  1. Hmmm i am not entirely sure but for decent 96/97 300-/301- EXi it would cost you between 1.3million to 1.5million. was that car in the sale a yellow one?
  2. Hey Hola just wonderiing, since both you guys have come across the same problem, is this a common manufacturing defect on 121 s'
  3. Hmmmm have to agree with Hola. It's not impossible to find a non modified VTEC. Specially there could be some people who own VTEC s' but have no idea as to what VTEC means or the difference between carbs and EFI cars. If you find someone like that, then it's your luck. Try a bit hard you'll be able to get a good car.
  4. VTEC (which stands for Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) is an electronic and mechanical system in some Honda engines that allows the engine to effectively have multiple camshafts. As the engine moves into different rpm ranges, the engine's computer can activate alternate lobes on the camshaft and change the cam's timing. In this way, the engine gets the best features of low-speed and high-speed camshafts in the same engine. Several of the links below go into the actual mechanics of the VTEC system if you are interested. Several engine manufacturers are experimenting with systems that would allow infinite variability in valve timing. For example, imagine that each valve had a solenoid on it that could open and close the valve under computer control rather than relying on a camshaft. With this type of system, you would get maximum engine performance at every rpm range. Something to look forward to in the future...
  5. Sorry for the delay machan. using the dual carb wouldnt hurt your pocket that much machan but the thing is tuning is bit difficult. send a mail to my email address([email protected]) machan then ill give you the contact details. Fuel efficiency of your car isn't very good macahan because under normal driving conditions my twin carb does more than 10km with A/C on if the engine is properly tuned. You can find the engine number very easily. It's marked on the engine block left to the exhaust manifold. Very easy to find. Or look in the vehicle registration papers that you get from the RMV. But machan i suggest you look on the engine block because if a previous owners changed the engine, the engine number on the papers would be different from the one on the engine block. IF you are buying a EG8 try to buy a VTEC because you'll get better fuel economy and less trouble. But to be honest i prefer the twin carb to the VTEC. If you have any ideas to do performance modifications in future then go for the VTEC. You'll be able to find a lot of performance parts for that. If possible find a non modified VTEC. IF you go for the single carb it would be cheaper to buy and it would also be economical to run than a twin carb. Because machan tuning a single carb engine is fairly easy and parts for the carb(repair kit) is also cheaper(abt 3500) than twin carb parts. And the other thing is that Honda dealers(stafford motors) dont have any twin carb parts. but they have all the parts for single carbs. I wouldnt recommend you to change the engine to a EFI one because the cost would be very high. You'll have to buy the engine-a vtec would cost you about 50000. And then you'll have to buy an ECU(from tech motors you can get a new one for about 40000 and a used one would cost about 20000) and other required parts such as wire harnesses, sensors, you may have to change or modify the exhaust system because your current system my not be able to acommodate the O2 sensors that come for EFI cars. send me a mail machan then ill give you the contact details of my machanic. He is the who does all the tuning work on my car. He charges about 1200 and he has all the equipment needed to do a proper engine tune up. After all this you'll be able to decide what to do...........
  6. Hi guys, check out the fllowing link. if you've watched the last season of fifth gear you may remember once they showed a guy who charges up to 5000 pounds to detail a car. guess what, this time he is detailing a Bugatti veron. If u are using a dial-up internet connection this site may take a long time to load. http://www.vxronline.co.uk/messageboard/vi...asc&start=0

    Nisssan Tida

drove a 2004 N16 but the experience was not that good. the car was brand new and only had 47000 km on the clock but the engine sounded like a vacumm cleaner and wasn't very smooth either. and the fuel gauge wasn't accurate . How can tha fuel gauge go wrong in a brand new car? when i got the car it only had about half the tank then i pumped petrol worth 1000 and then the tank was full. Its a comfortable car but the other thing with nissan sunny is that it's ok as a normal car but anyway even if the car is brand new you feel like you sort of had enough with after several months. Anyway to mention something good the N16 is much more better than tha new nissa TIDA. but cant call it nissan, can we?
  8. Since all you guys are on the subject of speed detectors check out this video. This is quite old but useful.
  9. I think the bugger is in trouble because the malasian government has discussed about the incident in the parliment.Go to the link below machan. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/6528087.stm

    Nisssan Tida

Guys what do you think about the new nissan sunny(TIDA). Well i think it's ugly and the hatch back is even worse.Front end looks like it's been designed on the nisssan murano. Now they look like small french cars. may be because renault owns some percentage of nissan now. check out the rear end of the hatch, it looks like it's from a Peugeot. I think compaired to this the old sunny was much better.

    Viper

Cool link machan. Great pics. Machan did you notice something? The rear end design of the new coupe is similar to the rear end design of the old GTS. but the new roadster has the normal SRT-10 rear end design. Go to the photo gallery in the official web site. you'll clearly see the difference.

    Viper

No argument on that macahan. the vett might be a better handling car but its not as good looking as the viper and it'll never be able to deliver the exclusivity. the official web site doesn't say much about the suspension setup though. But the good news is that now the american producers are also trying to squees more power from their engines by introducing technologies like VVT-i and stuf. In the old days they were just big blocks of engines with a lot of displacement but producing a little amount of horse power than what they can actually deliver. Remember in one of the top gear videos Jeremy K says that 500 HP from a 8.3 litre engine isn't really good enough and these days you can get that power from pencil sharpners. Machan in that 1000Hp one have they incresed the engine displacement? Because it says 8550.
  15. how is this gonna compete with the new Evo.These days some normal sedan cars look better than this.
  16. to me this looks like a normal family sedan. The front isn't aggresive enough and from the back it looks like a toyota vios. Anyway this is my own idea. dont intend to hurt any subaru lovers.

    Viper

Seems like they have upgraded the engine. Now it's a 8.4 litre which puts out 600Hp and 560 lb-ft of torque. The new 8.4 liter V10 engine with new intake and exhaust manifolds deliver 0 to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds. The engine has a new cylinder block and modified cylinder heads with variable valve timing (VVT). and they have even given it a limited slip differential. The car is going to be available in both roadster and coupe versions. 8 standard colours and 3 wheel designs. They say that it's got four wheel independent suspention and pinpoint cornering ability. Would they relly be able to achieve this?

    Security Systems

thanks for the reply machan. how much would it cost me to buy a sytem that comes with an engine emmobaliser. I've heard that when installing the device they pass the fuel line through some sort of a device which cuts the fuel supply to the engine when ever the alarm goes off. would this device reduce the petrol supply to the engine, which would lead to a lot of problems.

    Security Systems

hi gonna buy a security system for my EG8, some say the singer two way security system is real value for money. Is this true? is this a very reliable system? any comments please
  22. no machan this would be around $22000. According to the latest info the car has a k20A motor which puts out 225 HP. thes specs are --- 6 speed manual transmission, a torque-sensitive helical LSD, large 18 inch wheels,17 inch disc brakes with 4-pot Brembo calipers. It will be available in 3 colours. White, silver and blue. Interior enhancements over the normal sedan include a new black color scheme, bucket seats exclusively designed for the Civic Type R Sedan, a new dash featuring i-VTEC engine revolution indicator alerts, a small-diameter leather-wrapped oval steering wheel, an aluminum ball-type shift knob, a short stroke sports shift linkage, metal sports-type pedals and footrest, and a button-type engine starter http://paultan.org/archives/2007/03/30/200...-sedan-details/
  23. whats your engine machan. Is it D16B? I also live closer to gampaha and have a twin carb EG8(D15B)-1.5L. When properly tuned, it does 11 - 11.5 km to the litre with AC. recently went to newara eliya it did 8-9 km to the litre with 5 passengers in the car.being a twin carb this isnt too bad. Earlier i had a single carb EG8 and it was having the same problems as your grand civic. after further inspections my machanic said that the previous owner had used it on gas. take the car for an engine tune up then the machanic would tell you whats wrong. i am quite sure that your car should do more than 10 or 11 if you tune it properly.
  24. ya this video is quite old. that clip is from one of the top gear videos. If you have an ADSL connection you can download lots of top gear videos from www.torrentspy.com web site. hope you'll like them.

    Honda Eg8

ya machan i am running 13'' stock wheels not alloys. shocks are bit old but 3 of them are genuine honda ones. i had to replace rear right shock and i replaced it with Tokico shock which i bought from tech motors for about 6500. The thing is when taking a corner(not a very hard one) above 60or 70 it feels like i am in a boat. shocks are bit old but 3 of them are genuine honda ones. i had to replace rear right shock and i replaced it with Tokico shock which i bought from tech motors for about 6500.
