  1. Janith Seneviratne - I really doubt if you got any chance to drive a vezel? it doesn't struggle at any speed, coz i've tested it in different speed limit at different conditions. anyway, i don't speed as a habit as it is unnecessary. may be the guy you overtook didn't wanted to be a part of your imaginary drag race. Good one killercruise
  2. Yup, that sound sensible.. but we cant neglect that older cars might have high probability to to cause issues. we cant exactly assume how good original owners maintained the car
  3. i wonder why are you keep on promoting 5,6 years old RAVs and CRV's when they are not worthy considering ROI , the maintenance cost, old, cost for repairs, etc: , but 260 Aliion may sounds as good option.
  4. Well, these are baseless. I own vezel, and i dont want it to market. people who like it will buy, others will kept out. it's not struggling @ 80KMpH at any time? I've driven it in hill country's , overtook any vehicle without any sort of issue. you dont need to depend on sport mode if you know how to drive. may be people who cant drive or who is conscious about fuel economy struggling in the road. it's not a surprise that any car can accelerate. i've driven 990cc charade , 800cc Maruti also in high speeds, it's your driving style. but drive with passion is different. all those are hatred stories.
  5. I own a vezel. Well, i heard most of the people argument over vezel and have to say most of them are assumptions. Vezel is not a SUV. it is a crossover. But it "was" the very feasible solution for brand, price, comfort, MD, fuel consumption, design and quality. Well it will be not the best option with new tax reversion. But if you are deviating from Vezel to some other car first carefully analyze "what exactly your requirement". Then see the options. Just dont reply on what people say, search the internet (reputed sources) , drive your self some vehicles. take your own decision. . just any new car make your drive smooth. In that case my old swift beetle was very smooth in highway even 130-140 speed levels. look for all options before jump.
  6. exactly! I have a Toyota friend always boasting about vitz fuel consumption(over 20 as per his standards) but never bring his car for any sort of event or day to day work ..... however once i got a chance to travel in city limit and i would like to take it as a harassment. loud noises, engine sound, bumping ride, hell like interior omg! only cars make sense to me from above list is Allion and 121. But given the fact that they all are likely to be out of date in next few years, there are way better options unfortunately you cant go with "toyota" mentality.
  7. Auto lanka needs to introduce more filtering facilities. i dont see worth spending money on autolanka add when there are many free sites. Therefore it is better if owners of autolanka could come up with value addition improvements to site,
  8. Good calculation Don. I just realized Hiran is looking for Aqua / GP5 to replace the Swift. Been 7 years as a Swift fan, including the experience of my last 2009 swift , i would say you might analyze some other option than Aqua. Sometimes it is not just the cost does matter. Aqua interior sucks. the design is poor. sound, acceleration is very much poor to my standard. it's not worth if you find the new vehicle does not impress you in driving. i got more driving pleasure with swift than Aqua. but in other hand i believe most people like Toyota though they are very standard basic vehicles. you may have to choose from two options. I guess you choose swift over Vitz few years ago for the same reason. These are two different options. Go with any non Toyota vehicle tend to loss more in second hand market, but if you value quality, driving pleasure, design, stability like qualities, go for Honda.

    Fuel Efficiency

    Vehicle : Swift Beetle (Japanese 2009) Engine Capacity : 1.3 Fuel : 92 octane Km per Ltr (city/long distance) : 9-11 / 15-18 (this is depends on driving pattern!) Southern Highway (avg 85 19-20 , avg 110 - 16)

    Fuel Efficiency

    Vehicle : Honda Vezel (hybrid) Engine Capacity : 1.5 Fuel : 95 octane Km per Ltr (city/long distance) : 15 / 16-18 Highway (avg 85 on cruise - 23 , avg 110 on cruise - 18)
  11. I owned a swift (Japanese - 2009) . I dont know how people interpret swift. but fuel economy was very good with it. I was able to keep avg fuel consumption meter around 18KMpL in both high way and trip from colombo to kanthale given the fact that very less traffic condition. It always how you drive. even in mid traffic conditions still you will find it is working around 11. In other hand, my vezel is working like 16-17 in mid traffic conditions. I didnt tested it in highway, but i dont expect much more than 18-20 range. So it is not significant fuel saving when it comes to hybrid. But depends on the driving pattern some found swift is less fuel economical. in that case, it is hard to believe magic numbers from hybrid as well. You don't need to worry about battery if you buy it from reputed dealer. They will give 3 years warranty. and companies guarantee the battery life span up to 10 years. so you will be comfortable to use it around 5 years. Aqua will be the best when considering fuel saving as per crowd mentioned in the forums. but it is the very less appeal car in the hybrid market. GP5 is a good option. but loss in the second hand market will be larger than Aqua. I am not an expert. just my thoughts and experience.
  12. Hi Super Natural. I've get solved my issue thanks to autolanka friends. This topic can be closed. Thanks every one helped / participated.
  13. nope.. it's not a sensible thought to use hybrid for 8 years. have to change within 3-5 years. Anyway, if we dont mind the age, there are some old golds as alternatives. still it is depends on the personal preference.
  14. That's true. merc are different class. But we cant afford brand new BMW. Honestly i cant see any alternative solution around 5 Mil. compared to vezel. (not just because i own it) ,
  15. just curious what are the vehicle options we have around 5 million?
