Technical assessment to get a real mileage check of a vehicle
mazdaspeed replied to caesarprime's topic in General Automotive
ask for maintenance history or least the emission test reports..... if they are not available - best to avid . Most car seller guys don't given the reports - for the simple fact the millage has been changed .... A good check up with a reputed company e,g C** C***k will be able to confirm in many cases... and if the seller is refusing ... then be careful... -
There is a place in Borelasgamuwa Junction - Kumara lathe works I thin If you come from Dehiwala side - just as you pass the Junction at Borelasgamuwa towards Maharagama - look to youe right side - Between NTB and HNB bank - there you will see the place- small store front but they have a yard at the back - Good thing is they will remove and fit also. Sorry cant remember the costs though Note : As stated by Twin Turbo - do take care on the thickness ---- available for a surface cleanup

Hi People. I have a 2008 Mazda Axela - the issue is the Rain Sensor does not work. I 've noticed the windscreen where the sensor is is not clear and there sis some mist/ glue residue inside it. I've taken it to the Agents and scanned it and they have confirmed that there is no errors showing up - sadly they have very limited knowledge on fixing it as only option was to replace the windscreen with a new one. On several Internet Blogs / forums, its been published that simply cleaning the Gel and replacing it with a new gel pad will sort the problem as this is something that happens over time . Question: has any one of you done this ? Any recommendations on any experts on this matter such as Windscreens and the subject around it Cheers Zoom Zoom

Ford Laser BJ 2002 model- Spark Plug
mazdaspeed replied to Anuruddha Dissanayake's question in Mechanical problems
Yes that's the correct Plug - U can upgrade to Platinum if needed . I believe the agents are Douglas & Sons - they have all the info and will be able to recommend the equivalent Platinum plug -
Thanks a good thought as well .... should see if the foreign guys have used this and if they had any improvements

ON the same line of thought ..... I was reading up on a Throttle spacer ..... Basically to improve circulation of air inside the throttle itself... Any one done a similar modification ?

Looks like they have not taken consideration to the Old english & Sri number plates. There was n issue in the first day but there after on Sunday it worked fine. In certain chassis number, you may need to leave a space in between the the number if shown in the registration book - I too got an error of a mismatch in entering the Hyundai but after the space; it worked ok. Hope on the day of fueling the owner will not need to be present - cant ask my mother to stay in a que ... so planning to take her ID card as well and go.

Well the bottle I used is for a 50 L tank 1ml for 1 Lter of petrol... there after once you top up, you can put the equivalent amount topped up

Hyundai Tucson 2011 Radio Display
mazdaspeed replied to Sanjaya Kasthuri Arachchi's question in General
Well I'm not sure if this will work..... Give a try with Pet#o - they have replaced some Ford Focus units but again not sure if its the same screen type. Do you you use a sun cover ? If not - then it's your fault.. it helps reduce the light and helps keep the car cooler. Also leave a small space when you close the shutters so that hot air goes out... If rain is the issue, after market door visors are there .... -
Sharing an update after the use of Emsol.... Prior to the fuel fiasco, I use to get 8.2 Per KM/L using 92. And about 8.5-8.8 if I used 95. But with the shitty fuel it dropped down to 6 per Km/L... After putting the additive, I've not got up to 9.4 Per km/L which is a decent increase and feel it's a better product than the standard one -Soltron which had very minimal impact The cost is relatively low with Emsol, Rs. 500 for a 50L treatment bottle hence will not burn your wallet (In my instance )
-
I'n no expert but I've just out Emsol and will update on the progress after doing a few days driving and topping up. I was told to first put the green one to clean off the system and then put the Blue one. ( https://www.emsol.lk/) Perhaps changing petrol filter can be useful as well - since I've noticed cars pumping whilst fuel tanker was unloading at some sheds..... which can be an issue as all the muck gets kicked up.
-
I Rage had shared info on the volume..... But as for the empty tank - well I've not done it- All I've done is top it up to full tank and added the full contents of the booster - As my tank is 55L. One bottle is sufficient. There has been several complaints of cars failing to start as of lately ...
-
A more prudent question is " Is 92 or 95 actually the said value ?" Sure hell does not feel like it is..... as there is no option, 92+ Octane booster is a better bet ...
