  3. Please learn how to spell before making a comment again.(WTF is a bic#ing?) any further comments by you would be ignored by me. have a good day.
  4. Girly comment mate. reminds me of my teenage cousin sisters. i have loads of things to do here at office than peddle stuff on the street. so i come on by and post something to lighten up the day for someone reading my post and you want to be a bi*ch now. get a life.
  5. Hey nexus what an idea!. i'll give you the copyrights. go ahead and sell it on the roadside.
  6. Well Harshan. i did not follow a weekend course on "how to bribe a cop" i have made my fair share of mistakes before learning the art. but now i can nail them pretty easily. and oh you're welcome..
  7. Bribing a cop for Dummies! A reference for the rest of us... When flagged down by a cop. 1. Do not panic, Cops are not man eating monsters 2. Slow down and do not attempt to flee the scene. park on the road side 3. If you have passengers in your car please step out off the vehicle and proceed to step 4. if not you may remain in the vehicle for the cop to come to you. (This is an important step as cops do not want many witnesses for the crime that they are going to commit, but your individual experience may vary from cop to cop) 4. DO NOT Argue about the offense(you know you are guilty), simply hand over the license and insurance. 5. if the cop takes too long in inspecting the license and insurance and tries to talk about where you are from and what you do for living. that's an indicator for you to say these golden words "Ralahami udawwak karanna barida?" 6. If you get a positive signal for step 5. then DO NOT publicly open up your wallet and produce a note to the cop. ask him to give the license and insurance and pretend to put it back in your wallet then take a 500 RS note and place it in his hand as if you are giving him some candy.. then you walk out of the crime scene. all clean. and one last tip keep 500 Rs change at all times. i had to pay 1000 Rs once since i had no change. they cant look at the "candy" till you leave the scene. copped around 6-7 times mostly for effing crossing the dual line when over taking. and one more thing i do not encourage anyone to bribe civil servants. please drive safe and obey the road rules and you will save your money and your time. Cheers!
  8. Hi Guys! I did a complete fuel system clean up and checked the car with a OBD2 scanner and found that the O2 sensor is not functioning. and had it replaced. the power output i get now is unbelievable. if i knew this before i would have done this 8 months ago when i bought the car. this thing is 650CC (Daihatsu Mira) and its my first. can anyone suggest more minor mods to squeeze some more power out of this measly engine? Thanks!
  9. Hi all, just out of curiosity does any joint in SL fabricate the headlamp i mean to our specifications? if so has anyone done it and whats the price like?
  10. OOps! someone has already mentioned that! my bad...
  11. Guys! i think he bought the Daihatsu Boon and referring to it as Passo since its the more famous brand. Daihatsu is a toyota company and the same hatchlet is branded as Daihatsu Boon/ Toyota Passo Which one does he own by the way? Boon or Passo? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daihatsu_Boon
  12. i googled about this and i found out in this site http://www.daihatsu-mira.com/specs/1999.5/10467/ that the original size is 155/65R13 73S (Whats 73S? ) does anyone think going back to 13 and the same original manufacturers specs is better?
  13. Thanks for the reply, The previous owner has installed 2 different sizes, car is in the garage at the moment going through a wheel / brake related health check. i dont really remember the size of the tire. my guess is that the current tire size is the same as the stock alto tires. since the alloys are the same from the alto (i think the guy who sold it to me got a cheap set from somewhere) but one of the rear tires is wider than the rest. around 1.5 CM i would say. What was the original manufacturer stock tires? i really dont know. but i think it would be a 13" than a 12" since i saw a few of the same car with 13" rims.
  14. Hi jerryda its a Mira (Dihatsu) same as the Perodua Kelisa this is the Jap version
  15. Hi All Whats the most comfortable tire size for a 12" RIM? not concerned about fuel consumption but comfort. and whats the best brand?
  16. I hear a thud from the engine or transmission (not sure) and a hesitation as well when leaving the Gas Pedal. is this normal?
  17. Thanks Hakjay / Sumiya - i'll take it to a garage and probably see if i can re seal the engine. better be preventive in maintenance. if a serious leak starts then i think i might do irreversible damage. coz i drive it a bit hard without thinkin on long stretches.
  18. thanks for the reply Elvis the engine has done 154,000 Km's and its not really a drop. it has been dripping since i kept it parked for a while. and i saw a patch of oil under the engine. i reversed and took some on my fingers and smelled it as well. it is engine oil. and i noticed that the area round the top of the engine has become oily as well. how do i fix it? or should i fix it at all?
  19. after running around 160km non-stop (almost) i parked the car for about 6 hours and later came to see to find out that there is a oil drip under the engine. does it indicate a problem? and for normal day to day driving i don't see this kind of issue
  20. after driving my Mira pretty fast last night (probably would have hit the highest speed yet).. today in the morning i feel the car to be smoother and the unpleasant engine vibrations at low RPM have died down a bit.. its a welcome change. but what really happened? is it good or bad?
  21. No experts around today?
  22. Planning on doing an ATF flush by myself. the motor has done 150K+ on the odo. so wondering what type of oil would be best suited. and is there any type of additive that i can use for to clean up the built up gunk? has anyone tried this before.. my approach would be as described below. you are welcome to criticize. 1. Remove the drain plug of the transmission and drain the ATF completely. 2. Put the drain plug back on and fill the ATF back to the normal level with fresh oil via ATF dip stick opening. 3. Remove the hose which takes ATF oil to the radiator for cooling and plug it to a lengthier hose which ends up in a bucket to collect the fluid outside the engine bay. 4. start the motor and watch the ATF squirt out of the hose into the bucket till the ATF changes to a crispy red (in the meantime keep pouring ATF into the transmission) 5. finally when the gunk is cleared. stop the engine and top up the ATF to normal levels. what i need to know is the following. A. is the above process recommended (if at all correct) B. what is the best oil that i can use (when i mean best i mean BEST) C. and is there any additive in the market that i can use along with the ATF? Thanks in advance!
  23. Does anyone know where to buy Nitro Fuel (15%)? i got a Buggy which runs on Nitro but don't have fuel to get it going... (i guess this post qualifies to be here since the Buggy can reach 100+ Kmph and its not really a toy) Thanks for the help in advanced!
