  1. MD, what about these for FAIL Cars: - The raped baby blue Sera by M@cvud (and the like) http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/2502-autolanka-funniest-moments/page__st__1660#entry219078 - The RX8 with Audi R8 tail lights http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/2502-autolanka-funniest-moments/page__st__1680#entry219104 And for motoring related FAIL of the year: - Mervin's bike ride (without helmet, on first gear)
  2. Thanks mate. Definitely a candidate for the fail car of the year award.
  3. Sorry for my ignorance, but what exactly was the red vios? Looks like I've missed it somehow. I'm trying to figure out what's worse than the TurboSupercharged BOV Prius.
  4. Great job mate, as someone had already stated above, I can't think of anyone else who would have treated her better. This is one hell of a transformation. +1 on the stick shift. You can now take her for a ride instead of letting her take you for a ride.
  5. Glad I could be of assistance. Well, Brasso in this particular scenario would be OK I guess because the letters are embossed and the chances of it removing the black paint is very little (unless you're in too much of a hurry). But if you insist on trying out rubbing compound, I recommend the 3M Light Rubbing Compound which can be found in almost any L@ughf$ service station. Just checked the price tag on the 3M Rubbing Compound bottle I have with me and the faded label reads Rs. 1650 (bought it a couple of months back).
  6. As a matter of fact it does, and sorry I have missed that point in my instructions. After the sanding is complete and the white letters have become fully visible (and matt now), Apply some rubbing compound (or brasso) and polish it well until it's all shiny again. Hope this helps.
  7. Good one! It's only a matter of time until we get to see these in our new 3 letter number plates as well.
  8. I think you're referring to the Proton Wira machang. The Waja looks nothing like the Lancer. It just has a Mitsubishi 4G18 (1.6L SOHC EFI) engine - the same engine used in the 2001 - 2008 Lancer CS3. It's a reliable engine with little maintenance required.
  9. Neat! Thanks for sharing. Found the conversion template PDF online and sharing it here: http://www.thechinacellphone.com/micro_sim_template.pdf
  10. Thumbs up on the effort! To get a much cleaner line of black paint around the lettering, you can try out the method below next time around: 1. Sand the entire trim down using 1200 grit water sandpaper to make sure that there are no flakes of paint and scratches on the plastic. 2. Without using any masking tape, spray white over the letters, don't worry about the white paint being sprayed on the areas which should be black, just make sure you cover all the letters (2 coats). 3. Paint the entire thing with black, yes paint over the lettering as well (over the white paint). 2 coats will do, but go easy around the letters on the second coat. 4. After everything is dried out, sand over the lettering to remove the black paint and reveal the white underneath. Be careful as to not scratch the black paint surrounding the letters. Apply as little pressure as possible when you start seeing white paint appear. We don't want to sand the white paint also. Using a sanding block will be helpful. This method worked well for me.
  11. Wish you a very happy birthday Supra!
  12. I think it's high time this thread came back to life.
  13. My guess is that your clutch needs re-adjustment as The Don also has stated. Since the release point is towards the top (peddle position), even if you let go of the pedal totally, the clutch should still be in a position where it's not sitting on the flywheel perfectly (allowing it to slip). This explains the problems you're experiencing at inclines. I suggest you get this looked at as soon as possible to avoid further damage to the clutch and the related components.
  14. Can you please be more specific about what you're experiencing during the release of the clutch pedal? Does the car stall?
  15. I guess he was thinking along the same lines as the local guy who ruined a nice RX8 by trying to put Audi R8 tail lights.
  16. Merry Christmas everybody! @ 0:12 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vz5_TLoV68s&feature=player_embedded
  17. If anyone happen to go past the Malabe junction last night, you would have witnessed a similar set of traffic lights. The amber was continuously on while the red and green seem to be operating fine.

  19. lol.... yes it does, and I believe it said "Pirisidu Chethanaa Genadei Waasanaa" originally.
  20. Haven't used winter wipers but from what I know (and read), they're different. Winter wipers are more bulky and made out of material capable of standing up to very low temperatures. Also, they look frameless because actually the frame is covered using a rubber boot to prevent ice build up withn the frame.
