What I see as a problem is the resaleability of that car for two reasons, 1. GDi Engine problems - there are non GDi engined cars but people are scared to buy 2. Engine Capacity (2000cc) will put them off and the question of how much will it do on fuel will come out. My office has a traded in Galant of that same era and no one bothers to even ask the price of it. Also the fact that there was a 1999 model for 1.3mil recently which still aint sold if I'm not mistaken. But you will enjoy the comfort of a big car.

OT: talking about MR2's there was a MR2 advertised in the Sunday papers, says a 1999 model but it has the old lights and all. Does anyone know about this car?

I advise you not to convert it if you use it only for short trips during weekends. In case you use it daily and do cover a lot of Kms and if budget is an issue then yes. Calculate how much you spend on fuel now, how much you will spend on fuel if converted and the price you pay for conversion (engine & at RMV) and see if you gain anything. I'm not very good about the van market therefore I dont know why they sell vehicles after converting unless they are behind a quick buck, since diesels do carry a better price when it comes to selling.

Well you cant complain cos others quote pre VAT price. Actually you have to put the NBT on the pre VAT price, also the according to the Minister you cannot charge it from the customer cant complain cos everyone does charge it from the Customer (check your phone, electricity bills & etc).

Well he did do a good run in the defender but couldnt out do the petrol power. If Dinesh was in front at the start he could have won by a long distance judging by the way he drove. The Saxo is still underpowered your talking about a 125bhp car against the new Vtec guys. The speciality of that car is corners, I think he was pushing a lot in the corners to get that tail out, and also to keep up with the faster cars. I also think that DD was pushing a bit too hard as well to try and overtake AP, saw that he also went into the brink of losing control of the car, but held on nonetheless. All in all I think AP drove a controlled race, and he looked a lot stable even with the pressure applied from DD. Anyway well done to Mivec & Fuzzo.

I also was cursing the commentator, he didnt know much about what was happening, he didnt want to admit his mistake in the T&J upto 5500cc Diesel event. I think that was the first time he did a mistake. Does anyone know why the Suzuki Cultus of mahamoor didnt run as it used to? That car would have destroyed the competition in the 1400cc event with its 4WD. Also was nice to see a mazda Axela doing so well. In the T& J open event the power of the Petrol vs Diesel was quite evident.

This was in the pipelines. A mere 2% increase on paper doesnt look too big, but when u do add up the taxes its a big amount that will be increased. Was told that the SL Customs are no way near their expected mark in terms of revenue (almost less than half of what was expected, which sadly is lesser than what they got last year). So by increasing taxes do you think the government will benefit specially in this current market situ where people dont buy much high end stuff. Leave aside high end stuff, even the Mobile phone business has suffered. At its inception the Nation Building Tax was taken from the profit shown (cant remember the word, since am at home) to the Inland revenue, but then from the 1st of Jan or something it was added on top of everything that was sold or invoiced as well as on stuff that were cleared, just to make some money. I'm not saying the Nation Building Tax is bad, you need money to build the east and the Wanni after the war. I'm against it in the way that they are trying to rob the people. Cut down their (the parliament, MP's, Govrnmnt Min expenditure & etc) and use that money. Put a stop to unnecessary expenses, you will get more money for building the nation. Bottom line is this is not the time to increase the taxes as many a person in top level would be advising.

Well the SX4 did do WRC for one season. And they built a car on those lines, but a hatchback just like the WRC Car.

A classic way to make a Sedan into a hatchback., maybe thats why Subaru made a hatchback.... lol. On a serious note yes these roll cages are a must for any race car, it would have saved the life of many.

This is why you need a roll cage... He was leading the rally with about 20secs until this happened.
