  1. Nothing wrong with them machang. Superb car. Does about 16kmpls on diesel. Supremely reliable. German tech after all. Parts are freely available with Milroy and now Bugatti who has his own BMW shop. Risky things are common to all cars. Falling branches, coconuts, crazy suicidal dogs, cattle, crazy tuk tuk drivers, COlombo Matara buses, Bus #138, Vezel/Hybrid owners, bad fuel, etc. Buy one. People sell for many reasons.
  2. Where to start.. broken AC vents, broken switches, incomplete undercarriage washes, oil on the pedals, smashed windscreen (jury still out, but heard they agreed it was their fault, went all the way to the police afaik), attitude prone supervisors, baka panditha interior cleaners, rude cashiers, etc etc. They have to understand that they undertake to carry out their advertised services for a fee, while in their custody, the vehicle is their responsibility. People come to them for exchange of goods and services, attitude should not be doled out for free. Once one of the monkeys pasted that horrendous red sticker on the windscreen, I asked him to remove it, the foreman got all pissy. I said my vehicle is not your f**king billboard. Never went there again.
  3. We are damn serious here... we want OP to have a maxxa car with ela beat barrel sounds. Ela da brah!
  4. I should have used the term 'exhaust manifold'... my bad.... But manifolds can be bought from scrap iron dealers in panchi and Delkanda.
  5. from engine manifold to rear pipe... full exhaust upgrade. Ela maxxa mod eka machang.
  6. Nonsense.... that s why you fix a big stereo. When beat silencer gets too much, you turn up the bass... cause it's all 'bout that bass...
  7. Ahh... victim here... can tell you horror stories of that place. Wash your car at home.
  8. Auto or manual no problem. But to get full effect, you have to put a 3 inch pipe from all the away from the engine. Just the rear barrel wont help. Something like this would help.
  9. It is perfect. get one installed... 3 inches would be a good size to start off with. Remove the resonators along the way and make it straight through. You will love it!
  10. I must ask, is there a money in tourism now? Since most tourist who flocks to Sri Lanka are not the big spenders. Every hotel along the Hikkaduwa stretch claims that they earn more from locals who come for the day or a couple of days than the Foreigners. Can it be true?

    Break Disc

I got down a set of Ferodo pads for the Subie 4 Pot that I am keeping as standby. Also keeping a set of Brembo rear pads (Germany) for the Alfa. Fronts are EBC Ultimax pads (UK). . Ferodos are from the US. Not sure of the final Country of Origin though.

    Can I Afford A Car?

Not having kids helps a lot though... those buggers are expensive. Rather have the money to spend on some nice cars than to pay for some snotty nosed kid. Car you can sell and recover the investment or at least part of it.... selling kids are illegal... LOL

    Can I Afford A Car?

IF that is the case, a good KE72 would serve his purpose well... Even a Lancer Box. Might be able to pull one off in a couple of years with some serious hard core savings.
  19. These two are classic indications of a Three Wheeler maneuver gone wrong... making me think thee two drivers for ex-Tuk drovers. Those asshats topple their vesak koodu's by doing that quick vettu sometimes. Seen it happen so many times.
  20. I fact a Merc brochure for the SL class I read some time ago had in their disclaimer just that. THat the cars are designed with the latest technology to prevent all possible situations, yet cannot over come laws of physics nor dangerous and neglectful driving practices.

    Can I Afford A Car?

I suggest you start building up your reserve. ave up about 300-400k and then start off from there. Owning a car from zero savings and a 70k salary is not easy. YOu need to eat, clothe yourself, pay rent/bills... then what ever i left only you can use for a car. Things will get complicated if your wife pops a kid out too. So take it easy. Sri Lankan elders, when you get newly married puts some retarded notions to the young couple. Such as go bring Grand Kids, go buy a car, buy a house, etc etc. None of those are easy. I had a friend when his and the bride's parents at a newly married dinner thingamagic they do here when newly married asked when the kids are coming, took his pants off and asked the wife to sit on his lap in front of all guests.... No more grand kids talk for years... LOL!
