  1. I also agree, My brother Prius 3rd gen is having 120K in his meter. When it was imported it's 110K. Now he was using it more than a year and didn't had any issue. When I check the dash board, for colombo running at has around 15-17Km/L and for long distance 22-26Km/L. I haven't seen anything near 30Km/L which others tell. Things to check 1.Have you pressed Evo mode or Power mode button? 2. Look at the battery charging indicator in the dash board Honda Insight has very informative understandable simple graphics to show the battery charging and discharging. Prius one is bit more complicated.
  2. Nissan FB13 manual gear is a good fuel efficient car, but FB14 and FB15 Auto gear cars are horrible on fuel. Max you can get on FB15 auto gear is 8Km/L. FB14 is little better than FB15 in-terms of fuel. But again, go for manual gear one if you are concern about fuel. Toyota AE 100 is a very good car, if you can find a good condition one. I will give you good fuel efficiency. My friend is having it and he claims that he get 10Km/L in Colombo and 15Km/L in outstation. Hyundai Accent is better fuel efficient than FB14, Manual Hyundai Accent will do 14Km/L for long distance. For Colombo it will do 10Km/L. or max 11 Km/L
  3. Actually, you can find out the auction grade of your vehicle if it's imported within few months back. There are many sites which you can search. The history is only spanning for maximum 6 months in most of the sites. If you want the site list send me a PM. If your car is bought from a dealer directly (not from a auction), then there is no auction sheet, only some inspection sheet. If you have copy of the JAAI you can ask for auction sheet or that inspection sheet from the original car exporter/Importer
  4. I got this done through agent for Rs. 9000 total cost. No waiting. No reservations needed. Go for agents, you get some other valuable tips also.
  5. Try: Onara Car Stereo 527D1/1, High Level Road, Wijerama Nugegoda Tel1: 0112804466 Tel2: 0718112831 They have prius English version replacement set for Japaneese one.
  6. I have used FB15 2000, (old shell), terrible on fuel. Colombo 7Km/L. Outstation 10Km/L. Auto gear, 1490cc engine. I had to replace rear hubs, front CV joints, Sensor (which had only 29K on the meter when bought unregistered and I didn't use more than 20K for whole 3 years) This car is very comfortable car. Haven't used Mazda3, but better looking than FB15.
  7. try Advance C** Au*** at Dehiwala. They did a good job for my KDH headlights. But costly. Rs. 4000 each. Delkanda chaps couldn't correct it.
  8. Yes, Once my father went with the CR42, the guy has rev it up and radiator guard plastic cover was broken. After some argument my father has left the place without any compensation.
  9. Assume X is the importer and Y is the buyer. If X is a registered importer (has VAT registration and garage numbers under his business name) then, Y will be the first owner and Y has only to fill MTA2. Else Y will be the second owner. It's a normal one day transfer and you have to fill MTA2, MTA6 & 8. in vehicle registration book X name appear as first owner and transferred date is same as the registered date. Hope this helps.
  10. We had Toyota Townace CR42 3C engine and it got failed both in 2008 and 2009. 2008: spent lot of money to repair the injectors and all and still second test failed. Our garage guy scolded the testers and we got the green certificate. 2009. Test failed. We didn't do any repairs, Before we showing to second test, we had a long trip and on the way back we showed it, all green and test pass. Advice: Before you go for econ test, Please drive your vehicle at least 20Kms (in high speed, high revs).
  11. For Choothiputha and crosswind who said Hiace KDH can't be travel at 160Km/h Look at the end of the video.
  12. Agreed, with the large bike CD125, Pulsar, Apache it's hard to draw the eight. I will find a smaller bike challey or CD50 would be ideal for this.
  13. Don't use these products. Once I used this in my Townace CR42 and it had increased vibration in the engine. Didn't noticed any mileage improvement at all.
  14. Mates, I have driving license with C,C1. I want to add Motor Bike driving license to it (i.e. D). What are the things they look at Motor bike driving test? If they are asking to drive "8" in the road, how can I practice it at home? (What are the distance between corners of the eight?) Or they just ask to come behind or a vehicle? Thanks
  15. I have seen 560,000Km toyota Hiace Commuter in Jap auction. The price is slightly cheaper than other vehicle. Also around 10% of commercial vehicles in auction has more than 300,000Km on the clock. Those are mainly vans, buddy vans, buses and trucks.
  16. Would like to start a discussion regarding high mileage vehicle. What is the highest mileage vehicle you have seen? I have seen 350,000KM Toyota Vios in a leading cab service in Sri Lanka. Car still running superb except for slightly bad suspensions. Also, has seen Toyota Dolphin which we used for a hire, it's meter is working and had clock nearing 300,000Kms. It also had very good running condition.
  17. 250Km is nothing for a Japaneese car.
  18. You get 2011 prius in Japaneese auctions. They are mostly manufactured in 2011. And obviously they are made in Japan.
  19. 1. Insight 2. Prius 3rd Gen 3. Allion 260 4. Axio 5. Kia sportage
  20. It's very minor issue. I had this issue in suzuki every van after first service and electrician rectified it for around 1K.
  21. You need to get police report and also the new license coming with the strip marked as "DUPLICATE" which is not a recognized identity card for foreign banks.
  22. none of the passengers were harmed. Honda Insight rated as one of the most safest car . Shouldn't be much difference for FIT also.
  23. Dude, buy a white Geely, I have seen lot of people investing on this for tourism purpose. If you are willing to run it for five start hotel in a colombo, they will not take old cars.
  24. 8Km/L for colombo ride is normal for Suzuki Swift. I had Nissan FB15 and it did only 7Km/L. But some people say there ones are doing 12Km/L, but most people roughly calculate the figures and some say "I put Rs. 1000 petrol and it's enough for me to come to Colombo twice and go home". But for long drive, you should get more than 11 Km/L in any Japaneese car of your engine Size..
