  1. Looks-wise Fit Aria doesn't compare to others. Some wont agree with me but I really can't stand the looks of that car. Anyways, as I hear the performance is not too hot as well, although the car has more options/gadgets as standard compared to some others in your list. Personally, I will go for a Sylphy on your list for comfort and relatively low price or a Honda Civic, as some others included, for the responsiveness and ride. Swift is a solid choice, if you want a newer car and ok with a hatch.
  2. I've seen that Sylphy has both 1.8 and 1.5 versions - how the handling and pickup on those? I've not driven a Sylphy but hv driven N16's and expect the handling and the pickup to be similar? Maintenance-wise, I believe the Swift's and Vioses easier to maintain (cost, parts, mechanics).
  3. If you compare the Sedans : Civic, Fit Aria, Sylphy and Vios (2002 to 2005 models), would you say the Civic comes out on top?
  4. Will the SLS AMG be showcased in D*M* showroom - Or will it go straight to a buyer? Any agent insiders know?

    Nissan March K11

But would waiting actually solve or aggravate the problem in the short term? I mean unless you're prepared to wait 6+ months, I can't see any 2nd hand owners dropping their prices ~ especially when they cannot get a newer car for any less money with the new tax brackets!
  6. Overall the season is more exiting than last, primarily because of Pirelli's. DRS is helping or meddling, depending on your point of view. I love the overtaking opportunity served by DRS but essentially the car in front is at a huge disadvantage. It was exiting to see the Ferrari's at race pace, Massa too was easily in points before that pit stop. But F1 needs the like of Mercedes and Lotus Renault to be up there as well - otherwise it's merely a one bull race followed by the 2nd and 3rd contenders. Really hope someone upsets the apple cart at the top, otherwise it'll eventually turn to a dour season, irrespective of all the overtaking and racing in the middle!
  7. Do you think that these vehicles now will be sold at a higher price due to Tax changes. I know for a fact that several Vios cars earlier peddled at 2.3 M among my friends are now going at 2.5M + But the question is will people buy at that level?
  8. Yeah it's OT but a valid concern for nearly all of us Private Sector workers. We at office went through the draft bill and estimated that there is about 50% chance that you will be able to claim your money fully back. Government is basically trying to pilfer our wages to create the desperately needed cashflow. I for one will fully support (financially and otherwise) any court action to make this scheme fully voluntarily. Sorry for the OT rant! ... oh and good bye Axela - registered or unregistered, now will quickly be out of my reach!
  9. Really bad news for those who hv ordered vehicles or landed, not cleared. I heard the increase is from 8% (for Hybrids) to 18% or so (for 2000cc+ Petrols). Not verified. Unreg and 2nd hand markets will turn upside down!
  10. I think it's fair to say China was more exiting than the previous two and most of the last season, in terms of overtaking, strategy and change of positions throughout the grid. And it's refreshing to see someone other than that German kid on the top spot!
  11. Wow! What should we say? Proud to be Sri Lankan??
  12. There are 121's for 2.5 M, you just hv to search a little (not just on web) and of course, negotiate! I would rather go for a Civic of the same model year rather than a 121 though - bound to be cheaper, better and more fun to drive!
  13. Yeah, it probably is not just a 'hybrid' phenomenon. There are a lot of new cars on the road and a good % of new car owners tend to be extra careful when 'breaking their car-in' so to speak. I hv come across countless Axio's and even Allions going about 30 mph - taking turns for ages - keeping a 10 meter distance between the car in front - etc. I think it's natural for (at least some) people to go slow in a new car - you really don't want to damage the new goods eh? I occasionally enjoy giving them a good scare
  14. Well, this means that if I pump my March with N2 and also wash it (ugh!) and put some racing stripes/decals .. I would be able to take on the other Nissan's (i.e. the GTR's in SL) with ease! Should I take the muffler off my silencer as well?
  15. For those of us who do not hv housing loans (thus not used the refund) - benefit would be obvious. However some bosses are trying to take advantage of this by trying to incorporate this saving to annual increments!! The cretins!!!
  16. Super birthday gift man .. add me to the jealous club! Waiting to see some images of the beaut!
  17. From Daily Mirror today Drying paddy on the Southern Highway! THURSDAY, 31 MARCH 2011 00:00 By Krishan Jeewaka Jayaruk The people in Sulthanagoda area in Matara are using the Matara-Colombo Southern Expressway, theconstruction of which is proceeding at a very slow pace, to dry their paddy. The farmers spread paddy on the carpeted road heated by the scorching sun. By adopting this method to dry paddy, the farmers said there is no need for mats or empty fertilizer bags to spread paddy to dry.
  18. Lovely! Two GTR's .. one tuned and 600 horses. Any more?
  19. This is nice - on on hand some are trying to paint a saintly picture over some kids who violated most of the rule book and bought death upon themselves. OTOH, some are accused of degrading their death! C'mon guys - no one .. no bug or man .. bought death on these guys - except the driver of that car (possibly with the approval of the rest!). It's ok to breath a sigh of relief that they did not kill anyone else in the process! I hope some of you hv seen the board posted on the Mortuary of the National Hospital : "Mortui Vivos Docent: Let the Dead Teach the Living" We only hv to take the lesson off this incident and let the dead lie as they are ...
  20. Hv to agree with this - no point in making some irresponsible and stupid kids martyrs. No point in dishonoring them after death as well - just being glad they did not kill anyone else!!
  21. You sure of that? I thought we hv a bad history against Pakistan .. & not India!
  22. Oh .. I thought they did really well - along with Petrov. Anyways I'm disappointed with the race as a whole, although DRS and other new stuff were interesting. Looks like RBR will again lead the way with McLaren and Ferrari's following with Lotus-Renault and Sauber being the other front runners. I can't imagine the situation changing drastically.
  23. What say that Webber will take pole today and Alonso will win tomorrow?
  24. http://store.ovi.com/content/44744# You can go to ovi store and directly download off your mobile (1.8 mb or something like that)..
  25. Symbian/Java version was always available - I've been using this last year as well. Good when you're stuck on meetings/dinners/lunches and want to get real time update on track timing.
