  1. Fair point, does the ralliart have longer suspension travel than the Evo? That could explain the extra clearance. Also is the ground clearance figure the same between the Evo and the Ralliart? If I had to guess I'd think that they made the Ralliart softer with a bit more suspension travel to make it more livable.
  2. I'm guessing they were thinking "It's going to be a rally car and people will drive them on gravel and other unimproved roads, so best give it some height".
  3. Here, just putting a picture of the coilovers won't do, you need to give us your thoughts on them! How have they changed the driving experience? Have they increased blood horsepower levels? Do they give you #stancelyfe? Are you now fighting off women/men due to the improved looks? So many questions to be answered....
  4. The brake booster on the Sorento (which is a large and pretty heavy vehicle was replaced with one from a (much lighter) Pajero I.O.? Wow that seems like a FANTASTIC idea!
  5. Experience is truly the best teacher no? But you've had a lifetime's worth of it in the last 4 years on the Project front! Glad that the car is now sorted, she certainly was moving well yesterday (and sounding great!)
  6. Yes it's ok. You don't need to ask for permission to buy a vehicle from a random automotive forum.
  7. Best Wishes for the New Year Everyone. Can't believe it's been over a decade since I first joined the AL forum! Thank you MADZ for putting together this great website and for continuing to support it from down under. About time we had another AL g2g when you are next here!
  8. Write the two names down on a piece of paper, then spin it around a few times. After that close your eyes and point. Whichever of the two you land at, get that one.
  9. He was also president of Mazda in the late 80s/early 90s and it was when he became president that the go ahead was given for the MX5 project. So really he is responsible for the Soul of Mazda.
  10. Well it's a good thing there's only one you, because you come across as a bit retarded.
  11. He said his budget is 4-5 mill, No 6s are available for anywhere near that.
  12. Check your inbox have sent you a PM.
  13. You really are a fan of comparing things that can't be compared aren't you? In this case it's like asking whether an Apple, a Pineapple or a Coconut is better. My personal pick would again be the 6, because it is a far superior car to the other two choices. The Vezel is based on the platform of the Fit, which is a small economy car.
  14. Real world driving of an Axia has given me 10-11 KM/l in the city, no more. Have heard the same figures from at least two other people whose opinion I trust. So really, you're better off with the Picanto.
  15. Davy has hit the nail right on the head, the SR20DET would probably be too much engine for the car and you'd end up having to strengthen so many things that it will be a never ending project. The wiser choice for now would be to just swap out the gearbox if your engine is fine. If you're hell bent on an engine swap then I think a standard SR20DE would be enough of an upgrade with a useful bump in power, that won't need the level of beefing up that the turbo version will need. You could also look at the SR16VE as found in the Pulsar VZRs like @Pericles mentioned. Worthwhile to keep in mind that the legal standing of higher capacity engine swaps is a bit of a grey area at the moment.
  16. I really can't help you there, because I buy my cars looking at using them and enjoying them as much as possible, NOT thinking about what the resale is going to be like. If you're that concerned about the return, maybe you should put the money in an FD and take alternative transport?
  17. Err... no it will not, unless you specifically ask for and buy the gearbox as well. The engine and Gearbox are two separate mechanisms.
  18. Good luck with that, they are super rare in Lanka.
  19. The only people who seem to be "fireup" are you and your friend weezy because you came here to whine and found that rest of the forum don't agree with your viewpoint. How I respond and where I respond to a thread is my business entirely so I will thank you to not attempt advising me on that matter. From the beginning of this thread in 2016 it was very clear that you had bought the vehicle imagining that because it says "Hybrid" on the back it means it should do the same fuel figures as smaller hybrids and you weren't going to accept any other answer no matter what. Because it didn't, you've been looking to whine about it non stop and you seem to get very worked up when people disagree with you. Your viewpoint is clear but it's equally clear that there are many people who disagree with it and quite a few of them (myself included) have personal experience with the Xtrail Hybrid. So let's not have any further argument on the matter all right? Your friend Weezy decided to go in a rather unfortunate direction because he couldn't handle his anger at people not agreeing with him so he has now been removed from the forum. We'd really rather not have that happen again on the same thread.
  20. Your profile picture is a Baleno and despite everyone who has experience with them telling you they are not great you still keep asking whether it's ok to buy it. That sounds like you have already decided on it and are looking for support for your decision. At the end of the day it's your car, your money so it's you who will have to live with the consequences of your choice. Buy what YOU really like.
  21. Actually it appears that you were the one who got "excited" and started name calling because iRage very clearly stated that he was just yanking your chain. You appear really sensitive about people disagreeing with you, work on that a bit maybe? Buying a large and fairly heavy crossover and expecting it to do 11 KM/L(or even more hilariously 17.5) is unfortunately blind optimism so you only have yourselves to thank I'm afraid for not doing a bit of research before jumping in and buying something. To add some perspective, a family member has a 2016 Xtrail Hybrid bought from an importer with zero KM and by now it has done around 35k without any issues so far. Fuel consumption in the city is generally always 7-8 KM/l depending on driving style and they see around 11-12 outstation with a high of approx 14 on the highway. For him it is a significant improvement from his previous model petrol Xtrail (2011 or 12 Brand new Import) which struggled to get 5 in town. He seems to be quite pleased with the vehicle overall. Keeping an eye to see if any signs of tranmission issues pop up. Finally, if there is any more unpleasant behaviour on this thread, it will be closed.
  22. Look at adverts for the Aqua, not like they are in short supply. Go see a few of them which are in your budget. Maybe read the "How to buy a used car in Sri Lanka" thread on the forums before you go. Once you see a car you like, get it inspected at either the agents or a reputable inspection service. If everything checks out make an offer and buy the car.
  23. The Mazda 6, eyes closed. It's on a whole different level from a premio.
  24. A DPF is a Diesel Particulate Filter. Which is something that serves no purpose on a petrol vehicle (which the TRH is). That's the key difference. The TRH has a fairly low tech petrol engine that if taken care of will go on basically for ever. All KDHs have common rail diesel engines (2.5 liter 2KD or 3.0 liter 1KD) which require good oil and ideally super diesel if you want them to last. Even if they are taken care of, you're looking at a rebuild by around 200,000 KM and rebuilds are NOT cheap (easilly 500k plus if done properly with the right parts). The 2.5 liter 2KD is a bit less complex than the 3.0l 1KD although less powerful so probably will be better durability wise. Fuel consumption on a manual 2KD van from personal experience (with dual AC) has been around 9-10 KM/L in the city and 12-14 outstation. Petrol will probably be in the 5-6 range (basically similar to a petrol prado).
