goodmorning Dayan, I have arrived and am in Unawatuna now. Is it possible we meet on monday in Colombo? I brought you a little something
-
if you respect yourself as a driver you won't take bumpers Dayan Who on earth would want to hit such a beautiful car (signed : a bumperless driver for the past 3 years)
-
Hi Dayan, perhaps you missed my last post : I'll be in India in december and in January I will be in Lanka. See you then
-
Hi It's been a while. I love the color !!!! Dayan, I booked a flight that will take me to Delhi first and after newyear to Sri Lanka. I'm happy to take a small part for you, as long as it's not a gearbox or something of that heavyness because I will have to carry it everywhere
-
WHOA ! that looks great !!!! i will most likely be in Sri Lanka second week of december ! mail what you need I destroyed the engine of the 405 Mi16 a few weeks ago, because of a bad maintained road, it's insurance work now. here's a sexier pic
-
it's fantastic Dayan, it feels very familiar to my previous mi16 but this one is obviously more sophisticated. i think it's a wonderful experience to have both GTJ and Mi16 at the same time, it's as different as it can get but both really enjoyable. they are absolutely my dreamcars. i think the GTJ has the edge, as it's 18 years older. When i stationary rev the Alfa's 2.0 engine it also seems far stronger because the mi16 is just a high rev with a digital fuel management. they are both dohc but the comparison ends just there. properly adjusted Weber carbs are beautiful as you might notice from the above picture the Alfa GTV's here are a pest they seem to be everywhere (I live uptown) the GTJ really turns everyones's heads. the Mi16 only turns heads of enthusiasts blessed are the designer classics (and their owners)

it's been a while..sorry for not being able to answer sooner. i just arrived from Biarritz I added a 405 Mi16 phase II 2.0 to my carcollection : it's a great machine, it's got all the options and seems to be in a very good condition. It's nice not to have to worry about corrosion this time. I had the Bertone's suspension fixed, it was a small nightmare to have it done properly. It comes down to some small maintenance now. How's your project progressing ?

I am jaleous Dayan, driving thru Sri Lanka must be the greatest experience. In all honesty I was about to sell my alfa, i was so fed up with it (translated : stationary alfa's totally suck but when they drive they are a dream) Now I am all full with energy, I made a promise to myself and I will keep this Bertone for another 3 years. When gas prices will reach 2 € a litre I better spend them inside my dream car
-
after 33 years in this moist climate I am not surprized, the paint is bubbling everywhere and I am sure i will have this issue many more times the coming years. I won't go for a complete bodywork restauration because I can't afford that, i will just have to patch things up I see your car is in better shape I wouldn't dare sanding mine. It would fall apart
-
hi all, just a quicky (i'm at work) I just bought this console for the interior, its from a Giulia and I hope it fits I have a serious issue with the torque bar, it needs welding
-
Hi Dayan, personally I think the snakes and "alfa romeo" stickers make it very ordinary, a car like this is best bloodred with a white part on the nose it's not a 155. it's best if you find a good example on the internet of how other people did it, as it is difficult to come up with a great design yourself. I saw someone with the sump-protector painted in the Italian colors, it's a modest but nice effect. i am looking for a great 405 Mi16 again, I think I've found a nice red phase2 with only 100k. Then the alfa will be just for weekends (it's way to expensive to maintain if driven daily, it's just too unreliable). The Morgan +4 supersports has driven it's first mile this week, the gearbox is very noisy
-
After a few months of complete "I will never have anything to do with Alfa again !", I have resumed maintenance on my Bertone. New starter, a finished interior and a fixed exhaust. How's your Bertone Dayan? Can I see some pictures??
-
it's in fine condition however the exhaust is becoming looser, so it sounds like a Volkswagen beetle at low revs, but near perfect at higher revs.. i'll have a look at it next sunday
-
Dayan, if you don't care too much about originality, like you shouldn't, THIS must be a fine inspiration its street legal and it just sold for around 3k what I like about this car is it high Fun factor a plain black alfa romeo gt bertone !
