  1. Spot on iRage?? Current scenario is purely a result of SPECULATION created by those crooks who want "Happy Endings" & is temporary till the hype is over? (simple economics) If Im a buyer, I would invest the additional amount I pay for a "culprit" car sale guy (say 01 mil) in share market (which is performing brilliantly right now) & earn a sizeable return till the car prices return to normalcy within a short period of time? Use your brain, not emotions & be patient till you get the fair price for the vehicle you wanna buy?
  2. Unusual price hike in vehicles: VIASL 21 September 2020 12:00 am - 0 - 687 TwitterGmailMore A A A Vehicle prices increased from Rs.200,000 to Rs. 500,000 Resulting in the Government’s decision to ban the import of motor vehicles and luxury goods from March 19, the local vehicle market has become unstable, the Vehicle Importers Association of Sri Lanka (VIASL) President Indika Sampath Merinchige said. He told Daily Mirror that vehicle prices in the local market had been increased. Accordingly, the prices of the second-hand vehicle market had been increased at a price range between Rs. 200,000 to 500,000 the VIASL President said. “Having this kind of market in vehicle sales is not good for its future. 40 per cent of the vehicle sales centres had to be closed due to the lack of brand-new vehicles for sale. Most of them had taken the land for rent or lease. Even though the vehicle sale is zero the lease or the rent has to be paid,” he said. However, there are about 1,000 brand-new vehicles available in the market which is not sufficient for the demand, Mr Merinchige said. Therefore, he requested the Government to take decisions to bring this unusual situation under control while implementing solutions such as permitting the import of Japanese vehicles which are at least within seven years from the vehicle manufacture date or request large scale vehicle assembling companies to promote their products in our country or to encourage local vehicle importers to import electric cars to support the economy, Merinchige added.

  4. The same vehicle (Allion 260 - 2007 model) has been bought low & published for sale by keeping a FAT margin ??
  5. http://www.aruna.lk/දිනෙන්-දින-වාහන-උස්සන-මිල/ Good to see that the government is interfering to regulate the market prices of vehicles?
  6. So pathetic & unethical to see how these so called "Car sale owners" are manipulating the prices of vehicles which they have already imported. These crooks try to make super profits by creating rumors in the market. On the other hand, they use their network and contacts to buy used vehicles from private owners and resell at much higher prices with fat margins. It's so hilarious to see cars in the likes of Toyota Allions/Premios which are older than 10 years & clocked more than 100k in mileage are being advertised at 05 million or more for sale?? Don't panic right now if you are looking to buy a vehicle & wait patiently till the speculation is over in the coming months. Don't waste your hard earned money at a time when income sources of general public are badly affected due to the pandemic. Prices will automatically come down when there's no demand for such high-priced vehicles. Soon there will be price control mechanisms introduced by regulators to curb price hikes to protect the consumers. Hence it is wiser to be a little patient & reward yourself later with a reasonably priced vehicle? than regretting for paying an unrealistic price now?? CHEERS?

  8. Hi Guys, Im having GoodYear tyres in the front & the rear tyres need to be replaced soon. I recently came across a promotion for Nex*n tyres (Korean made) offered by RP.(Arpi**) Does the brand is good enough to replace for my old tyres?? Appreciate your opinion!!
  9. Hi friends, Recently I experienced a sudden sound generating from underneath of my car, Nissan N16 - 2000 model, when i started to move from 01st gear. It gradually decreased when i moved into higher gears. After a while I experienced a little stiffness in my steering wheel & this kept on increasing in the same ride making it so hard to turn the car. I somehow managed to drive back home with unbearable stiffness in the steering & wonder why this had happened so quickly since I used to service my car at regular intervals. Kindly let me know the reason for this as I'm clueless about it & appreciate if you all could suggest me a good place around Kiribathgoda area to get the problem fixed. Cheers.

  12. Guys, Kindly take a look at the report I got after my car (Nissan N16) went through the Emission Test. To my surprise it failed the test & I was advised to have an engine tune-up to solve the issue. (Actually an engine tune-up was done a couple of months back at a reputed place @ Ja-Ela) Therefore pls let me know what is actually indicated in the report & what remedial action I should take to get the problem permanently fixed. 13. Thanks a lot for all your valuable comments. I'll upload an image of the emission test report. By the way do you know a good place to have a complete scanning of the engine for error fixing and replace the worn out parts? How about Kle_ _ n Park @ Ja-Ela for a comprehensive service?? Guys who have previous experiences, pls do share your thoughts!!! CHEERS
  14. Guys, I had an engine tune-up done for my car (Nissan N16, Manual, 1500cc) two months back at a place in Ja-Ela & they replaced spark plugs, cleaned injectors, throttle body, regulator valve after conducting a system scanning (Which cost me around 9K ) Recently I took my car to a place @ Wattala to get the emission test clearance for the revenue licence but failed since it indicated an engine issue. I was pretty much puzzled with the outcome since I didn't feel anything extraordinary with my car & they advised me to do an engine tune-up again! Pls share your valuable thoughts on this matter & let me know what action should I take to correct this CHEERS.
