Thanks. But strangely as the sound appeared, it is gone now. I only once for a second had a chance to peek under the DB and I am sure this is the culprit. So it is the temp. controller. ( Fresh/Recirc flap is above the cabby on the passenger side)
-
As I told before the noise is there only in the early morning. When I checked it seemed to be coming from the motor that drives the temp. control. (marked 1) but before I could confirm it disappeared. I was not able to locate the fresh/recirc flap as you mentioned. The other motor is the mode selector (marked 2). VIkarll, which one did you replace, and if you don't mind where? Im sure I have the same issue you had anyway the noise is there when ignition is on even with A/C off. Thanks

Thanks a lot. Will check and let the community

Could you find the problem? Today I got the same kind of noise coming from somewhere behind the instrument cluster. Funny it disappeared after sometime.

Services should be Provided by Fuel Stations
aamarakoon replied to gayanath's topic in General Automotive
There is a particular fuel station that I use. The air pump there has been out of order for a long time. When I quarried they said the Ceypetco guys have to come and do the repairs. Don't know whether its true or a silly excuse.- 27 replies

Self washing the car not only saves money, gives one a bit of exercise and also the best time to scrutinize the problems that the car will have early.

There's no alignment issue as I have done one recently. If alignment was the issue, the new GT radials should have been affected. If you look closely you can see little rubber parts have come out. And it happened to all 4 Michs.
-
Is this what you mean? All 4 of my car had this problem. Had to get rid 2 prematurely as they were in a very bad condition. Other 2 are also having the same issue.

110 RPM changing according to the engine heat
aamarakoon replied to pasindups's question in Mechanical problems
May be the engine mounts are bad. Anyway check the RPM correctly as this could be subjective since you don't have an tachometer. -
Me too! New one looks a little retro (personal opinion)

toyota 121 G grade or toyota allion 240??
aamarakoon replied to janitha sampath bandara's topic in General Automotive
In the same price bracket why not the car a class above? One point though some Allions are also hacked. I was looking for a 260 last year and saw about 10 cars, but came across a 240 in much better condition than the 260s and grabbed the chance and saved some money. Still happy I made that decision. -
Buying advice: First Car, First Job
aamarakoon replied to YoungGrasshopper's topic in General Automotive
Hello welcome to the forum, I think you have do a lot of math here. You better calculate all expenses against the income you get. As everybody mentioned maintaining a car these days is not what it used to be. Cars will have unforeseen issues from time to time, and when you replace one part you may find other parts around will also need to be replaced, specially if you buy an old car. If you really think you can manage one please try to find a relatively new well maintained one. Don't rush on impulses. Good luck! -
Water vapor is usually seen in cool weather just after starting the car and disappears as the engine warms up. If your engine oil level is dropping it could be due to oil burning.

What is the best one to buy?
aamarakoon replied to janitha sampath bandara's topic in General Automotive
Yeah they are mostly hacked. You have to take your time and find a well maintained specimen. -

No. Clearing cache or reinstalling chrome didn't work. -
For a couple of weeks autolanka forum pages don't load properly on my laptop. It takes a lot of time and the Web page (both chrome and IE) is not complete. Anybody else has this problem? Says something wrong with the server. However all is well on Android.
