Good Advice, But I don't think you can get a LS below 40 Lakhs. The cif for LS is more than 16 Lakhs JPY. Tax would be roughly 16 Lakhs. With current exchange rate, it would be around 41 Lakhs. You might be able to get G grade which is the most common and the lowest grade for around CIF13-14 Lakhs JPY. which means you will be able to get a one around 36-37 Lakhs with all the other clearing expenses.

Dear asankabs, If you directly import you can get a LS grade around 39 Lakhs because the yen rate has dropped to around 1.46 and also the market in Japan has decreased due to low demand from Sri Lanka. But since you are importing through some other person, you are legally bound to clear the vehicle from port and you have to pay the government taxes to clear the vehicle. What most people do is thy tell this government taxes very low price and LC value the correct amount. Once the car come to port they will tell additional 1-3 lakhs to which they tell initially and they will tell lot of stories for it. (They only tell approximate figures, there is no guarantee that they will pay any extra beyond 4 million) Instead of you paying 4 million you will finally pay around 4.2 million which you can easily find already imported one from local market. Also due to risk factors of government policy changes, it's advisable to buy a one from here. 1. Always look for original JAAI certificate 2. I was using a Honda Insight for a over a year and no issues with it. It has good pulling power and speed. It's more like using a petrol car with better fuel economy. It has a simpler hybrid system than Prius. Better handling and driving pleasure than prius and it's quiter also. I have 50K on my clock and no repair done except regular servicing. If you are long regular long journey guy then Insight will be ideal because it does more than 20KM/L for long distance. But for Colombo traffic prius is far better than Honda Insight in terms of fuel. Only drawback is it has very less leg space and head space for back people.

They have very cheap batteries to sell. They are selling 45Amp battery for Rs. 4000. Must be some sort of side business. Toyota townace autogear has this problem. There is a guy doing auto - manual conversion in Wellawatta. He is also in this forum. My vehicle also had the same problem and I spent lot of money for atf oil change, servicing, putting K&N filter, injector pump service, fuel system cleaning, nothing solved the problem. I showed the problem to many mechanics around Colombo and everybody said different problems, and some said it's normal with CR42. Finally gave up.

Check with Ediri**** brothers Auto court Thotalanga, they are good in these. Or there are lot of small joints who do good job in injector cleaning. Don't pay more than Rs. 1500 for cleaning all 4 injectors. Company price for 4 injector cleaning of this model engine is Rs. 1500

It says that it will last for around 6 months. I purchased the peanut butter 500ml bottle for Rs. 500 from Keels super applied it to the faded plastic part below the windscreen. Instantly it looked like brand new plastic. I thought this might become faded again with the car wash, amazingly it become better after the wash, I made sure that I don't rub car washes much on those areas and I gently clean it. I am not sure what will happen after few washes, trust me it looks like brand new plastics now with nice shine on it.
