  1. Hi Guys, I've always been a big fan of the Vector, too bad it never really took off. Cheers, Porky
  2. Hi Fellow Enthusiasts, I think I will be able to make it to this in my Nissan 200sx (Lucino). I am knee deep in getting all my parts together for my turbo project but heck I will bring it as it is for now as I am really looking forward to meeting all of you. Thanks Hola for the invite and hope to see you there if everything goes as planned for me which it usually doesn't Cheers, Porky
  3. Hi Dimantha, Looking good man, simple and elegant. Cheers, Porky
  4. Hi Folks, Long time no hear eh? Sorry but I've been caught up with some personal issues and work but I do check AL from time to time. Hope you guys are well. Re: NexGen Your fuel consumption issue is simply due to the fact that you are stomping on the accelerator more now that you have more low end torque and you like the way your car pulls. Since there are two drivers on the car one is throttle heavy and the other (your Dad) drives like a pappa. In actuality the consumption figure should be same. Do get your filter cleaned if you need help gimme a holler. Also it won't hurt to get your Oil n Filter, Fuel Filter (nasty dirty fuel here) changed. Check you spark plugs if you're over 20k mileage on the former change em. As for your top end issue once the point from manifold end to exhaust is done you shouldn't have any issues. The difference between a 421 and a 41 header is not that huge so don't worry too much on that. Re: Hola We need to bring down a header for you as well bro. I will check with DC Sports and AEM and see what they got or we can get a relatively good Chinese one for a fraction of the price. Sometimes Stillen gives me good deals and one-day-only sales so lets see what we can pick up. I'd prefer to go with branded on yours. As for you remaining manifold-muffler piping we need to get the muffler dude, Suresh is good for this, to do the piping upto the muffler from header end. We can get a nice free flow dual tip muffler from Magnaflow and I think it is best we go with a 2" overall piping diameter with 2" inlet for the muffler. Center barrel also we can get from Magnaflow. Since all of the above will be pretty much manufactured (mufflers are universal) for your car there won't be any fitment issues even if there is the adjustment will be very slight as in the case for NexGen. The engine bay will not look crappy If you want to do this next month I have to order now so lets meet up on the weekend and do some e-Bay surfing? Cheers, Porky
  5. Hi Zz, Yes Rohith does the paint nobody else, regardless of the millenia it takes he's my man. The standalone does just that it replaces the exisiting ecu completely we swap it out and add a new harness and splice the stock wiring onto it. The piggyback like my HKS controls only the fuel/air parameters and it piggybacks off the stock ecu, so the stock ecu isn't swapped out, with a standalone you have better control over all you functions including ignition. I have an HKS Igntion Amp too so we will try and fit that in when we go boost but with boost you have to be careful with the ingition timing so as not to cause detonation. Still I feel a stronger properly timed spark will help in cleaner and bettr combustion. Also with the aux output control I can control and set the boost and alky injection. Chrsitmas looks like it won't happen, unlike the states it takes a year of sundays to get anything done around here bro Pics we didn't get a chance to take good ones as yet I have some old ones but that is with very few mods anyhow some like the lsd and clutch won't be seen as I didn't take pics when we we're swapping it out. Hopefully when Hola gets back we take em and post sorry for the delay. Cheers, Porky
  6. Hi, Thanks for that info but I'm going to stick with Nadeera since he has the dealrship for both Motec and EMS. Cheers, Porky
  7. Hi, With the kit we basically did a copy of another that was made for a silvia and a skyline and customised it a bit to fit the 200sx. Yes the bodywork and paint weren't cheap but that's what being an enthusiast is about I guess I actually did the engine mods before doing the bodywork but went only as far as N/A mods as I wasn't thinking of going turbo at the time. As for the brakes I have to upgrade the crappy stock to the Nismos and the 4pots with larger rotors but that will go in at the same time as the turbo, when the are setup we will finish the ducting that lead from the front to the sides as the ducting positioning will depend on how the brakes finally end up. I would have gone for a Nismo lsd if it was offered for my gearbox but it isn't catered to by Nismo. The grinding (shaving more like)was done only minimally to the spider gears insde the differential and within the tolerances indicated by JGY I went with JGY as it is better than Phantom Grip. With regular changes in the tranny oil and running a properly bedded clutch/flywheel setup (currently going with fidanza and stage 3) it will last a good time without crapping out whereas with a vlsd the viscous goes and you're done. Also I suppose it helps if you know how to drive within your limits. I went with EMS standalone because it had the features (aux outputs for alky injection etc) I wanted for the right price and also my friend who is helping me with the project knows how to tune on it. EMS are quite popular in Aussie and standalones are waaay better than JWT eproms. As for why I went the N/A route I have mentioned earlier, I wanted to go boost after the costs of cars in Sri Lanka went over the costs of houses. Even with all the money spent and yes it is quite a bit it will still be cheaper than most cars with not even half the options or features all my after market parts are sent from the US as I was there earlier and have good contacts and also from Japan, HK and Aussie also my bro is there so he helps alot. Can't go with a gti-r swap as the gearing on it is messed due to the gtir being 4 wd also the swap is difficult would be easier to go with a normal s20det swap...but as I said before I don't want to go that route my turbo is a Nissan Ceramic 16V turbo which is a t3/4 hybrid it has a t-3 turbine thats smaller and spins faster reducing lag. The compressor is a t-4 thats bigger, so more air is sucked in while less gasses are used to turn it. It works fine for a quick spool turbo for a small displacement engine anywhere from 1.5l-2.2l. Thanks for your vote of confidence will keep posting as the project prgresses. Cheers, Porky
  8. Hi, Well I don't have pink seats and neon under the car, nor stickers along the fender with brand names of stuff I don't have in the car and painted some God awful color like chameleon green/purple.....so yes to each his own. The kit is functionally designed to help apply downforce where needed and increase airflow to the intercooler and brakes. Enginewise, no I am not going the easy SR or CA swap but rather a custom turbo setup on a GA. It has been done before and can be done and I plan on being the 1st Sri Lankan to do it. Cheers, Porky
  9. Hi Guys, Thanks for the invite I really appreciate it however I will not be in town blast! So I will definitely make it to the next one for sure. Cheers, Porky
  10. Well yes it is the stock gearbox, what we did was pull out the differential and insert the spring load friction plates from JGY customs between the spider gears. We had to grind down the gears a bit using a lathe in order to make it fit but now it is fine. Gear Ratios are stock. I will be on the lookout and see if I can just buy close ratio gears off Nismo but from my previous research I drew a blank and also changing ratios is tricky business and has to be done by a pro. Cheers, Porky
  11. Hey Pila, Ratios I have not changed, as I really can't figure out how to do it, if you have an idea you may please enlighten me I will be more than glad to listen. All parts sites I visited don't have the gears. Cheers, Porky
  12. Hey Z, No that is not the brand I used I used this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VHT-Nitesha...sspagenameZWDVW As for this Trans Asia thingy Hola is a bit sensitive to that issue because we had a small run in with the long arm of the law there once after testing a car......so he must be thinking the same has happened again I don't think he means any offense....do you Hola? Now be a nice boy and try and get along with your fellow forum members OK? Cheers, Porky
  13. Hi DHP, Thanks, engine bay is coming up after this weekend when I can take some pics and Hola will post em. Turbo isn't installed as yet I have a T3/4 Nissan Dual BB Ceramic one off of a Skyline and mosr of the parts am waiting for the HKS wastegate and some other little parts to arrive from the States hopefully that will arrive before end of this month along with the Racing Radiator. I have however done everything possible for the N/A setup from intake to header to suspension and ECU so I will post that bit for now and once the turbo is in I will post it then, thanks for your kind patience till then, Hi Pila, Thanks I kind of also to a cue from the Altezza on the spoiler, I forgot the name of the blasted stuff but I got it off e-Bay and gave the three cans to Rohith, the lights do show in the night just not as bright as before but still clearly visible. It some sort of hi temp tint spray I had bought some earlier that was red and eurod out the back so it only showed red that was some Jap brand....also from e-Bay hehehehe. The tint makes any car look phat frm the back bro so go for it. My gearbox was converted to a friction type LSD that I got from JGY customs in US and running Mobil LSD gearbox oil with a stage three performance clutch setup that can hold upto 280ft.lb of torque which I think will suffice if I hit the 300bhp mark. The car grips very well now and as I mentioned earlies I also set the Toe and Camber accordingly. Hi Dilesh, Yes the mirrors are also aftermarket modelled after the BMW M3 they came in carbon fiber but I had em painted the body color. The lights work as parking it is blue color and signal it is white it has LEDS. I am thinking since EVERYONE is of the same opinion of coloring the grill black I might take a pic and do a photoshop job as a trial and see if it look good then I will take y'alls' advice my fellow AL bros and sisters Hi Isuru, Yes that is what I my goal is if I can hit 300bhp or 250whp I will have a sh*t eating grin like the joker everytime I launch What up with the plans you have for your car? You still going to go ahead with that bro? Hi SHAI, Thanks for the kind words I was there checking the King's Court for one of my events. Cheers, Porky
  14. Hi Dude, Yes the pic posted here of the front does not do it justice we will take a full frontal nudity shot for a better persepective. Yes I think I did swing it by the round about near Micky Dees day before you must have seen it then. Thanks Overdrive for you compliments I went with the uniform color all around as that is what would usually come on a factory spec car where all the spoiler and grills are same color coded. I wanted to keep it as close to a factory spec as possible as I prefer that minimalist look. Cheers, Porky
  15. Hi Bro, Thanks for your kind words, much appreciated. Rims are KH Racing some offshoot of OZ imported them and the tyres from Dubai offset is 35. Tyres are Falkens 205/40 R17 ZR and the suspension is performance springs with Suspension Technisques bump stops, KYB shocks (AGX are on the way so I can adjust the dampening), lowered 1.4" all around. Strut bars. You can check my profle it has all the down-lo Just had the alignment done with -1 deg front camber and toe at zero. Pressure is 34 psi front and 31 psi rear. Handles like its on rails! Last but not least the car is on th streets hehehehe you can witness it anywhere between Horton Place and Flower Road especially the Flower Road Petrol shed hehehehe Madmax bro, I got the 3M tint done at the 3M joint in Cotta Rd, they kinda messed it up so they have offered to redo it for free. It cost me 8.5K. Pricey I know but the film is bloody good. Cheers, Porky
