  1. Dear members, I have seen in the internet that UK car sales sites have japanise vehicles specially pajero ( 1995 model) which were imported from japan in year 2007 so the first registration date of that vehicle in uk is 2007. Do you think whether its posible to bring such a vehicle down to our country without breaking any law? This is just my personal openion. I would like to see your comments. Thanks.
  2. NO i'm 22 years old gentleman I don't like people being rude to me.
  3. I'm sorry for my ignorance. Thanks for the valuable info pal.
  4. please dont be mean im sorry if i did something to you.
  5. OMG I'm sorry why are u so mean. I was explaning my opinion.
  6. well that's one persons openion anyway thank you for your comments. Would you please point out what i said wrong. My knoledge about bikes is not perfect.
  7. If you want to use a bigger tyre and if you are cool with fuel fugures the speedo can be re calibrated.
  8. If a Software engineer looks in to this matter I think it's possible to change the language. Because these players dont come with an inbuilt os. When your battery cable is pulled off the player looses its os. You need to install loading.kwi file relavent to ya player and if you edit that file it's posible i guess. I have seen people are installing bigger hdds to mitsubishi outlander to save movies and songs after hacking the original loading.kwi file.
  9. this is not posible dude. But ther's a company in japan which really can translate most of the stuff in their nav cd and also they will add local maps too. They can edit the .kwi files. But I'm not sure whether any sri lankan has done it yet.
  10. Also be careful of the security systems , audio systems and sat nav etc etc out local chaps offer. And please dont buy thoes stuppid light covers they use 3m double side tape to attach them to your lights. They can never protect your lights in any kind of a collision. When you buy a new car and when you go to the so called car detailing joints in sl these people bring everyting in the store to show you and they are very kind even to keep it on ya vehicle and convience you to say yes to fix them quickly. I really hate them.
  11. Since my last car started corroding due to holes drilled everywhere in the trunk lid to protect the badges I thought of not doing that mistake again to the new car. Please think twice. The guy who drilled my trunk lid scratched the paint by slipping the drill while attempting to drill a hole on a very small letter. Also I didn’t bother to install door protector lines too. Because last time I installed them they have applied a lil glue to avoid them coming off every time I open the doors but due to excessive heat they came off during few months and the paint was really damaged. And the nice shiny nickel silencer tip they installed started decaying (the inside non nickel parts) and I threw it away too. I only installed wruth number plate holders (in order to avoid drilling holes in them with some stainless steel nuts), seat covers, and floor covers to survive during rainy season and a set of bucket carpets.
  12. I also had to go through the same problem in my case toyota lanka repaired it. (they heated the buffer and brought it back to normal condition and re painted) costed only 25k since my colour is pearl white they took that amount of money otherwise its even lower. In my case i had no dents even the buffer was not able to be fixed using the original clips. They advised me that although it looks simple from outside its little complicated outside. The buffers are made that way. I collided with a concrete pillar in the middle (in a parking lot at very slow speeds) nothing happen to the buffer at the middle though i thought that toyota people can fasten the locks back and im good to go but when they removed the buffer only i realized what’s wrong. The buffer is designed that way it absorbs the collision and break release from the sides. In my case I got lucky not to replace the buffer though Please don't go for other places because one of my friend's buffer was painted and the two colours didnt match even ( since the buffer is plastic its hard to get the same colour as the rest of the car)
  13. Please think about your rear buffer before drilling holes. It is very expensive to replace it. If it's made of metal (Toyota Hilux) it starts corroding. I have a bad experience with a hilux vigo which the previous owner has drilled holes in the rear buffer to fix a reverse sensor system and the buffer started showing signs of corrosion. I don't find them much effective like cams as srilankan pedestrians always walk behind a reversing car. The sensors take some time to inform it to you.
  14. XR 250 is a good bike for ya. It has a good height for long trips. I'm 6ft 4 inches tall and still I find xr is a comfy bike. Hornet and cibbies are fun to ride but not for tall people and specially cibbies are better for track day than regular road use. CBR gets so hot when you are riding it in stop and go traffic. According to one of my friends cibbies are made to ride over 60kmph so that your legs wont feel so hot. I think a duel sport bike is better for your aspects. Since duel sports bikes have only one carb they are almost trouble free. You can learn to tune it at home even. But hornets, jades and cibbies better not to mess with their carbs. (They have four carbs) Anyway cibby is a powerful bike
  15. According to what I've heard from friends bandit is a good bike but unlike other bikes in SL it needs a tank full of fuel (at least more than half) in order to generate an adequate pressure to pump fuel to the carburetors. Most of the Sri Lankan users don't pump a full tank of fuel as we know. What they do is pumping fuel whenever they are using the bike. So when you try to start the bike using the electric starter (The bike has only an electric starter) the excessive load on the electrical system on can cause long term electrical problems and also low pressure fuel can damage the carbs. If you buy an unregistered bandit and use it with care it really is a good bike like a Honda hornet. Also SL bike users are popular for messing with the carbs for so called better fuel economy. So please don’t even think about buying a bandit from an SL owner unless he seems to be an enthusiast.
  16. Though this won't come to sl soon and it is expensive it actually is cheep according to my calculations. If you buy a 85 KWh model a full tank of electricity will cost you only about 1780 Lkr here in Sri Lanka. 17. Yeah That's a better idea than mine. Also everyone should have more discipline when it comes to driving. It doesn't matter he or she is driving a bimmer, or a thrishow discipline is discipline. Hats off Sir!
  18. I don't know about a maruti but a new prado is going for 3581000 JPY in Japan Auctions. Vehicles are really expensive in Japan also nowadays. If government allows us to bring down vehicles up to 10 years old and if they had a reasonable method to check it for the running condition maybe this would be a great chance for working class people who buy motor cycles. A nissan sunny fb 15 is going for 0.07Mil JPy there. It still is a hell of a good car though. Motorcycles are not made for everyone to ride. I really don't like to see many people riding here in our country without even wearing appropriate safety gear. Riding is an art not everyone can ride although many people ride here! so sad :( I really hate the riders riding in my blind spot and trying to over take me from the wrong side I hate the way most people drive in our roads Why can't we maintain road discipline?
  19. I have permit to import a vehicle not older than 10 years of the first registration. So I can bring down this car.
  20. He said it's going to cost about 1100000 JPY
  21. Hey guys finally I found my car I'm going to bring it down via one of my friends who is in the field for many years. Here are the pictures and the auction sheet. According to my friend its a pearl white car with beige interior and options are factory fitted reverse cam and navigation system. If anybody can understand Japanese please tell me what more this auction sheet explains like any damages or bad scratches.
  22. I've seen a lot of 65- Nissan bluebirds are in the tourism trade. It's around 1.6M I guess.
  23. 1) It's illegal in Sri Lanka. As long as you cover them with light covers you are good to go (please correct me if I'm wrong) 2) Available at many good 4x4 stores (recommend Hella USA) 3) It's vital for a 4x4 if u do offroading. 4) This is not my field sorry
