Very true Don. I had a large warehouse type unit in Thornton Heath,Surrey before I came to SL.As I have been away for 3 years I am negotiating to take it back.At the moment I am in the process of gathering stock of salvage cars for breaking as parts which is mainly Peugeot & BMW. Is there any chance of shipping parts to SL to someone who is reliable? Can be done as dismantled parts or cut pieces.

Hello mate, I tried to set shop in SL, but sadly it did not work out. I am qualified in European vehicles & to start, as my workshop was out of Colombo there was not much exposure & finding dedicated technicians is like finding a needle in a haystack. Had 3 guys, who always had some sort of excuse to turn up for the 6days of the week.Its always some sort of excuse like the grandmother died or someone else. I am not trying to be insensitive. How many times can one grandmother pass away. Another ones wife was not working and staying at home. But for some reason he had to take time off everyday to pick the children & drop them off to school & would never turn up on time or take hours doing private work. Finally it was not worth the stress I was going through as I was expecting things to happen in an orderly manner like UK. Considering many options I returned with my family back to UK. It was sad to leave such a beautiful country where every day is a summer's day unlike Surrey in UK. I am getting back to what I was doing before which was Salvage, Recovery, Mechanics & European vehicle parts. Hello Ekendra, Thanks for the message. As you may know there are loads of fuel injector cleaners & additives in the market today. Wurth, STP, Redex, 3M & ABRO to name a few in our market which has equal and or similar effects. As you stated that you are looking for something extra what I can recommend is Forte Diesel Injector system cleaner. It’s around £15.00 & is available in UK. As stated earlier in this thread Running a good fuel additive is your best bet to keep your injectors happy as long as they are not clogged-up. Also as a tip, is that if you are going on a somewhat extended drive (i.e., road trip), this is a great time to use a fuel injector cleaning additive. The constant flow of the injectors (since you are in somewhat of a cruising state) with the additive in there does a really great job of cleaning the fuel system. Another is the Berryman's line of cleaners. For petrol vehicles the BG 44K Power Enhancer should be used. It safely, rapidly and thoroughly removes engine deposits in combustion chambers, intake manifolds, ports and on valves. It restores flow in fuel injectors and cleans the entire fuel system. Users have noticed an improvement in fuel economy and exhaust emissions. This is available in the US & UK if you can get your hands on one of them. Add one can or bottle to fuel tank at fill up. You can use this about every 20-25k miles This additive is also Catalytic converter and oxygen sensor safe. What you need exactly is BG244 for diesel engines which have equal effects. One advice by one of my mates is that you should not use this anywhere else other than the fuel tank itself. Hope this helps, Regards Jerome

Spot on MadMMx, your 2 cents are correct. As I stated earlier the recommended way to clean injectors are ultrasonically & you will notice the difference straight away on boost & economy.As JD mentioned the old way of powering up the injector ''just works''. It just works to open & close the valve to let the cleaning agent out which does some cleaning. But the Ultrasonic wave does the job 100%. After all,you do want to spend your money for a complete job.Dont you? And how often will you be taking out your injectors apart? Cheers, Jerome

Hello guys,I have returned from UK running a garage for many years & in my experience removing and cleaning injectors on the outside & cleaning the carbon deposits in the throttle body will sort the problem to a certain extent.Also using additives in the fuel system also helps.But once the injectors are clogged up even removeing the injector & cleaning the spray nozzle of the injector itself may not help as the deposits go further into the injector. I have seen many so called EFI tuneup spots in SL that give a supply of cleanup additive into the nozzle while running wires from battery to injector to open & close nozzle. This is not the right way as you need to supply an ultrasonic wave to free deposits completely. Due to the machine being expensive this is the method many garages use.But still they charge the customer the usual fee.Also holding the power line over a certain period may also damage the valve causing more problems. I am not slagging off the pro's who do an exceptional job with the right equipment which is worth every cent of money paid.Cheers to them. As Maithri rightfully stated the cheapest & safest way to internally clean the injector is to add a fuel system cleaner to the tank and take the car for a good long spin until operating tempetarture is reached.I have used Wurth,Redex,STP,Wynns additives in my garage in UK which have similar effects. I have now come with my family to settle down in SL & have got down all my Snap-on tool kits along with the scanners & ultrasonic injector cleaning machine & just got a small workshop in Seeduwa.So I hope to provide a quality service for a decent price. I am also in the lookout for a business partner who will be willing to join-up & start this new venture. Also Maithri, where is your garage in UK? Mine was in South London. Just got back to SL due to family reasons & a growing up son.

I have just got my hands on a new BMW smart key programmer & my main investment is my tools. Although ODO correction is not my line of business I have seen this done many times & there are many guys who advertise this servise on ebay UK. The fine line between illegal & may be O.k is Mileage correction as to Mileage alteration. Mileage alteration is Unlawful as to correction. There have been instances in my garage in UK where the car battery is totally flat & you try to jump it with another battery & alas!!! the digital dash may go a bit wonky. Correcting this fault is legal. But you must make sure when you sell the vehicle to disclose this to the new buyer as if the buyer finds this out without you informing them YOU WILL END UP IN THE SHED. Some makes of cars can use a clip on connector on the EEPROM chip or some may need to remove the chip & reprogrammed & resloderd.And yes, as rightfully quoted Sylvi Wijesinghe by examining the removed odometer from the car any meter adjuster can inform the owner if it had been tempered or not. So dont bother trying to tamper with your meter as it is illegal.

Thats right, I have seen this on BMW's & once the mileage is corrected & when the system is rebooted the cars on board computer scans for any discrepancy & it will recognise that something is wrong.The result will be a red light in the dash & who ever wants to buy the car will be instantly put off as they will know stright away that the motor is dodgy.
