  1. Hi Members

i know it is not relevant to Automobile, but I just need to get some advice if anybody has gone through this.

I lost my house deed a few days ago and until today I couldn't find it.it is a prime property.  I suspect that it was stolen . can anyone misuse it by using the original deed. what precaution steps i should take? can i get another original copy?

    appreciate your valuable advice.

    Many thanks

Sorry to bump up old thread again, but I think this issue might exists for both Suzuki Swift 2017 and 2018 models (RS, ML hybrid and non hybrid). As mentioned above in this thread I got this issue resolved at A*W (I got this ratlling noice in lower speeds (below 20 kmh) drive at small ditched road such as concrete roads.) repair center, what they had done is replace the grease inside the rack since existing one is not suitable (Melting) for SL temperature and they do recalibrate the stearing rack. It cost me below 10k with wheel alignment. I got this issue when vehicle @ 1500 km and had done the repair on 8200 Km so far I have driven more than 3000Km and issue is not came up again.

what was the cost to do this?

  3. @Schiffer

I am sure that you have not driven an A-Star to make such comments. I think A-Star is way ahead of the elite. Astar is not a car which was built just for Indian and sri lankan customers,it is exported worldwide and there are very good comments in other international forums about this car,

  4. I agree, the behind leg space is slightly less than Viva but not bad as an Alto or maruti.I suggest you to do a test drive in both cars and make decision. In my point of view I preferred A-star to a viva

regarding the waiting time, A*W delivered the car on the date they promised which is around 2 months.

  5. I beg to differ. I drove an A-Star manual to Kandy and back during the Perahera, and you have to really know NOTHING about cars and driving to say things like "pleasure of driving" and "pulling power is great" about it! And this is a brand new car. Less that 500km on the clock.

I mean, really. K series engines give pleasure of driving? Must be to folk upgrading from a trishaw. And even then I'm not sure.

How many went in the car??

  6. Hi Harindi,

The initial cost will be definitely low in Viva elite than A-Star. But the K-Series engine which comes with A-star will give you more pleasure of driving as well as more fuel savings than Viva Elite.

    Kasun

In addition to that the vehicle control is very good and pulling power is great ... its is actually a bigger can than a VIVA and have good ground clearance

  7. thnx machan. The idea I had to go for A star is changed..Complainingly it looks viva is better. Now my purchase sways around Viva or swift(registered car).

If you have a higher budget to go for a swift, you can also consider an unregistered Passo which is the best option than Perodua. I have seen few Viva's on the raod almost to hit the ground. worst ground clearance for a car in SL

  8. LOL..I'd like to meet these people who are impressed by a Maruti, and keep them from reproducing by cutting off their genetalia...because I want the human kind to carry on this wonderful thing called imagination well in to the distant future,I want our grand children to have as much fun playing with their minds as we do and thus realise The power of dreams!...Amen! :D

...Yet another pubilc service from MasterDon.You're welcome! :P

During good old days, this is wat the european car owners said for Japanese car owners .... but today things have changed... you cannot think in the same way everyday.... people learn by mistakes and experience... I also had a jap swift(old model) but I dont see a major drawback in this new Maruti Astar ...looks good in every aspect a usual small car should do, it terms of looks its upto the buyer who is willing to buy, if u dont like the headlight size u dont have to buy it..simply as that... but I dont see Maruti800 and alto as good cars..they have to improve alot

  9. Thanks Guys..

    @ CoolTempo

Can You review the Car little bit more(petrol consumption, speed...etc)_ nd the price also(I couldn't able to contact any A*W showrooms since continnuoly 3 days holiday)..

    Eager to hear from you...

would you recommened this to me...???

    pls..

well with regard to petrol consumption, it works around 13-14 with AC in Colombo. outstation more than 18 (estimated when I drove to matara last week) very good control in high speed. clearly shows the effect of an aerodynamic dynamic design of it. i Liked it alot. need more power in traffic which you find it in most of the 1000cc powered cars. u can here the engine noise slightly may be because it is a 3 cylinder engine.looks nice on the road trust me this car makes people to look back again :). hope this will help you..

  10. Gobi, I think you shouldn't buy the A-star. If calling up A*W and a bank/leasing company is too expensive how on earth would you meet the payments?

Pick the phone and make a few calls man, wont cost an arm and a leg to do so.

Also I doubt there are many users of this Maruti Astar yet, seeking opinions would be a tough ask. I for didn't even know a such model existed.

I agree Devaka :)..Gobi you can refer my thread of Astar from this link I am an owner of it. so far so good for me

  11. It's not exactly the leg room itself I was describing as Killer-B pointed but the overall result which comes along with the wooden like seats. Besides, they're not even in the same category with the Alto being a kei car and the Starlet isn't.

As you seem to favour the Maruti Alto though, do go for one if you really want to. But I've met much more than one person regretting buying the Maruti instead of the Suzuki 660cc at a little extra cost cuz of the lack of power, worse build quality, less efficiency, less quality parts needing more frequent replacement and so on, in the end leading to a higher cost of ownership.

No i was a maruti alto owner for more than two years... initially I had a starlet tooo. but indian altos are not that bad as u have mentioned abv...

  12. previously I had an Alto... I Recently purchased an AStar from A*W... got it last week to my hand..it is a very good car for 1.7 Mil ... Decent Interior... attractive design... for me it looks nicer than a Passo or Vitz :).. good ground clearance (170mm)... excellent handling (U have to drive and see to experience it)...security system was installed by the dealer free of charge..in addition to that u get a good factory fitted sound system with MP3\CD player with four speakers.. if you can afford that price this is the car for you...infact in India users have rated this car above Hyundai i10.. i got it with 2 years \40k's warranty as well

  13. what I heard was this is done for the European market and extensively tested in European conditions. but this car goes in different name such as Alto, Celerio and also as Nissan Pixo. seems to be a good car produced in india under European standards.

    crash test

end of the day its made in india :)
