  1. Too many jokes around to laugh but there are who takes these serious and be proud by owning one. Rather, stick to the older merc that runs on almost row diesel.

    Tax Reduction

Hi Guys, Anyone happened to know any tax reduction (Most probably 30%) to be imposed by the government in near future? Thanks for posting a reply here.
  4. It's a green day!

  5. This light has 24 3W LED bulbs. Here is the each 3W LED spec; Power: 3WLuminous flux: 240LMInput voltage: DC 3.2-3.4V Datasheet is attached. Thanks.
  6. Hi Friends, I am having a pair of 72W LED Spot Lights. Here is the spec for those, Power : 72W Inout Voltage : 24 or 12V No of LEDs : 24 Current : 12V / 2.25A OR 24V/1.125A And I would like to install this on my Jeep. It is 24V and having two 90A batteries. So, I need to install a circuit or a resistor to manage the current I hope. I consider 2 options. 1. Buy a voltage step down unit for 24V to 12V (5A). Because sometimes the system goes up to 28V due to charging and discharging. So, this way I can get exact amount of 12V so the voltage will not fluctuate. 2. Add just a resistor as per your suggestions. So, Please help me with this. Thank you.
  7. fixing Idle up vacuum relay (DIY) (This is only relevant for older vehicles which does not have ECU or can drive through an EMP Attack ) When the AC is turned on the engine RPM should raise a bit to cater for the load it gets. To do so a vacuum line coming from alternator is connected to a mechanical suction unit (idle up switch). It pulls the accelerator cable so that the RPM increases. When AC compressor turns off the electrical relay valve cut off the vacuum suction to get the engine back to it's normal idle RPM. The guy who fixed the Idle up switch to my jeep has forgotten the relay. So it always gave a high RPM at idle. I had to fix the cut off relay for that. Below is the pics of those two units. Relay Pull Switch Happy DIY project if you own an oldie with dual AC
  8. Hi Guys, Could you all can comment on below request as per your understanding and experience please? My intention is to buy a small car for a lower budget typically made by indian for the purpose of hiring / taxing or personal travelling needs within city limits. This won't be used for long distance travel. The easiness to handle and comparably easier maintenance is really preferred. So, my list has Tata NANO and a recon Maruti / Alto. If I go for a NANO I will be able to get a bit new one for the amount I will have to spend for an old Maruti / Alto. I have been on both cars and personally as a passenger and as per I experienced Nano was better. My question is, if you own / owned either of these, could you comment on which to consider and why? Because it really helps me to make a decision. Thanks.

    32- isuzu trooper

You may use the below link to check the vehicle information. http://eservices.motortraffic.gov.lk/VehicleInfo/home Other than that, some troopers may have a body permit where they brought down a body for a permit issued by RMV and fitted to the older chassis. AFAIK this has been stopped now due to OUR people's behavior of "misuse" Anyway, if it is a body permit one, you should look at the papers and double check with RMV to validate it. If things are good, do a routine check and this link is a good post for you to read. If you are open for alternatives, you may consider Mitsubishi Pajero (Known as "Palath Sabha") but will cost you a bit more for a better condition one. What is hard is to find a better one where owners do not sell such vehicles easily unless otherwise it is really an important. Good luck. Experience the 4WD world. You will not fall back.
  10. Mix 50/50 water with white vinegar, and using a spray bottle, spray that mixture on those spots and let them "soak." Then rinse with water and repeat as necessary. If the mix of 50/50 water/vinegar mix does not work, use the distilled vinegar pure strenght on the concrete spots. Saturate a clean kitchen sponge with pure vinegar and hold the sponge over the concrete spots for a few minutes. The acid in the vinegar will help etch and dissolve the concrete. Rinse the area with water after the vinegar and then reapply wax or sealant to that area. Source : https://www.quora.com/How-can-I-remove-cement-water-stains-from-a-car
  11. Illegal as it is. But there is something else. The bumper should transfer the minimum effect to the chassis if there is a collision happens otherwise it transfers the shock to the chassis and ended up with cracks or damaged chassis. This was my personal experience once and kept the original buffer as it is. the gauge of the chassis is higher than the buffer and also the strength is. But it looks cool to have those in your vehicle.
  12. I hope it depends on the registration type of the vehicle. Check the book. If it says light vehicle you can. Ex. P number vans. If not you can't. Ex. N number ones. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
  13. AFAIK following indicates a gearbox issue. 1. Unusual vibrations especially when quick acceleration. 2. Slipping 3. Unusual roughness in shifting gears 4. Noises 5. Oil leaks 6. Delay gear engagement. Sometimes it's a bit hard to detect at the earliest stage but it's better to get the car inspected from agent before buying. It wouldn't cost much but worth a lot. Even if you buy you know what to repair.
  14. If you own a 4DR5, you may like this page; https://#####/jeepclub.lk/ and ask it there too. (Mods: Kindly allow the link.)
  15. It is a sticker pasted by Unim* guys for the display items. I also asked that. They also apply stickers based on customer's request (color changed) and adding it to the registration book. (Though I am not interested)
  16. Hi Guys, Anyone has an idea where I can buy a Ball joint puller? Seems A* P**l has but bit high in price. Anyone bought it recently? Kindly share the location and price please. Thanks.
  17. Another competitor for KWID and that range vehicles. Z100 and I visited the showroom today. The car is good compared to it's competitors and quoted 19.75Laks. Below I share the spec.
  18. Let me guess. Your friends may own either hybrids or indian made ones. ? Jeep is a different taste so you better work on it forgetting all the stories behind.
  19. Here is what I think about this vehicle; To be honest, I inspected many Indian made and China made (Glory 7 seater) and I think for the given price range / brand new vehicle, it is good to go with Glory. As I remember, It has dual AC and better space with 7 seater option which will be really helpful if you plan a long distance travel with family or few members. You can never compare Indian made or China made vehicles with Japanese or Euro ones. You may have to pay some attention while driving this on rainy days or in a place where water is filled higher than 8-10 inches or so because you find the alternator and certain parts are fixed at the bottom. Also I couldn't notice any engine guard too. Considering safety, don't rely on air bags or wherever the things comes with high end vehicles because it may protect you up to certain level but not always if you meet an accident with bus or lorry. So, you should know the country is converting in to another India little by little where people do not care where/what they drive. (not all but few who forget the ethics or driving in a public road). But, if you buy this for driving in the city such as your office transport, I suggest you to look something else which is smaller in size and economical enough to maintain for you. Finding engine parts won't be hard if you contact the company or may be you will find alternative parts as well. But for body parts, you may rely on the company for sometime. So, do a search with your needs and then decide.
  20. Guys, I am happy to share both manuals and I got it copied from Janith who was generous to let me get those copied. But it will take few weeks because those are not with me at the moment. So if you can wait, I can make copies of both mechanical and maintenance manuals and give it to you. Contact me via PM if you need any details. Vishwa, You are about to experience the most amazing thing in this world ( as I see as a jeep lover ) and you will learn lot of things even if you don't know anything at the beginning. So, do work on those issues and don't bother finding the perfect match such as original 4DR5 break boosters because people will sell recondition parts for higher margins (especially for jeeps) but you can think of replacing them with a bit better ones. For instance, I replaced 4DR5 booster and pump with a Pajero one ( may need to re-adjust the clutch a bit but you can manage) and it gives me more power compared to original. Meanwhile, the vacuum power was increased with a new alternator that has a bigger vacuum pump. ( This was mandatory for me because I fixed dual AC unit) Anyway, there are experts (not me - & professionals) in this forum who can help you (helped me in many cases as well) for the matter arise on the go. So get the benefit. If you do it right, you will end up with a better vehicle that you loves and happily get in to drive with a smile in face. Good luck.
  21. Came across with this http://www.hyundai.com/wcm/upload_wwn/IN/ebrochure/2013_Grand_i10_ebrochure_1460365167895.pdf and it seems like a bit better than what is coming from India these days.
  22. Hopefully it would be Toyota Axio Hybrid 2016 if the tax ratio and market values be same for another 2 years. Can you guess any elections or any political agendas because it does matter I think.
  23. Guys, Thanks for your suggestions and I fixed it with a Nichrome Wire 18AWG and works fine which it gets hot (RED) in about 10-12 seconds.
