  1. The vibration on D and R (with the brake pressed) is most likely attributable to bad engine mounts.
  2. Not sure what that statement means but if you are interested in Colombo area, I can recommend Tuan on Nawala-Narahenpita Road. His garage is located on the first bend, as you come from Nawala Road.
  3. Aston Martin DB5 City-11.235km/l Outtason-13.967km/l If you use the ejector seats and oil slick release, City 10.235km/l Outtason 12.467km/l

    Swift 2004

    1. Check the registration book and YOM on the seat belt. 2004 and 2005 are center antenna. Note that in 2005, Swift went for a model change so it's very rare to find a 'jeep model' Swift with YOM 2005. 2. No. I've seen a 2002 Swift with ABS and retracting mirrors. Swift came with varying options. 3. Take a peek under the rear and see if there's a differential. If there is one, then its a 4WD. There are few 4WD Swifts (irrespective of whether they are 2002 or 2004). Majority are 2WD. 4. I have one question for you? What's the obsession with the center antenna?
  5. I suggest not to do anything to drive the paying customers away. After all, that's what pays for the server space and bandwidth and all that. Of course, Peri is the guy to clarify this.
  6. No idea buddy. Vitz is not imported brand new. Price will depend on the auction prices in Japan.
  7. No frills-version of the Terios is 2.8M. It doesn't even come with a sound system. The so-called fully loaded version is 3.2M Are you trying to promote your business here???
  8. Newest addition to English Language: "Nempimania": an obsession with getting the best fuel economy (or the best only-electric range) possible from a hybrid car. It is derived from the Japanese "nempi" (燃費)--a contraction of nenryōshōhiryō (燃料消費量) meaning fuel economy, and mania, meaning "craze for."

  9. ... and your prediction is coming true
  10. Think out of the box - like Hyundais, Protons, Fords (Laser/Mondeo), Suzukis, Peugeot 406, Skoda Octavia. Most of them come in the sub 1.5mill range. So you can also have a tidy sum left over to deposit in the bank and spend for any emergency repairs.
  11. Considering only the criteria that you have mentioned, both you and your dad are right. Sunny is definitely more comfortable than the Corolla. Corolla is easier to sell and does way better on fuel. The situation in Sri Lanka is bloody ridiculous.People are willing to spend millions on 10-12 year old cars. If you are planning to use a car for long term and not worry about resale value, there are plenty of other options.
  12. how about uploading it in tinypic.com or a similar site?
  13. congrats. you just replied to a thread which was FIVE YEARS old!
  14. B/N Honda City is Made in India. The build quality is terrible. Much worse than the Singapore imported Citys that you see on the road. I would strongly advise against it because I took a good look at it recently. With your options, I would say Terios. You can also get Nissan Sunny (1.5 Auto Super Saloon), Tiida, Ford Focus and a few more for 3.2 mill More are available here:
  15. Cheers. Somebody pls take my turn. @nexus - no worries mate. happened to me too.
  16. I guess its time to give some clues
  17. Could this be a 90s VW Jetta?
  18. No one can really predict the future. But based on past trends, Jap cars tend to hold their value better. Nevertheless, it seems your mind is set on an Accent or Rio so any attempt to change opinion will be of little use.
  19. Harshan seems to have replied earlier. shouldnt this be his turn? Anyways if its my turn, pls someone else take it.
  20. If your idea is to get a YOM 2000+ English number sedan which is not too thirsty for fuel, you are pretty much stuck with three options - Rio, Accent and Wira. If you have are flexible (such as the willingness to buy an older car), there are many other options - not just EG8. The same era (circa 1991/92) Corollas, Sunnys, Pulsars, Lancers etc. will also be available close to your budget.
  21. One of my good friends has a Rio and he's also purchased his second Rio since 2007. Have driven both the cars for a fairly long time. Also I have driven a rented Accent. Who told that to you? a car broker? Rio has two versions of engines - MIVEC and MI-Tech. MIVEC engine is a copy of a Mitsubishi engine. MI-Tech is a copy of a Mazda engine. Accent has a Hyundai Alpha engine, which is also inherited from Mitsubishi engines. It's just a simple 12 valve SOHC engine. Next time tell the guy who told this story to you to take a look at the engine and when he peeks inside, release the bonnet.
  22. 2002 Facelift. Never seen a diesel converted Rio.
