  1. Yes i just saw the msg, Thanks Davy, what to do, similar things always happen with GDI ha ha ha. And yet ive been using this jeep for nearly 10 years now
  2. New Content Starts Here Hi Guys I've been experiencing some engine misfiring and also sluggish acceleration issues along with some shaking. But when the vehicle is not running and on parked mode or on neutral mode RPM picks up as usual when racing, this issue comes only when the vehicle is running. Another thing,... for the last month or so things got some what worse after i pump 95 octane fuel from normal sheds (Not so high end). But after stopping the engine and leaving it to cool down for 5-6 hours all the engine miss firing issues goes away vehicle acceleration is all normal until i pump fuel again. currently the vehicle is at this garage and the mechanic says i have to replace the GDI pump, which i did a year ago, and i have no intention of replacing it again. i ve been reading the relevant threads here and saw some people have said, servicing the GDI pump will solve the problem etc. And before i took the vehicle to this garage it was actually starting with a little miss fire and was able to run under 2500 RPM and now it wont even start coz they check the fuel filer back inside the fuel tank and cleaned it using THINNER. and also replaced the tiny maroon color filter which comes inside the GDI pump and after doing all that, now the engine wont even start ? so i was told the issue is with the GDI pump and it doesn't have pressure, it was actually true coz they showed me that there's good fuel pressure coming from the back end fuel filter up until GDI pump and GDI pump produce very low or no pressure and petrol is just coming out of the valves. My initial thought was , that GDI pump is clogged. So what i would like to know is that, is it possible to fix this GDI pump without replacing it for the 2nd time in less than one n half years, Or Could the problem be something entirely different as these GDI vehicles have lot of sensors etc, coz i have previous experience when it comes to some sensor issues which has lead the vehicle to not to start at all. Looking fwd for your ideas and suggestions.
  3. Well its ok, People still check this thread coz its a source of good information. And can someone pls tell me what is meant by servicing the GDI pump? coz lot of garage people told me its impossible to fix and u have to replace it. :/
  4. Hiii Is it possible to repair High pressure pump ? if so can you pls recommend someone who can do it? And also if i need to buy a 2nd hand high pressure pump for a reasonable price, pls recommend a place to purchase. Thanks
  5. Yeahh that would be the last option. Towing is bloody expensive so that's why i was considering to use the STP OPTION if that's going to work.
  6. How can i know weather it has turbo ? its a GDI 1999 CC ENGINE
  7. and oh bdw, i showed this to 3 different mechanic's and the 1st one said i need to do a complete engine overhaul and replaced the pistons, rings, gaskette, oil seals etc. and the 2nd guy said i should get the genuine rings from agents and that would fix the issue. and the 3rd guy said something completely different, he said i should replace the fuel pressure pump (non of these mechanics dismantled the engine nor removed the head at least to diagnose the real issue i have no idea whose right and whose wrong and what exactly is the issue and where to start
  8. There are several STP engine oil additives available, http://www.stp.com/products/oil-additives/ u have any idea which one i should use to get this thing started ?
  9. I did a clean up again and it lasted for abt 10 mins only and didn't start again after that. It seems oil is leaking into the plugs ; / Mitsubishi Pajero IO (YOM) 2002 True, because i belive having to top up engine oil once every 2-3 months is not normal I never failed any of the eco tests so far, all this mumbo jumbo started to unvail very recently It never smoked before even though there was a small internal oil leak (into plugs) and a oil burning issue. i saw the smoke comiing out very recently. I sure did, but there wasn't anything serious, until recently i got an engine miss fire. And i did a scan, and that'S when i found out there's an issue with the O2 sensor and fuel pressure pump, so the electrician guy replaced the O2 sensor 1st and after a week or so i went back to fix the fuel pressure pump issue which is causing the engine miss fire, so that's when i found out, oil is leaking into plugs. and they said engine miss cannot be fixed while oil is leaking into plugs and ask me to take it to a engine specialist.
  10. HELLO GUYS, here are the problems im having with my suv. 1. vehicle pulling power has gone down 2. fuel consumption is pretty high, 6-7 km per Lt in colombo city limits with ac on 3. i used to top up engine oil once every 2-3 months and been recently im having to top up twice every month (i've been told engine oil is burning in grand scale) 4. And very recently when i was driving,... engine started to miss fire out of no where, and when i took the vehicle for a scan and for a fix the mechanic found out there's oil on 3 out of the 4 spark plugs so they said,... oil is leaking into the plugs so it has to be fixed 1st before fixing the misfire. 5. When i last started the vehicle, there was lot of black smoke comming out the silencer, i did a plug clean up and managed to run for couple of days and now it won't even start one of my freind said, if there's a oil leak i should try using a STP oil additive along with engine oil and it would fix engine oil leaking into the plugs temp. aother freind told i should do a engine compression check to see the condition of the engine, pistons etc. but to do so i have to get this thing started, so im thinking the STP "engine stop leak" solution or the STP "SMOKE TREATMENT" would help me out to start my suv and take it to a garage at least. looking fwd for your valuble input CHEERS
  11. Hello Sylvi, They used to have it in their Navinna service station but they have sold it to toyota, so its no longer there. It's unbelievable why these garage people dont wanna use such a simple technique to fix small dents, in europe and US most vehicle owners have their own Quick dent fixing tool kit which is about 50$ but we Sri Lankan's still have to do it the hard way hmmmmm, someone should bring down those tool kits to SL, im sure it'll be a good biz, i will surely buy as i dnt wanna waste my time in garages.
  12. I checked and they no longer does it unfortunately.
  13. Soulja if i can use ur head for that i can pay u mate, but i wont b responsoble for ur head , ok out of da jokes arent there any garages in this country who has da technology n experties to fix a small dent without getting messy ??? :/
  14. Hii, Can someone tell me a place who does quick dent fixing, without having to go through all the potty work, sand paper n repaint.
