  1. My car had the same problem sometime ago. It was the radiator drain plug. Just tightened it a bit & end of the problem. Just for info.
  2. we also have a 2003 model. Again around 10km/l in colombo. so I guess that's the normal economy.
  3. If you really want to buy why do you ask for objections? It's your money after-all. I'm not saying navigation has no use specially if you are a traveler.
  4. I've been with Aviva for 3 years. Claimed twice. No monkey business so far.
  5. march k11 is not at all fuel efficient. I used to get 8-9km/l outstations with 4 passengers, driven normally.
  6. When I got my emission test done today, although I passed the emission test there was a high CO value (4.5%) on idling compared to 0.057% @ 2500 RPM, . After that I found the air filter really dirty and replaced it. Could there be any other reason for this? Car - 2003 Jap Alto. Thanks
  7. some k 11's came with motor driven EPS. May be a loose connection
  8. Why dont you use Toyota ATF? D II costs around 3k for 4l.
  9. Too many advises will not get you anywhere! Make your own choice. When the choice is yours, when something happens you don't have to blame anyone.
  10. Can someone tell me the recommended ATF type of Suzuki Alto (HA23) 2003 model. I tried searching, but failed. Thanks.
  11. Second (2 or S) This mode limits the transmission to the first two gear ratios, or locks the transmission in second gear on Ford, Kia, and Honda models. This can be used to drive in adverse conditions such as snow and ice, as well as climbing or going down hills in the winter time. Some vehicles will automatically shift up out of second gear in this mode if a certain RPM range is reached in order to prevent engine damage. Although traditionally considered second gear, there are other names used. Chrysler models with a three-speed automatic since the late 1980s have called this gear 3 while using the traditional names for Drive and Low. S or Sport This is commonly described as 'Sport mode'. It operates in an identical manner as 'D' mode, except that the upshifts change much higher up the engine's rev range. This has the effect on maximising all the available engine output, and therefore enhances the performance of the vehicle, particularly during acceleration. This mode will also downchange much higher up the rev range compared to 'D' mode, maximising the effects of engine braking. This mode will have a detrimental effect on fuel economy. Hyundai has a Norm/Power switch next to the gearshift for this purpose on the Tiburon. source - wikipedia I think your D-S probably refer to the 2nd one.
  12. China is well known for manufacturing cheap products in large quantities. This applies for not only automobiles, but everything. Take a Chinese phone for example. There are enough people who bought them. It will be advertised as having all features of a well known brand. But take a closer look ! How many Chinese phone users are satisfied with them? only a handful. True that, once Japanese vehicles were looked down upon. But from the beginning they concentrated on quality for reasonable price, a philosophy even the American big 3 lost against. Big 3 could not make Americans buy american. Chinese have the cheap part but lacks the quality part.
  13. cars priced under 2 M have hardly depreciated, especially highly sought after ones.
  14. I'm not aware why somebody jumped into the conclusion that I was referring to city driving. And the last thing I want to do is show off! I don't see the gain of showing off. And I don't expect any better fuel economy! These figures are for outstations. In heavy traffic it might be around 8 km/l or even less. ( It's an A/T. ) Carina's fuel tank capacity is 60l. Even when the fuel indicator is below the bottom marker, and the fuel indicator lights up you can only pump around 50l.
  15. I'm using a 97 Ti My Road which has done about 85K. It's just the best car I had. Low maintenance cost. Very reliable. However, fuel consumption is around 11-12 km/l. But it's the heaviest of the three.
  16. It's probably maths. When you consider the possible variation of amount of petrol pumped at a given time, any error will be more obvious when calculated for, say 3/4 tank than 1/2 or 1/4. This happens to me too!
  17. From what I found out the Kelisa & Kenari owners are quite disappointed. They said the car is not long lasting and becomes noisy after around 40K. May be it's better to go for a used Vitz.
  18. Hello Guys, Your ideas about Perodua Viva Elite please Thanks.
  19. I have travelled in one. it is REALLY uncomfortable. Driver said it's very difficult to drive & handling is also poor. I'm not aware of the after sale services, anyway I don't think the van lasts very long. Telecom might have bought it due to tender procedures.
