@@@d so you can confirm or reject the need for a gearbox change. And I think you should check the prices of the brand new one as its still a new car and will be a peace of mind rather than struggling to get a waranty on a used one.
  20. If you are fitting extras to sell then why not fit it just before you sell it. Personally i didn't enjoy both of those options, had trouble with a not so Smart key in a Premio and i hate when accidentally the malfunction steering gets pressed and the radio turns into usb with a large volume difference while turning the wheel.
  21. 121 vs WagonR is like saying I like Meghan Trainor but im intrested in Taylor Swift too. Personally I'm all about the Bass, so i'll suggest the larger car. But 3Mill for a 16 year old car is outrageous and i wouldn't trust any odometer of such an old car below 150 000km unless the owner has solid proof. After all they were bought for their fuel economy so that makes them run more right. If you need the trips to be as much economical as possible wagonR is the option. But if you need to carry 4 adults comfortable even once in a while consider a sedan. Well for that price you could consider a Lancer or Sunny For less than 3mill you can get one around 2008. Most of them were permit brand new vehicles and were company maintained for atleast half of it's life, so millage is more reliable. Tida Mazda 3 can also be considered. Any way id recommend a 2008 lancer manual if you want economy and to enjoy the bends, or an auto if you'r left side is Lazy
  22. I also have the idea of converting. If it's a button type with no display but the changes in position are electronic i think it should be just a plug in job right
  23. Thank you very much for the inputs. I think I should go for the Baygon method. I don't know where they are coming from so where should I spray it to. Anybody with experience? Are they coming in or are they breeding inside the car. If I could get to know the place they are coming from is it advisable to remove the upholstery carpets roof or dashboard to remove the dead insects and their dropings and to repair any defects they may be entering from Any method to find out where they are coming?
  24. Thanks crosswind With BayGon will the insects die inside and leave a bad smell And I did a service and an interior cleaning which includes vacuum and I do it myself at home too. But still there. And will glue traps etc work for insects it's for rats and mice right
