  1. fuel filter was replaced 8 months ago...i dont think this is the issue, but let me check the other things. any idea why the car jerks a lot.......when i park it and the engine is running till i close the gate in out garden i have noticed there are intermittent vibrations in the engine....and then when the car is on the road the vibrations are quite high and there is fuel smell coming from the car. at high speed say about 50k++++
  2. guys, my lancer 1400 seems to be coughing...in the road and there is a vibration in the idle as well. the car is not picking up as usual... though of getting an engine tuneup. what are your thoughts abouta good chap around colombo. i remember a member stating a person who was in moratuwa who has done a good job but could not locate the post becuase the phone no was there. EFI experts are not necessarily carb experts right? how is the guy called fernando in cotta road borella? any experience with him. thanks rameez
  3. and he will not sell it......he will fall in love with it... , but yes something with clutch would be the best and then you can move into auto....
  4. thanks cali.....by the way you said sold out for the next 2 years in US only right?
  5. can you be more specific on the modification part.........was it the engine...?
  6. Guys, Does anyone know where can i buy a small monitor (10-12 inch) width. A second hand one should be fine. I think the one you see at the cashier counter at cargills or arpico. thanks
  7. that is preety good with AC...but i think overtaking would have been a night mare
  8. machang komi.... me neither.........i went there today and all that was there was a small go cart tent....the new car dealers in hall A and B....and the classics outside.then the motorbikes. maybe Jabbas decided tht it was not a mystery product after all..........Jeez...... . While there i just asked for the price of Hero Honda bike and believe me the price was some where around 2.5 Lks. Just for a 110cc bike. god save srilanka
  9. jabbas will be happy at least to see some respect for his advertising efforts
  10. i need to add something here....about this body disposal thingy......burning did not work for the murder in kahawatta recently.....the police dog ceeba was able to locate killer of the 2 ladies even after trying to destroy the evidence. . anyway back to the topic ...... :sport-smiley-004:
  11. imagine the other member who is trying to restore his triumph thinking in this terms........there will be no classic restorations ever done ...since they are old. i know that the lancer and the triumph are in a seperate league but then i guess we all are not the same when it comes to cars. just because a car is old does not make it useless........most of our cars starting from 14sri B11s are quite old in that sense but we still use them over here right.......and maintained in mint condition.
  12. so wht u say is just because a car is old....u must not paint it and restore it .....
  13. the color is silver.........but i plan to give it metalic blue....
  14. can we consider a mini as an alternative......
  15. lance station wagon 1978 model...please give me infor
  16. not necessarily.....but your mom may find it easy to reverse...... i guess even the maruti has become somewhat popular among ladies due to that reason
  17. yes there is body work to be done there tinkering in the front area to be done. and actually i showed it to him about the air bubbles that had appeared in my car and he said that you need to scarp it right into your metal and repaint it.. i am still baffled due to that reason. do you think he knows what he is talking about.
  18. yes the 100k was with materials ....but still the price is way too high right,,,,this guy says materials will come around 15k. the 100k was not any fancy ovens actually he is just another bass who will do it at my house....said he had just finished a double cab and will start on my car.
  19. guys, i have been on the lookout for a painter to do some paint work, at times i felt to go a for a full body paint so whenever i meet someone i always show my car and get some indication. most of them quoted somewhere around 100k. last week i went to replace my horn from a dehiwela joint and when that was being fixed i noticed a VW golf being painted white and the job was quite nicely being done,i asked the guy and he introduced me to a painter.since my car was there i showed it to him and he had a good look at it and quoted me a price af around 30,000, and told me that the paint might be around 4 liters and will cost about 15k. i am still worried or confused how can be there such a difference in prices when it comes to painting unless this guy is doing a charity. any ideas folks....?
  20. you really need to cool down.. .. and that is why i am aksing you..... the car looks great....but there will be a day when we may need to do a repair right?? if you had bought it what will you do... are there any alfa experts as in BMW and VW.
  21. machang komi,,, i think what he meant was that right throught out the car has been looked after by A*W, oil changing regular maintenance......etc, i think all do not do that right?...... i may be wrong. allthough i agree that 11 for a 2006 is a bit too much.....but then i am sure there will be some guy who will buy it becuase maruti currently goes at 17 i guess.
  22. you may also try precitech....@ kaduwela 0112415015
  23. maintenance.....? cost of spares since this is a rare model over here? fuel economy? resale value can be forgotten since it is based on individual perception
