    Tyre Prices

Guys, Tire Time after a long time. My Yokohama A Drive has now done 61000+ KMs and time to replace. But this time my financial situation is not good for a premium tyre. So looking for a budget tyre set to pay as instalments. Need 4 tires.. What do you think of these tyres? 1. Nankang Chinese 185/65R14 - 8300 LKR 2. Nankang Chinese 175/70R14 - 7600 LKR 3. Silverstone NS500 185/70R14 - 9800 LKR 4. GT Chinese 175/65R14 - 7500 LKR I would like to know your review of these Chinese Nangkang, GT tires and Silverstone Tires. Due to my budget constraint, I thinking of either Nankang 175/70R14 or GT Chinese.

    Tyre Prices

I have been away for a long time from this forum since life was busy with the family and baby. Anyway after completing 55000km from Yokohama A Drive, now it's time to replace them. This time, looking for a budget tyre can not afford for Yokohama. There is a Nankang Chinese manufactured tyre of size 184/65/14 is available for the price of 8350 each. Anyone using this?
  3. But the person who does headlight alignment has met with an accident and not coming to work these days, I also want to adjust mine so I called them up and got to know that it won't be done until end of February.
  4. Hi Guys, Recently I had to remove front bumper and headlights to give a paint job to the front inner frame. Then after that I feels my lower beam is slightly higher than usual. I saw many on coming traffic flashes there higher beam for me. So Can one know a place to get my car's headlights adjusted according to the approved standard? I checked with Car Care Wellawatta, they are doing it but unfortunately the person does has met with an accident and they are not sure the date he returns to work. It might be a easy DIY job, but considering the location i'm living, space is limited and ground is also uneven. And I don't have tools as well. So could anyone help me on this issue to find out a place does headlight alignment except Car Care? Thanks,
  5. Thanks Sierra. I checked with powerbulbs.com and they said package weight is lesser than 0.5kg and size is 6x4x4. So according to your experience what do you think? Do I have to pay taxes? I guess the powerbulbs.com is a well known vendor in UK. And I can pay via PayPal too. Ebay price of this item is £28.45 but with the 20% off I can get it from this vendor for £26.xx. And they give 12 months warrenty and they pay return cost if the item failed due to a mistake of them or manufacturing defects. Will see how it goes. Anyway if anyone of you have ordered bulbs from powerbulbs.com before please let me know you experience as well. Thanks.
  6. Thanks Schiffer. I just saw that there is an 20% off offer on powerbulbs.com and they have Philips X-treme Vision +130% bulbs for 33GBP. So with the discount I can get them for the same price on ebay. I thought of ordering from them. However, do I need to pay any extra tax for these pair of bulbs? Thanks,
  7. Hi, I own a Honda Civic Ek3 96 car. I'm thinking of replacing its stock headlight bulbs with Phillips X-treame Vision bulbs. It is a halogen bulb which designed in a way to produce 100% brighter light than normal stock halogen bulb. (It says so and awarded as the best bulb) However, I'm not sure which bulb type to chose from. Since I'm planning to get it down from ebay I need to clarify if the below H4 bulb is clearly fit to my car. As per my knowledge H4 bulb should fit to civic 96 and in the H4 it comes both low and high beam filaments. Please help me on this regard. This is the ebay link I'm referring to; Thanks in advanced.
  8. A few years back I noticed a water leak to the trunk in my ek3, removed all the inner panels and checked; there is a plastic knob which is connected with the bumper on both left and right sides. In my case water is leaking from that knob, then fixed it with silicon gel and problem solved. And again since 3 months I noticed water in the trunk, this time it is from the left trunk tail lights gasket. Used the silicon gel and problem solved.
  9. Sorry about hijacking your thread sira, I recently replaced the rear break shoes in my ek3 96. The removed set was a duplicated set and they caused to wear out the drum not the pads, so mechanic told me it id good to reface the drum before fixing the new shoes. So refaced and fixed with new Japan FBL set of shoes from tech. Now when I press the breaks, there is a tuk, tuk sound from left side, but the breaks are ok. Couldn't have a visit again to the garage after the repair yet. Any idea what would be the sound? can it be the uneven drum reface? Appreciate the help.
  10. Glad to know my post helps someone. Those info is over 3 years old and still I have the same car with the same set of speakers. Actually still they work brilliantly.
  11. It would be around 10k, some ac joints supply it with a warranty too. I had to replace 3 compressors with in 1 year. But every time I had only to pay the service cost only. The place is near Battaramulla Koswatta.
  12. Dude did you manage to replace your radiator ? how much was the radiator and where did you find it?

  13. I had to replace my Ek3's alternator 3 years back and did it with a recon one for 6000, still no issues with it. almost 50000kms done now after the replacement.
  14. I have been using a set of 185/65/14 Yokohama A Drive Indonesian made. Now it has run 42000+ km and still looking good. Definitely it will run another 15000-20000kms without any issues. I bought it from Unit#d Mot#rs 9000 each 2+ years back.
  15. Before going to anywhere, check the battery terminal as suggested in a earlier post. A few years back in my Ek3 had a same kind of issue due to the loose battery terminal. While car is on running, engine switched off and all indicators turned on, then it starts up normally and run. But in my case, it lighted up all the indicators like, check engine light, oil and break indicators.
