    Nissan Presea

The Nightbreaker lineage claims to put out more light, at more or less the same wattage and puts out more whiter light, Well once you actually do the swap and turn the lights on, you realize there is a major difference, in spread/distance/ and the colour. If your lights are that dim, do look into the battery and charging circuit as well. AFAIK, xenon - hid is a different technology all in all, so the xenon setup needs the whole hid kit to run, I'm sure you have seen pairs of bulbs in plastic boxes labelled HID and Xenon etc, these are just halogen bulbs dipped in some flaky paint, of chinese origin, utter counterfeit crap. If you are talking about installing HIDs to your existing headlamps, one issue would be, you find loads of hideous low quality kits, that last only weeks, Most importantly these kits were not designed to be used in your stock housing. so they would throw light all over the place blinding the oncoming traffic. You can get high brightness by 1.Increasing the wattage; but you will have to upgrade the wiring loom and the sockets, may risk damage to the headlamp itself 2. Premium bulbs, Osram Philips PIAA ( please take a look at the ebay thread, we had a good discussion on this) 3. LED bulbs, expensive, brighter, consumes less electricity, and hard to find a good kit, likely to cause interference on the stereo. Lastly, coming back to Nightbreakers, they are just bulbs in a pack, matter of minutes to swap the bulbs, no modification whatsoever to the car. Excuse me for my ignorance, was there any presea variant that had HID as stock? If so you can consider a swap, but its going to be expensive

    Sat Nav (Gps) Help

Well I've been using the Sala Prosat Device since 2013, Got it updated several times, Except for the suction cup, which failed recently, the device is rather bullet proof. The guidance system is quite good. Maps are updated time to time (highway stuff etc) The voice guidance is decent but nowhere near compared to systems in European countries. As for fixture, these devices either have a suction cup or if you have Navigation compatible head unit, you can get an SD Also theres this new device called navgo which forms an interface between a non navi compatible head unit and provides on-screen gps, on sale for a similar sum, Komi knows more on this. Also look up for devices for sale in popular classifieds sites, You might be able to find a mildly used one. I too feel 25k is a tad bit too high for a gps, system, especially since its just software installed on a generic Chinese head unit Please do mind I do not work for any of the above companies, If this post seems like an advert, admins feel free.
  4. If your wheel is a generic rim (as per OP picture) from a popular car model, make (say corolla / toyota) I've seen Toyota van rims go from Rs.2500 upwards I feel it might be cheaper and safer to buy a used one, loads available due to wheel swaps etc, besides restoring this is going to cost you somewhat similar or more ( Prices vary with with place and person) and the possibility depends on the degree of damage. Also do take a look at your suspension while you are at it, there's a possibility this blow damaged other components, you'll obviously have to do the wheel alignment.

    Help Order Tracking

+1 Sampath, I too feel that the item is held by customs, did u check on the slpost site I linked earlier? Give it a try. If you are comfortable you may share what you imported, so that we too can watch-out for this delay and all of us love to hear about new car parts

    Help Order Tracking

If they have given you a tracking reference; Use one of the following appropriately, or they may have recommended another as per country, item etc http://track-chinapost.com https://www.17track.net/ http://www.trackitonline.ru/ If the the parcel has already reached the Sri Lanka Postal Service, you may use the same Reference and track it through the following https://ipslight.upu.org/ (User name / Password - slpost) You'll have to try it many times as the whole of Sri Lanka logs in with this one account to track parcels. And if these items are less than $10, the tracking detail they give is usually a fake one, also keep in mind stuff takes 3 weeks or more to reach usually, unless its courier.
  10. Machan how did u get this down? did it arrive at your house or Did u have to go through customs? Do they tax heavy?

    Toyota Hiace

This indeed has happened to me once, and there was one other time the driver was tricked /or stupid enough to believe IOC Xtramile was the same as Super Diesel, Ended up with an error code, after that tank.
  12. Yes there is a turning radius compromise do to the articulation limit of front CVs, same story on Noahs and many Japanese Vans, and some AWD cars. Most SUVs in general do not have a good turning radius, thereby its not noticed.
  13. So is your Hiace an AWD? If I recall the KDH205 was AWD, considered one myself once, is the 206 the successor?
  14. The center differential will be present in most of the above setups but however locking the centre differential is a variable option from make to model. The center diff when locked provides an equal torque distribution to both the front and rear wheels, Useful when bogged down and aids traction and cornering in rally cars. AFAIK the Fortuner lineage share the same part time 4wd setup as they are based on the pickup truck platform and internals, they do not have a centre differential, Some are factory fitted with a rear LSD or a Lockable rear differential, I'm not very sure about the Monterosport though. Most of the newer vans are AWD rather than 4WD with a centre diff, where the front wheels engage automatically, but I've not seen the lock function though. A bit of ignored trivia; all Defenders are AWD and come with a lockable center differential, completely mechanical almost to date and is activated by pulling the H-L shifter about 8" towards the driver, crude but effective

    Toyota Hiace

Damn that Hiace must've pulled like a train at the time with I have the Prado engine bragging rights
  16. Thanks for the reply davy, I've got a feeling they'll reject it as well cos its a small job, anyways I ll check and get back to you.

As far as I know the above engines don't use the sophisticated injector system and are relatively bullet proof compared to the KD series, They've been around here since the 90s and have coped well with the normal diesel. I've seen chaps using Super diesel on 80s vans and even those diesel 3 wheelers, claiming better mpg and better pickup. Yup the D4D injectors cost 70k+ per unit and once installed must be recoded at the agent or equivalent for them to fire and run smooth.
  18. Hi Davy, and fellas Would anyone be kind enough to advice me with a location/ enterprise where I could get a similar leather / rexin wrap with seam done on the center console armrest as pictured below. Many of the main stream joints refuse to undertake a small job as this and I am perfectly satisfied with my oem leather interior (they wanna redo the seats etc). Just that I tend to use this bit a lot and would like to have refinished.

Also to mention, I don't see why people hold back 10rs and pump Normal diesel while a Euro spec grade (4Star) is provided rather cheaply and at such easy disposal. DPF or Not whatever the model. Besides there is a marked difference in the pull and idle, on the long run, there is noteworthy difference in aging between the KD engine run on normal fuel and on super diesel, this I've monitored personally with a counterpart, the fuel filter element is visible in these engines, there is barely any visible gunk when the premium diesel is used, this has been seconded by Toyota Lanka and several reputed service stations. I'm sure Supra and Magnum can second that Sadly I don't have my own pictures at the moment, Stock filter Off Hilux forums to get an Idea, The filter looks similar when normal diesel was used This was somewhat similar to the filter condition I see with premium diesel Well this was no controlled experiment and with no set parameters or criteria. Just delivering a humble message with the use of forum pictures, and experience to prevent anyone from ruining these engines prematurely. Happy Motoring

Thanks for stating your experience, just asking; Why didn't you invest on a hybrid van like the Noah/Voxy/Esquire as you are a fan of the whole fuel saving movement, would have been rather entertaining with all the displays graphs and eco figures you know. Or were you looking at sheer passenger capacity?

    Toyota Hiace

Not to undermine your fuel figures or your vehicle. My Hilux has the same engine, probably the same performance or lesser, but Manual Transmission, Torque focused gear ratios, Larger tyres, 42000km ODO, Used Super Diesel to date All Genuine Toyota oils and filters; Probably heavier / unladen, given all that barely does 7-8kmpl on a good day, half of yours, but of course I am not as obsessed as you with fuel figures but yours do seem a bit, lets just say on the optimistic side.

Seems like a lot of elbow grease had gone into that front end, especially the lights, Thumbs up
  24. Well those nightbreakers better work lol, or else its gonna be either a projector fog conversion or mean spot lamps on the grill.
