  1. Excellent You closed the thread.
  2. Good question. We all expect a valid reason from him. These kind of treatments from a first owner cause problems not only to the car but also to owners after him. Better to avoid buying if the maintenance is problematic.
  3. I wonder why you went to a service center rather than agent at least for your first 10 services. I think there has to be more to test and check than oil changes when it comes to Hybrids. (Correct me if I am wrong pls) The best thing is to register your car at Stafford first and schedule maintenance plan with them. This will save you lot of money & time for sure. (Services may charge a bit more than so called "Service Stations" but at least the car is treated well) Also you better read how a Hybrid car should be maintained. There are many articles on web too.
  4. Thanks guys. I will go with 4DR6 but could any of you clarify this for me? Will the 4DR6 come with AC Compressors with Power Steering? I mean, as I have modified the 4DR5 with those, I may be able to reuse what I have or else, If the 4DR6 is equipped with those It's better to stick with them. Also what things would be to consider when a reconditioned 4DR6 engine is purchased? And any clue of where would I find better ones without being fooled by auto part sellers. Appreciate if you can share whatever the info you have with this regards. Thanks.
  5. Hi Guys, Could you share the details you know about transplanting a 4DR5 Engine with 4DR6 or 4D56 one? At the moment, its the 4DR5 Engine that I have in my J44 and would like to know which will fit the best if I am to do the transplant. For info, The 4DR5 is modified with Power steering / Dual A/C & I lack the knowledge of which engine will cater for those without major modifications that I did to the 4DR5. Anyone who has experience / Ideas / know how, Please post it. Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi Guys, A friend of mine has launched an app that will be helpful for EV users. "SLEV started as a community project in order to support for Electric Vehicle owners in Sri Lanka. Even though there was a huge demand for EV’s, finding charging stations, equipment’s and services was a considerable challenge. We started this project to address this primary issue. SLEV user friendly mobile app provides nearest charging stations and directions to reach! And it helps you to find EV service stations and equipment’. You can get updated with latest news regarding EVs. Feel free to be connected with EV forum." Hope any of you get benefited from this and feel free to contact him for your suggestions and inquiries. Thanks.
  8. What do you mean by this?
  9. As we discuss fuel figures vs Hybrids here, Can someone clarify the following please? 1. Lets assume we pay 4.5Million for a Hybrid Card 2. Use it mostly in the city where not even 100Kms per day is used & could be usually 2000Kms per month. 3. Lets assume Hybrid fuel consumption is 18/L and then you spend around 15000LKR for fuel 4. Regular car does around 10Km/L and have to spend 26000LKR per month 5. Saving is 11000LKR per month (Hopefully on fuel) 6. In 5 years time; savings of 6.6 laks Assuming a Hybrid is depreciated a lot more than a gasoline car, Will it worth saving 6.6 laks on fuel (Assuming no repairs done on any of those 2 cars)? Forgive me for not talking about the environment but I kind of feel like driving a CRV than Vezzel / or any other comparison of both Hybrid and Non-Hybrid is worth. (This may also be related with the unfair tax amounts we pay while bringing down an unit from Japan) Please be kind to share your thoughts with facts if possible to gain some knowledge. Thanks a lot in advance.
  10. Aren't these fugues normal? I suggest you to check the AC System from the agent or whoever an expert on Aqua (Lack of Gas or problems of AC System related to components or so may consume more power due to continues use of compressor )
  11. Not having practical experience but willing to add what I guess for this matter. Engine is running at idle speed. AC ON means it needs extra power. Since the vehicle does not move, the air comes though the radiator is not sufficient to cool down the heated coolant/water. You may; Check whether Idle up working as it should be Inspect any corrosion inside radiator / coolant / or water ( Color changed to brown ) Check whether the AC Compressor is having no issues (Including pulley & belts) Check whether the Radiator Fan is not having any minor defects. See maintenance record to get an idea about how old the coolant is. (May be right time to replace?) But before that; getting a good mechanic to see what the problem is worth.
  12. Can you provide some stats of how beneficial it is? Consider a major crash which needs many parts to be replaced for a modern vehicle.
  13. Tesla To Manufacture Model 3 Vehicle In China [REPORT] It is a good news [http://www.techbohay.com/tesla-to-manufacture-model-3-vehicle-in-china-report-70319/2] but the battery capacity is reduced to cater for the lower price range. Theoretically 200Km per charge and it may be 120Km - 150km here in SL? I guess so.. So in that case, better to go for a leaf isn't it? (Sorry for updating an older post)
  14. Good options. AE 100 is a nice car. I didn't own any but friends have many. So AE 100 doesn't give trouble although the Odo is very high. Running repairs and even parts are available almost every corner and easy to maintain. Other option is to go for a Alto as some suggested above. However its purely based on how you fall in love with a brand or a car. You can find many threads about how you can choose a good used vehicle on this forum. Read it, visit few cars and inspect. Don't go for the first car you see.
  15. My suggestion is to avoid TATA cars. In my case, better option would be a used Japanese car. May be a Nissan category and since you don't use it regularly, fuel consumption wouldn't be a problem. A well maintained Japanese car will be a better choice.
  16. Well that is a good one. Hope he already got his claim. For people like Janasakthi, this is what should be done.
  17. My personal experience is to go talk to a broker(A good one). You may get competitive rates as well as some 3rd party who knows some senior managers at almost all insurance companies. So in case of an incident where you need help to get a claim passed when minor staff say NO, broker certainly helpful. I have few experiences in the past where finally was able to get the full claim. Arguments happened but in a good way...
  18. You should let all of us know what the insurance company is. What I do normally is getting it from a broker. Had terrible experience with many insurance people in the past. With broker, I get lower rates as well as the broker is helpful to deal with claims rather than getting it through agents.

One of a best review I have ever read on the forum. Have you travelled to kandy in your trips ?
  20. Taxes will increase. May be on SUVs and luxury vehicles enabling Indian dumps can sell to each family in Sri Lanka.
  21. Just for the information, I inspected the vehicle and it's somewhat ok for the amount spent. However I do have a concern about how the commonrail 1.3T engine can handle the full load which is 7 seater with dual AC, EPS.
  22. Yes. It looks a bit same. Want to visit tomorrow.
  23. Hi Guys, Just to share this news, I hope no one has bought it yet. Heard its assembled here and manufactured in China. Video : https://www.facebook.com/unimo.lk/videos/795691350540007/ Any comments?
