If you are on a tight budget, get the oil and filter changes done at the local garage, and take it to the local service station for an underbody wash and clean. I do my servicing at GTA service station Pagoda which is my local. This is for convenience more than anything else as I can walk home after dropping the cars there. I heard PitStop is very good, but I don't see much value they can add on a service. I sometimes get my mechanic to do the oil change as service stations have a habit of substituting low quality filters etc when the VIC version is not available. To be honest changing filters and oil, I can do myself, but considering the garage cost and the fact I have to find a way of disposing/ resycling the oil, its eaiser to get the mech to do it.
  3. Yes the anti glare side mirrors are standard on BMW at least as much as I know.

Yes but A*W are agents for Suzuki. They aren't for Mazda......
  5. Stop wasting my time, and stop creating new topics for items you can easily use this thread to keep going. All of your questions are related to your CS3. They don't need 10 threads!!!
  6. The thread is 5 years old. Please pay attention to the last post date before waking up threads. And welcome to Autolanka!

Pitstop offers a fairly good service solution. I'm not sure why you would take to A*W though... (maybe you meant Pit Stop). You can check with the Mazda agent Colonial and see what your car costs to service there. As for filters if Genuine is too expensive VIC is the next best option. Don't use anything else. For prices you will have to pick up the telephone and call the dealers. Rainbow and Gamlath in Panchi deal with Mazda spares. If you are going to supply all the parts and oil why go to A*W or anybody else. You can go to your local garage, get all the filters and oil changed, take it to a car wash and get the car washed. Thats all what a service is.
  8. All the M series engines are chain driven as far as I know.

How do you know the Caltex variety is better quality than the oil badged Toyota?
  10. That would be an interesting buy indeed. What year is it? Its the later versions which are quite attractive as they came with more bells and whistles.
  11. To get any real value for your money you need to at least get the 318i or the 320i. Both are 2L engines with 318i being 4 cylinder and the 320 being 6. There is a 316i as well which is a 1.8L but is a bit under powered. There are more exotic 325i 328i etc but they are rate in SL. The options you mention, you can get on a JDM as well. A few econo JDMs particularly Mitsubishi Lancers had climate control AC even in the early 90s. You need to get a car with known history, well maintained etc. Best get it inspected by a specialist or agent as well. Don't buy one because its cheap. You won't one buy for fuel economy, and in general they cost a bit more to service and maintain. Your local mechanic can do some work, but for a lot a specialist is better. The M series petrol engines were fairly reliable, but you are likely to come accross issues with hoses, brakes, oil seals, cooling system etc.
  12. If you get a blank key with transponder, you can get it cut, well anywhere, and then get it programmed at one of the pug specialists. If you want an original key, the agents can get one down for you from the factory.
  13. Cake? Are you kidding me! Look at the abuse you get
  14. Don't give publicity to things like this. They are an utter waste of time and more importantly money. I'm going to take the link out as Google will use the back link as evidence that site is authorative when it clearly isn.t
  15. You should speak to the agent. They will know as I think they plan to import this model officially. The problem is some systems are multi language, like for cars sold in Europe, they sometimes have multiple European languages. You can sometimes even switch from kph to mph. But this is not possible in all, as providing that facility requires space, and Japanese manufacturers always have Japan only special editions and features.

Quite true. Infrastructure needs to build for demand (ok, I guess you can build expecting demand but you need a strong business case), and the presence of infrastructure does not denote development. The recent problems in Spain was also caused by over development where there was a massive building boom, then they could not find tennants or potential buyers, leading the developers to default on loans which put banks under stress. If the afore mentioned ruler had any class, he would have opposed the naming and deferred that to people after to bestow him the priviledge. The same has to be said about our other airport, which was named by a Bandaranayake in memory of a Bandaranayake. To be honest I'm sure the poor suddas must have quite a time pronouncing that The feudal mentality is one problem. But the recent freedoms have made another thing apparent. Quoting spiderman, "great power comes with great responsibility". Freedom is a great power but it must be exercised responsibly. Freedom is not absolute but abuse of freedom usually ends up causing crack downs. The balance is very difficult. BUT the amount of complete and utter mis information, lies, slander being spread through social media and others at this point makes me wonder if a considerable number of our population has aquired the cognitive abilities to use their heads and not believe everything they here. On this forum we constantly come accross hear say in terms of fuel economy, performance, service intervals etc. But this at a completely different level. It is very sad that when these same people turn out to be members of your extended family, people you went to school with, people you went to university with and people who have impressive careers etc. And I'm not talking about political views or views over the economy etc. Thats not quite black and white and you can have a debate about those. But stories about alleged conspiraries (which in another context will serve well in a fantasy book), intolerance, abusive language and behaviour makes me ashamed to be associated with them. Its a dilemma I struggle with on a daily basis...........
  17. To be honest I don't know. But the UK cars came with English systems so there must be a possibility of either switching language or installing a system from a UK car which is in English
  18. Mitsubishi are a group is probably one of the largest and strongest in Japan. Its just their car division along with other manufacturers who has had a torrid time. They are in the process of building a medium range passenger jet. They also build the Japanese version of the F16 used by the JAF and are also building a Japanese fighter as the yanks refused to sell them the F22. They also built what was the finest carrier aircraft at that time the "Zero" during the second world war. The Yanks quickly caught up though.
  19. The extra terrestial engines do support Mivec https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIVEC The fact is engine design is not something that changes very regularly. Once you come accross a good design you build on it so they usually survive a couple of decades at least. In the above the heads have changed a lot, fuel injection mechanism have changed, more electronics have been added but the fundamental mechanicals have remained. The fact that they are so widely used is testament to their quality but also of Mitsubishis atitude to licensing it away for use by other manufacturers. Mind you a lot of parts for those are still made by Mitsubishi themselves.
  20. Well clearly the noises can only happen from moving parts. Either there is play, wear or some of the replacement parts are good quality. For example I replaced my rear suspension bushes with some thai ones I found from Panchikawatte. One of the rear ones squeek when it moves around. There is nothing that can be done about it apart from replacing them with proper bushes which comes with the suspension arm.

You are Sri Lankan. You know our people like this kind of crap. From what I know they are illegal now, though some people still use them. They were permitted for use by certain political stooges. Utter nonsense I say. If you are that important you will get a police escort anyway.
  22. Yeah it was a smart move. Traditionally in Europe, truck drivers do not like the forward control variety. They prefer the engine to be in front of them which gives them some protection but also they seem to be more stable on the motorway. BUT they are well suited for European roads, some which are ancient and narrow, so I have noticed a trend towards them of late. At the same time they have always been popular in Asia and the US, both places the Mercedes sprinter trucks have not really cracked. So I guess it makes perfect sense. I think for Mitsubishi, it was an act of desparation to try to shore up their core business. Volvo and Scania have both done much better after being sold off from their car divisions into their own companies. Mitsubishi Fuso trucks might follow suit. There is a tinge of sadness of course, as somebody who grew up watching our country move on Canters and Rosas, but these are the comercial realities I guess.
  23. When did this regulation come by? I must have missed the news. I thought the limit was 2 years.
  24. Is it still collecting water well? Is your engine a common rail diesel engine?
  25. The Mitsubishi truck/lorry division is no longer owned by Mitsubishi. It was sold to Daimler AG. The Mitsubishi balance sheet was pretty good last year and the year before, but they have had a lot of bad years before that. The main problem they have is in Europe their 4WD vehicles do well but nothing else. The dealers are also few and far between.
