My previous FB15 went all the way. As per the tech at A*W it was supposed to; the current Honda doesn't. As per the forums, its not supposed to.
  6. No first hand experience but based on what I've read on the forum; these are two opposites.
  7. Auto comes to about 2.2mn Manual to about 1.8~1.9

  9. @ N@visport. You need to read my first comment before commenting on my contribution to the topic. The only reason there were two wasted posts was because of an annoying comment and an equally annoying defense to said comment. Anyways I really don't need to waste time on you and I'm sure you feel the same way about me, so I'll just quit now.
  10. @ N@visport, yes it is harsh. I'm happy you can tell the difference. I intended it to be harsh; Why? Off the top of my head; 1. He has bad netiquette. 2. He is self opinionated and righteous 3. He barges in to a topic; that whilst may not interest everybody certainly interested the OP, and proclaimed his views to the forum without the intention of helping the guy. refer 2 above The cesspool comment had nothing to with the fact that he preferred 'driving' his car. You seem to have misunderstood. It’s a derogatory reference which is expected to convey my disgust at his attitude towards the forum. And by the way he is not special. Of all places, AL is probably where you would find this attribute the most. If I recall, this may be the first time I contributes to a fuel consumption thread and that too because I wanted to clarify on the subject. You too are not special. Search the forum and you'd find a million knights defend the trodden. If he has an issue with me. let him say it. Get off your stool, your initial comment whilst not be original in any sense, was acceptable since it was made at least relevant. And FYA, 10kmpl is not an urban legend. You need to get out more..
  11. When any of us need to know what the hell you think about our choice in automobiles; be it 2, 3 or 4 wheel; we'll just give you a holler. Till then crawl back in to the cesspool you seem to dragged your self out of. The comments on this thread didn't advocate hypermiling or fuel conservation;not that either is bad mind you; we just contributed to the OPs query.
  12. Are you sure about the driving on a highway bit? I always though shifting in to N took advantage of the built up momentum whereas leaving it in D and taking the foot off was not as effective since the engine breaking effect.
  13. Also I've seen many extend the wipes so hat its sanding clear off the windscreen. I believe the logic is that the rubbe heats up and is effected. Sound logic
  14. First of, a car is not an investment. Trying to analyse anything using a formula or tool or concept that wasn't meant for it in the first place doesn't make sense. Hence my comment with re: to the ROI. Secondly, trying to "judge the future value of a car" in a world that is neither linear nor static is impractical to say the least(put it politely). Plus a difference of just 1.5 kmpl is pretty far fetched. But then this is just my opinion.. no need to argue about it. Publishing your calculations would be helpful though..
  15. Would you mind sharing you calculations with us? Cos most people would agree that the 1000 cc variant does poorer on fuel efficiency than the 1300cc version. So just curious on you TCO calculations? ROI???? er a car is NOT an investment so just curios how you did this...
  16. These are pics of a 2 door hatch
  17. Hi guys, probably a dumb question, but would it help if one were to ask for a liter of petrol into a clear bottle first ? I mean would we be able to distinguish the bad stuff that way?
  18. Well you learn something new everyday, always though the major automakers only concentrated on the large markets i.e. JDM, USDM, Euro and had generic models for other makets like SL.. Hence never heard of SLDM or PKDM. Thanks for the info
  19. The ES series started in 2000 so I guess you must be the Ek series when you say previous models. And technically weren't they called Vi? I'm driving a 2000 ES8 that's Vti and got both a 1500cc engine and a CVT tranny. How do i know this? Well.. the chassis swear its a ES, the engine swears its 1500cc and gear box screams "CVT" :P
  20. 1. No the VTi also came in 1500cc 2. There's more than 2 variants with regards to tranny; manual, automatic and CVT automatic 3. The 'premium Oriel' isn't the only version with retractable mirrors and height adjustable seating
  21. Please do correct me if I am wrong. 1. is this model available both in 1500CC and 1600CC? - ES5 is 1600 cc. ES1 and ES8 come in 1500 cc 2. from which year the face lift is available? - 2003/04 is aw some advertisements claiming a fuel consumption of : City - 10 km/l Outstation- Above 13.5 km/l can this be true? - Yes 3. does this have similar leg room and interior space as the corolla? - More. Specially the rear 4.is this the model that came before this shape http://autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=50604 - model, yes. but again depends on the year. The 'face lift' version was the one directly preceding the car depicted 5. if any of you own or have driven one could tell me about the performance - driven one briefly. own a es8. Performance is subjective, but it does pick up quite well 6. what do you think about installing a bodykit like this http://autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=50731?'>http://autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=50731? is it too low? will knock too much? (in kandy) - link doesn't open 7. finally one car Vtec engine http://autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=50731 and the other VTi engine http://autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=51006 which engine is better? VTi is a trim\version (similar to Xli or Gli for 121) means the car has a V-Tec engine. So both are effectively the same
