  1. Well my figures are plainly based on running in kandy and a bit off road, Also all my pricing figures were considering agent maintenance I understand your enthusiasm , maybe I am heavy footed, but I do not see the point of praising a car based on fuel economy. It's like scoring a body builder based on what he eats. My comment one the 120 was based on a car I was given by an embassy for a visit, period of 4 weeks, it was equally bumpy so I felt right at home, coming back it felt no different. That was a petrol one btw. Anyways OP do search well as you can get a brilliant Raize with a nice body kit for that money now!
  2. If you had the courtesy to search the forum, you would have almost found all answers in one go. Anyways 1. Ride comfort similar to a 120 Prado, it’s not as uncomfortable as a pickup other than the anterior part of the chassis the rest is totally different. Including certain engine parts and tune. lot of bullshit being circulated by car sales people to discourage the model so that they can sell the jdm imports. In Australia and most countries in 2012 the Montero Sport competed with the 150 Prado in the market. 2. None of the Diesel or petrol SUVs are good on fuel, the market is a complete fake mirror, they bloat 13kmpl and hybrid fuel figures. realistic figures long distance 7kmpl and traffic 2 - 4 kmpl, yes it’s diesel. If you are looking at an suv of this size, please don’t focus on fuel figures, you will be terribly disappointed. 3. Market values range from 6.2 to 6.5 - 2wd or manual models 6.8 up for GLX models Auto , 7.5 up for GLS models (rare) 8mil up for 2014 models (rare) black being the cheapest, pearl white being the most costly and demand (rare) 150000km mileage is nothing for the gear on the suv so don’t worry there. Truth is most of the so called 72000km posts by the buy and sell boys on fb have crossed 200,000km. Buy from an honest 1-3rd owners 4. Faults are very rare, the Timing belt change is a costly affair about 150,000lkr job they chew through brake pads roughly every 20000km running repairs similar to any mid size or large suv, look for an exclusively company maintained vehicle for you to be safe from mileage issues as well and hidden horrors. also do not go by the owners as most 1st real owner cars are 3rd owner on the book CR as the agent purchased permits and ordered and did a same day transfer And paid transfer tax, some ordeal to deliver the cars soon. I don’t know how the second party came in but I’ve seen several CRs with the same thing. Mine is not a permit one. agents had most parts, and delkanda sellers also have parts apparently. 5. You have to check if the luxury taxes have been paid, whilst insuring the vehicle. there should be 7 installments with receipts check this http://www.motortraffic.gov.lk/web/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=93&Itemid=126&lang=en they are nippy yet robust vehicles, lot of fun off road, cheap to run and have a lot of road presence. and again search the forum, you will find more. PLEASE NOTE, DO NOT GO FOR THE CHEAPEST CAR IN THE MARKET, as unimo claims approx 44 00 vehicles came to the market, the abused ones, people try to pass off as cheap. Buy a well maintained one, or search harder.
  3. As far as I know the rear camber in the aqua is not adjustable, check if yours are. Almost all the newer toyota hatches have a small toe out , and negative camber , could be that but can't be serious as yours Before changing tyre sizes do a wheel alignment including camber and caster. Check all bushings, meanwhile use a used tyre set or something until you make sure the tyres wear equally.
  4. Is this a front tyre or rear tyre?
  5. The reality is that even if u spend millions on these ancillaries to coat or protect another ancillary ( paint) , we travel on public roads shared by people owning vehicles of value 10000 rs to 60mil rupees on a given day, nothing can save you from a scratch or a ding or even a stone chip. So my suggestion would be do a simple wash and a high quality wax, pay the rest for insurance.
  6. Spot on mate, cla has developed a lot of issues over few months, the grey imports D*MO models however are doing well. But those are the 180s with minimum trim
  7. What is the hype with the Ford Ranger Raptor that comes here ?

Show pony ranger with marketing to make it look like the real deal from us?

It's just a pickup with fox racing suspension that costs 2mil to replace, being part Thailand and part indian will depreciate enormously!

Baja mode seriously? On small tyres?

Theres no astronomical power output, nor ground clearance, nor bells and whistles

    Just loads of cladding

What am I missing? Good way to loose 15mil ? I'm sure a palath sabaha pajero can manage the same in good nick! Let alone a Hilux or L200

  8. My late grandpa who was a planter had the lwb model with soft top, I distinctly remember him mentioning he used to stash the estate pay day cash in this chamber every month from the bank to the office while he trotted back.
  9. My memory is very faint but when these came in new they were the bomb. Held the spotlight momentarily. In 2001 we were going to to buy a genuine Highway Star model, fully loaded but gave up due to bad reviews. Also the market got washed up after the cr41 came. Notable problems were, low pulling power Shoddy auto transmission, aircon issues, steep drop in power due to aircon. Non specific engine problems related to ancillaries Alternator issues, steering rack issues.
  10. Anyone interested in classic bikes here?

Got myself into a CD200 roadmaster restoration situation!

I know I sent a friend over to check it out

They are plated. Sadly there are no good plating joints in SL

      Everyone has a horror story

If you are buying chrome bits you gotta buy new or else due to stone chips n all things will start to rot gradually, whatever plating does in SL is to cheaply cover the old defects

    3. AVANTE

      AVANTE

Ayyo, true about the plating issue. The experts have told me not a effective good plating place in Lanka. Can't we give them a special coating (ceramic, nano, etc) to save them from rotting away?

@AVANTE Nope no Bikes mate. yep, Plated mud guards would look much better.

  11. So a dealer tells me; most sold car part of these few months

SIRENS with mic etc and V*P lights

Funny thing is most are fitted to crapboxes.

  12. Dude there are raize for 6.7 to 7 mil also check the fast ad site
  13. The raize is a joke above 6 million. Vitara starts at like 6.3 and go to 6.5. Take a look at both, u ll realise how small the raize is.
  14. The set I bought, the offset is a bit too wide, trying to get this flush look, also the grmn has stiff suspension So the 205 45 r 17s are likely to rub I fear. So ordered a 195 45 r17 Waiting for them to arrive
  15. Just gonna have fun with it and see, lifes too short to run on factory wheels !
  16. I saw a car just like yours at kandy suvasevana hospital a few days ago, was it you? Looking good! Also a variant of Vitzs came from factory with a similar wheel design including my wifes one They are enkei 14 inch, I'm not a fan of these , will be swapping them for 17s soon
  17. This works but the fuse is not shown here also the stock horn will have only a 12v lead, will mostly be self grounded.
  18. Do not use that, expensive to fix if you burn something or if the horns screw up. wiring directly to the integrated hifi relay, may maynot go well depending on the load set by your horns so to be safe use the oem line as a trigger and fix a new relay with socket separately, that way the car is always safe. You can always go back to oem with just a scissor. do not go to stuff that relay inside the factory boxes, anchor it elsewhere. Use a relay with socket always. Get the power feed to the relay from the battery with a fused line with the fuse being like 2cm from the battery terminal, throughly insulated and zip tied to a place. 10A fuse is enough then ground the relay to a nearby nut, take the power out from the relay and wire up your horns, if the horns have 2 pins, clip 2 ground wires to the horn and secure that ground to a separate nut, not the nut holding the horns to the body, if the horn has any openings face them down as water pooling inside will damage the horns. use zip ties, clips and crimping tools. Do not attempt if you are not confident. Double insulation on normal wires, triple insulation on joints. The above way bth 12v feeds going into the relay are fused, thereby nothing can short circuit. cars aRe constantly moving And getting wet, so wiring is a bit overdone unlike static indoor wiring at homes also that battery tap wire with the fuse that you set can be used for all future mods, ie car amp, fog lights, light bars, more horns, neons, whatnot Just need to 1 up the fuse when needed to match the load. using wiring capable of at least taking 20A

    Landsail Tyres

    Is tyrebass .lk reliable???
  20. tiv

    Landsail Tyres

Yes true, they bring some of the awkward tyre sizes, that being low profile they’ve found their way into may aquas g sports and even older mercs. Locally they’ve become Popular with ricer boys running large rims lol
  21. tiv

    Landsail Tyres

I've heard many reviews of these being good tyres, theres a big local demand as well, yet to use them though Another underrated brand is Westlake, they arent bought down now.
  22. Most cars dont come with relays, and most of the entry level models come with only one note/ single horn. People do this different ways, including just running both the horns through the existing wiring. If you do not have a factory relay to hold the load, Doing this u can blow a fuse, or heat / melt up the wiring, and also burn the horn switch inside the steering wheel. Also the horn wont be loud enough piss off the fellow in front. The safest way to do this is, not to meddle with the factory wiring even if there is a relay, just make a new harness for the horn, a separate relay, triggered by the horn with supply direct from the battery via a a good fuse link. High quality wiring, clamps and crimping is a must with 1 layer of insulation and 1 layer of heatshielding/ braiding. And zip ties to anchor the wiring. Crimping and heat shrink it's better than soldering, if possible or atleast solder, do not twist wires and tape. If you do have a relay in the factory loom, you can just split the existing line and upgrade the relay in the fuse box for your new horn set. Try to get Bosch ( not that knock off yellow tin BEOSCH) or Hella, I've been using them for decades with no trouble, mostly hella- over 15 sets in different cars now. So called Toyota premium horns sold by vendors are a joke to me. If you are not competent pls dont attempt it, as you can always pop an airbag or burn your car up or hurt the ecu, or wiring loom. Abd thus If you arent into DIY, Give it to a good electrician and watch him do the above steps.
  23. I use a Bush mechanic from the Katugastota area for my work, anything Mitsubishi I give to the agents. If u are interested I ll pass the contacts But its not a posh joint, small place in a narrow road, but will know your car in and out
  24. So I have this habit, I go up the hantana range to a secluded spot way up in the hills and fly my drones, I do it almost every 2 weeks in my montero sport. Since my car is in the garage being painted, i took the family Montero v98

Seems the ground clearance is lower than the Montero sport that I managed to peel or off the rear bumper costing 90k for the fix, a ledge that I cross frequently

Dad has been swearing since morning now. This is gonna be a fun weekend

      @Gummybr will pm u

Your Jimny will hop through it no issues.

@Hyaenidae some bits like clips and all dont move that much ne, they are out of stock

@Magnum the way the suspension behaves its totally different in the 2

Lot of overhang in the pajero, ands heavy

If u loose traction on a slant it will start to sway and hit something.

This weekend I went in the vitara, she managed without any issue. but I was super careful. Had a spotter to watch tricky places n all

To add I have 265 75 16s on the montero sport, AT one size up than standard.

Whereas my dad has 265 65 17s on the montero, almost a road tyre

The vitara comes with 215 55 17s again road tyre but is way lighter and nimbler,

@tiv thanks for the detailed explanation. The phantam 3 series isn't available anymore. Most are used by now.

I would like an Air 2, but I can buy two mini's for the price of one Air 2. Is it worth the extra cash?

Also whats the situation on drone regulations now?

The mini is under 250g, so the FAA in the states. has no issues(under 250g considered a toy). Is it the same in SL? Internet search has hazy information.

Phantom 3 s are available, as they are constantly refurbished, there are guys who sell them as brand new.

Unless you are a drone geek, no point on investing on an Air 2,

start with a mini, but the thing is now minis are so rare, due to import restrictions.

noobs who bought em crashed them in days, so a mini can go upto 130 with combo kit new now. Used ones at 105, 110 with come 80s with standard pack.

anything lesser is broken as it has no sensors and is tiny and fast so fellas tried to kiss walls.

Anything with a camera has to be register3d as CAA, so u got to do that online, and they give u a date to come show the drone. They put a code on it, thereafter you got to pay to fly it aka getting a permit.

i do most of my flying in private property with permission thereby I don’t have to pay for permits, but I have registered the drones through the site, was not called for an inspection to date for the mini.

The mavics don’t grasp attention, mavic mini most think it’s a toy, thus no one goes to register.

phantoms on the other hand Attract hooligans to cute chicks to dogs. Then after like 30min, battery dying; a cop comes by
