I woke up one day and I now want to buy a W140. The brain works in mysterious ways. It definitely doesn't understand the concept of money since I am nowhere near affording one.

Does anyone know how much it would cost to get an EA- or E* Number for an older 65- suv in the current day and age?

The first Rolls Royce Spectre goes to drum roll please...... Ukraine! And a Minister as well. Supposedly $600,000/-, reminds me of another country where the story is the same where people suffer and the politicians enjoy themselves.

Still wondering how in the world Ukraine is going to be paying back for the weapons they have been asking from the EU and NATO. Maybe they could ask Russia to repair the buildings and compensate for the lives and livelihoods lost if Russia loses. But for sure they wont pay for the weapons from the US and the NATO.

WRC is going to ditch the hybrid systems and go pure ICE to reduce costs. They will save on weight and save money building cars making it easier to get into racing. They will however look at full EV rally class later on.

So these unregistered 2017ish cars rotting in car sales, better than a used or worse?
Need shitbox car asap. Budget is 6.5mil
utter reliable no nonsense car needed. Nice to drive is welcome. Something new ish.

Saw two unregistered EV's on test plates running in Battaramulla. All the badges were covered and couldnt find a vehicle to fit the design yet, any ideas?

Just like our banana republic with organic fertilizer, Ethiopia has become the first country to ban ICE vehicles. The reason just like in us they have a huge Foreign exchange deficit and fuel is very expensive. How will it work out without no infrastructure in place? They claim they get 97% of electricity from renewable methods.
-
Thing is iRage, this stinks like the recent fertilizer ban by you know who. People dont think on the long term, if countries like the US, UK and even China cannot cope with the charging requirements with the existing infrastructure how can a country like Sri Lanka or Ethiopia overcome these challenges? The so called experts have so many stories to say about EV. I presume you didnt see the FB live of a so called EV expert in Sri Lanka after the carsguide Australia testing of an EV vs ICE (same make and model) where the EV was more expensive.

Did a camping tour to Hulangala on Sunday, its amazing how far the small Alto will take you where some so called SUV's bottom out.

@iRage thing is as you mention most of the so called SUV's do not have good ground clearance and are laden with unwanted body kits and are made for posers.
For some reason the Alto is quite good on ground clearance and wont bottom out if you drive carefully and have a spotter at certain places. Talking of SUV / double cab owners they should understand how to drive up tricky terrain where power is not everything, when I was coming down I could see how much damage the guy who went before me had done to the track where he had tried to power his way through spraying all the big rocks everywhere.
I was very careful with it as I didnt want to get stuck with no ways of getting back home, would have hiked the 2kms easily but was carrying camping equipment and 4 peoples baggage. I had my cousin spotting for me in the hard sections just making sure that I took the correct path and didnt hit anything.

It's been 1.5 years since I have never driven a car yet. Plan is to get my german license and a car in 2026. Will come back then

At a point where I might have to do away with project cars/beaters/shitboxes and move onto a less-dramatic reliable second car on a budget - what does the A/L community suggest?
-
Less dramatic more reliable would be the path that I took as a stop gap solution. But finding a good one is difficult as they are also hacked, and to everyone taste. @Supra_Natural was asking why I made myself do that when he saw about my round the country trip.

After three months of ownership I took the Alto for a 1700km drive, with 3 people & luggage for 4nights onboard it didnt miss a beat and was quite happy to sit at 100kmph on the highway from Mattala to Kadawatha. There were no complaints from the occupants as well. I think its a good stop gap car

MotoGP comes to India this weekend, its the closest we have of seeing a live MotoGP race but its very expensive, more expensive than Malaysia.
