  1. Not specific to your vehicle model but 1. Any black smoke (noticeably higher amount? 2. Did you change the air filter / diesel filter recently? 3. How about the engine heat while on load and at idle? This is commonly what I feel that you could check by yourself to identify if there is any problem.

    Motor Tricycle

Trike or could be the motor bike with side car. Something like a below one; I already have a motorbike, and may be a sidecar can be fixed to the one I have? And what license grade I should fall in to ride this thing on road? I looked few places and never found even any clue where I can find one. Appreciate your help. Thanks.

    Motor Tricycle

Hi Guys, Does anyone know a place where I can visit and buy a good Motor Tricycle around Colombo? Thanks for replying.
  4. You can apply some grease or oil those areas once in a while. It will protect from rusting.
  5. Try this one. (Butterfly ones)
  6. Of course. haha. you know the cops here. Always bring a big bottle of oil.
  7. I remember once I saw few jeeps were in trouble with cops at Dambulla area because they had different colors and bigger wheels. lol.
  8. I have no idea why you want to paint it in black but it has few negative impacts on your car. 1. It may not look original (With respect, It all depends on personal preferences) 2. It will absorb more heat (Though it may not notice, the AC system will have to run a bit longer to cool which needs more power & finally hits the mpg) 3. If I am not mistaken, it is not legal to change the original color of the vehicle ( Said in the registration book) but I think its not being questioned practically. A suggestion; If you need to make it look like black, why not use a sticker? You can reverse it to the original later if you need. (I think using a good quality sticker may cost you a bit more with warranty)
  9. Hi Guys, It's about the custom fixed dual ac unit (since 2012) for my jeep and I need to do a little modification. So need your opinion first to decide whether it's worth (or not). The condenser size is 13" * 18" and has 2 fans (6 inch blades I guess). Both are 24V and one takes about 4-5Amps to provide enough air to blow the leaves away on the road. (Due to this, the unit gets cold faster and switch off the compressor in few minutes) However, what my idea is to replace those two fans with a single one ( with a custom made frame ) which can be 24V or 12V with a converter possibly with a brush-less motor (Don't know whether they are available & If not please say it) So, please share your ideas about; 1. Are there any brush-less condenser fans available? 2. If so, will it provide enough blowing power to meet the above requirement? 3. And Is there a way I can measure how much of wind is needed to cool down the condenser (May be an electronic gadget attached to the fan? ) And finally, if things are worth trying, any suggestions of a model of the vehicle that comes such condenser fans so that I can have a look around delkanda or somewhere? Please share your opinion. Appreciate your inputs here.
  10. According to what I understood, The problem may be with the electronics / software related ( iDCD ?) (I am not an expert on this matter) Almost everyone suggested, you'd better see the agent before it's getting too late.
  11. JC, "Original KYB" means do we get duplicated ones? If so how I can find the original Japanese ones? According what the T**S Agencies rep told me, They have Oil and Gas both . He asked me to use GAS but I have a dough whether it will give a bumpy ride than what I have now. (4DR5 is already a rough ride though). Thank you.
  12. Tiv, Thanks for the tips and Yes I think Gas is not the right fit for me because mostly I drive alone or max is 4 people. Would you mind posting the agents of the brands you mentioned; Gabriel, Oldman Emu or Rancho?
  13. PS: Has anyone tried KYB Gas-A-Just shock for a cab (truck) or a jeep?
  14. Hi Guys, Need your expert advice on which shock absorbers to be selected for a 4DR5 J44. I have 2 options, KYB (Gas) for about Rs. 4000 Amada Xtreme for Rs. 8500 I am to replace all 4 and willing to buy any of the above. I kindly need expert advice on, 1. Is KYB good for a 4DR5? (Leaf Spring - kind of rough ride) 2. Is it worth to buy Amada Xtreme ( Cost to Benefit Ratio) than buying KYB? I am not a hardcore off roader and looking for an expert answer for this. May be someone has previous experience, please post. Thanks in advance.
  15. PM your details. I will send a contact. A good mechanic/garage at Katuwawala (Werahara)
  16. That is the only solution I guess. I just needed to buy them from local market. Anyone tried with this kind of DIY project at home? Please share some details. Other than nickle plates, nickle powder also available at eBay. I wonder which one is to buy.
  17. Keep looking. It is the only advice from my end. Believe me, I looked more than 18 vehicles to find a good 4DR5. (Y60 are rare than 4DR5 I guess) You can now check the vehicle details even online and try to stick to the original if the mods are not done by experts.
  18. No idea about VW. PM me your email if you wish to know a good old person who can repair almost anything.
  19. Hi Guys, Could any of you post a local place where I can buy pure nickel plates. This is to try nickel plating as a DIY project. Thanks so much in advance.
  20. Hi Guys, I need to buy some wires and stuff to do some DIY projects. So help me find a good place that I can buy wires and related things such as connectors, etc... for all automotive wiring. Please post a good place where I can buy them wholesale (Not very large scale) may be at pettah. Thanks.
  21. Thanks. Forget the non-turbo version. When it comes to turbo vs turbo inter-cooled versions, which one would be the most ideal for SL condition with the comparison of maintenance/reliability and the spares? Thanks.
  22. Hi Guys, Please be kind to clarify the below for me. In 4D56 Engines, some are non turbo and other are intercooler turbo or turbo. Is turbo intercooled better than normal turbo engines? What is the mechanical explanation? Mostly these engines come with 32- Pajero in SL (Known as Palath Sabha). Appreciate your reply. Thanks.
  23. Hi Guys, Topic is old but worth asking here than opening the same topic again. Have you bought any TK series GPS Trackers? For example there are many such as TK102, TK103, TK104, TK106 ...etc with their own functionalities for each. So, please post if you have bought any of those and how you review it. I look for one these days with motion activated with speed and direction. And wondering which one to buy. Hope for a better answer. Thanks guys.
