  1. You could Also Use Partsouq , i have personally used them on several occasions
  2. Subaru Parts are pretty expensive everywhere, i live in New Zealand and over here the cambelt kits retail for 60,000 i get mine at dealer price for 45,000 hence the pricing in Sri Lanka, the belt alone is very cheap, its the waterpump and tensioners that are costly. I'm not Sure what D2 Adjusties you have in Sri Lanka however i have a v7 Sti with D2 Adjusties over here, they are good for track use but is an utter loss on roads, the damper settings are very minimal, the suspension itself is too hard and too much rebound. I did manage to swap springs with a tanabe set i had which did make an improvement but still not up to my standards, but is definitely a bang for your buck.
  3. The mileage is on the 70k mark, Simply said it was human error on this engine, the driver left the radiator pressure cap half open and the vehicle ended up overheating but he kept on driving probably distracted by the women on the streets until the engine ended up smoking. The engine was completely overhauled and 500 km's later the engine starts to knock ,stripped the motor apart and Voila! 4th piston ceased due to oil starvation. so i'm on the hunt for one piston and ring. MMC japan has said they have to specifically manufacture the product which takes time.
  4. thanks heaps man, do you think these would work on it ? http://www.ebay.com/itm/MITSUBISHI-L200-2-5TD-DI-D-16V-PISTON-0-50-WITH-PISTON-RINGS-4D56U-2006ON-PAJERO-/181595053740?hash=item2a47e89eac:g:OzMAAOSwiCRUdKjg&vxp=mtr#shpCntId
  5. Hey guys haven't posted on this forum for quite sometime now, I am needing some help on pinpointing what engine is in the locally imported Mitsubishi montero sport 2011 (Doctor permit), i am currently abroad and have no access to the vehicle and neither of my mates are mechanically minded.Long story short needs new pistons and apparently the dealer are out of stock or cannot get part. does it have the 2.5 L single ohc diesel turbo/2.5L VGT/2.5L VGT common rail diesel engines? knowing the right engine takes me one step closer to finding the parts, or would anyone of you happen to know a place i could locally source both 0.50 oversize piston and rings? any help is much appreciated, Thanks .
  6. If you did purchase this bike second hand, you would not know what most "maka basses" have done to your carb, most of them replace the jets off a CD125 carb as i recall.
  7. Lets break this down , If your vehicle runs fine with engine loads but knocks only when shifting gears,i cannot figure out why an under compression engine could cause such irony. If one cylinder is under compression it affects the stoichiometric Air/Fuel ratio but it certainly would not cause an engine knock only when shifting as far as my knowledge persists. 1.Have you eliminated the fact that it could be transmission related ? 2. A knock is usually a jerk but how could it cause a "rattle" noise ?,if its rattling it could be your torque converter 3.If your car is equipped with an Electronic throttle body, a faulty throttle body makes the vehicle run nuts when shifting,in some applications a backfire or popping happens when the TB is faulty because it alters the Air/fuel curve in the ECU. Technicians don't honestly diagnose a fault properly they just tell you to replace this and that until everything is figured out, a video with the rattling noise would be nice for anything further, as Rumesh88 has pretty much provided you with the best diagnosis procedures possible.
  8. If your going for a 6 port Renises motor , you will never have good fuel economy as they thrive for fuel every second . Here in New Zealand, the RX8's usually get rebuilt after 70K-120,000 k's depends on how you drive them and the amount of care and products you give to the car. Two most common problems as to best of my knowledge - starter motor giving up and Engine losing compression when hot . I don't think there are good rotary re builders in Sri Lanka .
  9. Reading through your posts i see that you have replaced oil and checked for any water contamination before hand . However air bubbles could be for several reasons in the system, but that's one of the most common culprits to show up during a head gasket failure. The engine miss could be due to Compression leaking through your head gasket causing the air fuel mixture to be partially burnt like "fonfe" mentioned. Taking it to a mechanic is the best bet or try to figure out which cylinders are misfiring, which is very very hard given the circumstances . did you check for bubbles after the engine had reached its operating temperature and thermostat opened ?
  10. To be honest most suv's like toyota prado , montero are well capable of doing over 250,000 , infact most of the cars in sri lanka never go beyond 200,000 k's because they have odo meter alterations done. I live in new zealand and most average vehicles which you enlisted have being driven well exceeding 300,000 km's some have even reached 500,000 km's,its a matter of having a solid rebuild and you're good to go
  11. I've personally had and ridden all the above mentioned bikes, TBH nothing beats the Dr-Z 400, The Ax1 is a good bike but you should take into consideration that the bike is very old, You should find a genuine bike, basically untouched by our local so called mechanics Kawasaki D-tracker is a really good bike,a 2004 upwards model is perfect for day to day use,if you maintain it properly,it would never let you down.
  12. Hey guys i'm currently in New zealand and i'm planning to get a car. I do get pretty confused and anxious when i'm planning to buy something. Would love your opinion on the cars listed below. these are the cars within my budget Toyota altezza 2.0 litre (6spd manual) Toyota Celcia 1.8 vvti (6spd manual) Subaru Legacy B4 RSK (t/t) Manual - 2.0 litre not 2.5 (1999-2001) Subaru Impreza WRX 1993-1996 . i did find an Sti RA 1995 but is a bit pricy and looks to be an accident repair. Thank You. Wcc.
