  1. Does anyone know the exact details of the gazette notification? I contacted the DMT in the morning requesting that info but the gentlemen who spoke said he cannot remember the exact details as this was introduced sometime back.
  2. Section 38 of MTA 38 .The revenue licence issued for any motor vehicle shall (a) be displaced oil the front of the motor vehicle and placed in a conspicuous position on the left or near side of the motor vehicle, so that the front of the licence and the writing thereon shall be clearly visible at all times to a person standing in front of the motor vehicle on the left or near side thereof ; and ( be made available for inspection on demand made by a police officer, Gram Siva Niladhari, or examiner, of by any person authorized in writing by the Commissioner or the licensing authority : Provided, however, that the revenue licence shall be removed from the vehicle and produced when required by a court or the Commissioner for endorsement or retention.
  3. I own an Escudo YOM 2000,manual transmission with 2.0L engine. It does about 6-8 kmpl on city running and about 9-11 kmpl on the highway.Body parts are not easy to find but most of the mechanical parts are available at panchikawatta. Some you can even order and get down from Singapore and still the price would be much less than AM*.
  4. Hi Guys, I am looking for a place at panchikawatta where i can buy a pair of front hub bearings for my vitara (TL52W).So if any of you guys have any info please let me know. Thanks
  5. You need to buy a 4 door van for a proper conversion.Usually the GL version is 5 door therefore i believe DX is more suitable.
  6. yes i brought a set of normal Denso plugs from the agents and they adviced me to change it every 15000 km's.It may not be necessary but after around 10000km's i felt a slight performance lag.The garage guy said the plugs are ok but i decided to change and it worked for me.
  7. Hi Thusithasam, I too own a kr42 A/T and it does around 7-8 kmpl in the city running with AC and 10-12 kmpl in the long run. I brought it unreg and changed the fuel filter with a genuine Toyota, changed A/T fluid using Toyota DII oil, changed the oil filter using VIC and did the service using Toyota oil.I also changed the spark plugs and cleaned the injectors using Wurth Injector cleaner. Since then at each service(every 5000Km's) i use Toyota oil,Vic oil filter and Sakura air filter element.I also make it a habit to change the spark plugs at every 10000 km's.
  8. The below link would get you the manufacturing year/month by entering the chassis number of a Japanese vehicle. http://www.sbtjapan.com/chassischeck.aspx
  9. I checked the prices last month and they were roughly between 2.9 million to 3.5 million. The N###an 2WD/AT version was the cheapest.
  10. i'm not sure whether this is a good method or not,but i use washing powder in the windscreen washer and it works for me all the time.
  11. well as far as i know you still can sue them though they have that clause in the receipt.I suggest you complain to consumer services authority.
  12. I own both KR42 and CR41 and my mechanic once said that the rear differentials are different in petrol and Diesel versions

    Atf Change

Go for Toyota DII transmission oil.a 4 litre can will cost you about 2800/= - 3000/= rupees. If you are changing it using the oil changer then you may need approxymately about 2 cans.I did mine at L@#GFS kohuwala. They did a pretty good job for a reasonable price.I cant remember the exact figure but the total cost was less than 7000/= with Toyota oil.
